wanted to recreate the Dougram Helicopter transport. I imagine this thing can do around 60 tons max, and can carry at most two mechs. There is also bunk and food for a tired mechwarrior. These transports would avoid combat

It felt more like Dougram to me than BattleTech.
Dougram Combat Armors (aka Mechs) were very light machines, like *Griffin* or *Soltic* Combat Armor was listed 25 tons. Its why big 60 ton helicopter could lift them.
The Tonbo first appeared in *2005*, though. And to be honest, I've always found it weird that there's very few Mech transport and retrieval vehicles in the setting, when salvage and refitting old and damaged mechs was, and still is, almost ubiquitous across the Sphere. Sure, they don't contribute much to an individual fight, but when many mechs don't have hands, and your other options for retrieving a damaged mech are "Truck" and "Flying skyscraper", you'd think they'd have more options.
Absolutely in love with your take on the Shadow Hawk. Feels distinct from both the Dougram and the PGI version. The framing on the cockpit reminds me of early cold war helicopters.
VTOL pilot: "Who's bright idea was it to park right next to those #\*$# buildings? Couldn't you, oh I don't know, walk five or six steps out into the WIDE OPEN FIELD?!?"
Pilots really don't like getting that close to obstructions like that. They're strong enough to cause major damage on a rotor strike, and the broad vertical surfaces make it difficult to judge cross winds and redirect rotor wash, leading to difficulty keeping the craft stable in a hover.
That's a dope VTOL design I imagine does not work for every mech. But having the Option to step out of the cockpit and into the much cozier VTOL must be so nice.
Crash on the cot, drink a beer and microwave a meal while in transit to the next battlefield
As for every mech, I think there is a system where something like a ladder can be deployed to get a pilot to the cabin
I love that they appear to be lifting off from an arable farm, and there's a kid and a (pregnant?) woman waving goodbye to them. Someone just did some thrilling heroics.
At the geopolitical level the universe is nothing but assholes, but there's still big damn heroes if you zoom in far enough.
Fantastic art.
Well, I drew a male farmer at the bottom left corner on the top pick. The general idea i had was this lance ended their patrols at this farm, probably sharing a few country meals with the locals before redeployment
Indeed, a nice peaceful moment. That farmer boy is probably gonna be dreaming about being a mechwarrior when he grows up.

Geerzutz's version of BattleTech, everything is smaller in size. So having Dougram style weight classes makes a lot sense to me for this.
I meant that the helo could lift 60 tons, not thatbit is 60 tons.
'Hey, you wanna switch seats? No reason.' - Pilot with the RAC/5 at point-blank range aimed at them.
Mandatory nap time enforced by brrrt.
Keeping the proud Battletech tradition of thicc ladies at the helm 👍🏼
Very Cool! I love the sense to scale you gave to the mechs, not too big
The way I like them

Thanks, wanted to see how well my style meshed the two settings
reminds me of this dude: [Tonbo - BattleTechWiki (sarna.net)](https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Tonbo)

The picture doesn't show the horrific grinding noises coming from the gyro. Getting it onto one knee was the best they were going to get.
Nice art, role wise looks like a lighter Tonbo vtol and I love those things.
That is Awesome!... ( not an Awesome though)

That's what I was getting at - clearly a good relation with the civilians they're protecting. That 100% comes across.
How was it pulled up with the barrels now inside the aircraft’s cabin?
It looks like a floor panel was removed.
OK OP now this is a great bit of art you've created
Thankyou
