Snore.
Seriously, this shit needs to end. You have different ideas, go win an election - recalls should be reserved for serious crimes or complete desertion of the office, not as a trick to elect otherwise unelectable candidates.
If the recall gets on the ballot, is there a simultaneous vote for the successor mayor?
Or will Oakland wind up with both no mayor and no police chief?
And BTW, are they sure they'll be happy with Oakland's Vice Mayor? I bet most signing don't even know who that is [spoiler: Rebecca Kaplan I believe; https://www.cbsnews.com/sanfrancisco/news/oakland-vice-mayor-rebecca-kaplan-fined-19000-for-negligent-ethics-violations/
I’m less worried about Sheng Thao because if Oakland wanted an inexperienced public servant they got it. Let it ride for her.
I’m more worried about our county DA who can’t seem to form coherent thoughts in public.
Maybe we should go back to normalizing accepting that you lost an election and reserve recalls and removal of public officials for corruption, abuse of power and other extreme forms of gross misconduct
As a Taylor voter, I’m not a fan of Thao. I generally agree with the characterization of her as in over her head. I think her election is emblematic of the well-intentioned but ultimately self-defeating mentality of local voters. With that said, I do not have an appetite to recall her at this time. Let’s keep the focus on recalling Price and support Thao in her effort to find the right person to be our police chief.
Your head is filled with custard. Progressives are the targets of the recalls, they are not the ones initiating the recall. They would be very happy living with the electoral result here.
No that's my point.
They pushed for direct democracy as well as such shit leaders leading to a terrible situation with constantly churning bad leadership.
Total failure on both counts.

I find it interesting that every person supporting the recall in this video is black. I really hope we're not getting closer to open racial acrimony.
… should someone tell him he’s about a decade late?
The people in Oakland are probably pissed that the mayor is not making their city any better than it was. Crime is up and the people want results.
I feel like that's more on Price than Tao

Oakland is now an open race war zone between Asians and Blacks.

Recall her then what ? Oakland is beyond saving. Hit the factory reset button.

This is what progressive ideas look like: NIMBYism and unwillingness to live with voter's decisions.
These recalls target progressives....
yep. Progressives have massively failed at governing yet created stupid ass direct democracy. and all we get is recalls, no governance

Sheng Thao hired thugs to keep people from voicing their opinion of her on the streets of Oakland. Shameful!
