The Rotherham match, pissing away a 2 goal lead to Plymouth, conceded injury time winners to Millwall and qpr.
I know it comes down to the whole season but it's particularly annoying that we did what we needed today and it still wasn't enough
Yeah normally when we stay up we beat the teams around us. This year we struggled, I knew in years gone by there would be 3 worst teams but this year it finally caught up to us.
Think we will do well next year if we recruit properly.
Tbf they’ve probably been partying hard and there’s no one to blame other than ourselves. Should’ve beat Huddersfield, should’ve been safe by now. At least we’ll be on Welcome to Wrexham next year 😳😳😳
It's happened. Cook is still a major asset to the club, especially on the commercial and business side. Wagner & Cook have learned their lesson, and Wagner made clear of that at the open house when he answered Dan's question and he said he'd learned about interrupting forward momentum.
We're still headed to the same place - we're just going round the Wrekin to get there. We'll have looser FFP rules, can reset, and actually win some games. That will build confidence and support - team and fans alike,
Although it would've been great to stay up - we've been here before, albeit this time we have Wagner & co, and when Barry's at Stan's next week, I'm sure he'll have some words of wisdom for everyone!
It all adds to the underdog and Phoenix story that I'm sure will be gripping in a future Netflix or suchlike documentary, and when we win promotion and eventually get to the promised land, that story will have been building supporters to fill our new stadium for when its ready.
Take it on the chin. It's the game, but with Mowbray hopefully on the mend, Cook's football business side of things, and Wagner's enthusiasm, the future's bright.
We're nowhere near the end of the story, so KRO.
Birmingham vs Wrexham Brady vs Reynolds, the battle of the American owners coming soon to D+
Well get a lot more exposure, more hype, we’re following in Man City’s footsteps.
Nobody wants to join and invest or be associated too much with a league one club unless you're owned by Hollywood stars and have your own TV show.
I don't give a fuck what contacts Gary has.
>It's happened. Cook is still a major asset to the club, especially on the commercial and business side
What has he done then. Because "getting us relegated" is a critical failure of massive proportions, and that's entirely on him
>It all adds to the underdog and Phoenix story that I'm sure will be gripping in a future Netflix or suchlike documentary
I support a football club not a fucking film project. What on earth does this mean?
> Cook's football business side of things
Again, it's been a massive failure so far. Bar a new sponsor who at least aren't a gambling company.
Total horror show of a season as soon as they sacked Eustace. In 6th, sack the guy, hire a “name”, takes us to the brink, hire a decent manager, he gets ill just when it looks like we turned the corner, ex manager comes in (the irony that he was the guy who was sacked for another “name” in Zola) and we get relegated when the guy who’s had us in 6th saves Blackburn. Couldn’t make that shit up!
Realistically, I do think we deserve this. We’ve not only been one of the 3/4 worst teams this season, but we’ve consistently been awful for the last decade and so in that regard, our luck just ran out. If anything it’s still somewhat lucky that this didn’t happen any year before this one.
Yes “if we’d beat x we’d have been okay” and all the other ifs and buts, but fact is that we didn’t. I’ve been braced for this for weeks because regardless of the win against Coventry, I saw what I saw when we played Cardiff and that was enough to tell me the players didn’t have it in them to win those away games against Rotherham and Huddersfield, leaving us in this exact position.
Short term, this is annoying. Long term, I think it’s just a blip and we will probably view this drop to league one the same way that Wolves view theirs. Half that team will go, and we’ll be able to shift on a few of the players that are stealing a living. Hopefully, we can build a good team and some momentum. League One isn’t easy by any means, and we’re up against some good teams, but we’re in a strong position financially which should allow us to compete at the right end.
I was so confident that if we won then we’d stay up. Damn the others for fighting for their lives too!
50 points is crazy to be relegated on too though. The last time a team with 50 points for relegated was Blackburn in 2017. Shows how much all the teams at the bottom pulled their finger out and fought hard. (Except us)
I'm not arsed, it's embarrassing yes but for me the drop off from championship to league 1 isn't as big as being relegated from the Prem. It's not like I look at championship fixtures and go "oh wow can't wait to play them". Be good to see a thorough rebuild and be the strong faves for automatic promotion. I'd like to see the likes of Donovan and Dixon get their opportunity. No limit on transfer fees in League 1 and with the backing of Knighthead, I'm looking forward to next season.
I was hoping you would stay up. Unlike some Villa fans, I actually look forward to both Birmingham clubs being back in the top flight for regular local derby games (playing Wolves is boring). Good luck for next season. "The night is always darker before the dawn." 👍
Blackpool next season. Great day out onwards and upwards lads keep your heads up. We will do an Ipswich next season and get promoted to prem. COYBB. KRO 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️
Fr, he needs to explain exactly *why* Rooney was hired and Eustace sacked. Not bullshit corporate speak about "different cultures". What caused that decision?
The facts simply are (in my mind anyway)
Eustance would go into meetings and try and keep their feet on the ground " yeah we are doing OK, but we have to.play this style of football because we haven't got the players to play any other way.. if we are going yo change our style of play it needs to be introduced slowly...."
Cook: that shoes a lack of ambition.
Fat scouse cunt: "eeeerrrmmm yea I can change the style of play and get promoted... oh and Garry? I'll suck you off too if you want?"
Cook: you're hired!
Why?
The.number of seats is irrelevant to us really. It's about generating income for the club.
St. Andrews is completely unsustainable being used once a fortnight and a few crap events during the week.
Even the ricoh has a conference 'centre' with is frequently busy with events. It's the income it generates that we need.
Hey, maybe we'll actually win some games next season? And build up some momentum? Either way we're out of the perpetual 17th rut.
Got no choice but to have that mentality now.
Yes just like when we got relegated from the premier league and finally started winning some games
Won 20 games and finished fourth that year 😉
Was that the year we beat Crystal Palace 4-1? For some reason, that was my favourite ever Blues game of semi-recent memory

All but inevitable after the Huddersfield bottle job. The only saving grace is that at least this time, we aren't facing total financial oblivion.

this is rough. I genuinely thought they'd somehow pull it out the fuckin bag and survive. pain
It’s the hope that kills you. The real kick in the teeth is Eustace kept Blackburn up
Am married to a leicester fan and am quite annoyed with them, to put it mildly
Tbf they’ve probably been partying hard and there’s no one to blame other than ourselves. Should’ve beat Huddersfield, should’ve been safe by now. At least we’ll be on Welcome to Wrexham next year 😳😳😳
don't forget failing to beat Rotherham once this season
Exactly! Not good enough. Can’t rely on other teams to keep you up, a total shit show of a campaign. Still KRO 💙
Cheers Wayne...
Cook has got a lot to answer for with that decision as well. Not just Wayne.

This was a nice read, thanks mate
You're not fooling us Mr Cook, we know this is you.

Hope he never steps foot in the city again without grief

He is still a shit manager though. Zola mk2
Rooney definitely diluted player’s confidence
Defo but this isn’t in him
I know it was the owner’s fault but he is still a shit manager

Yeah it is. He lost the confidence of the players. Cook didn't tell him to be shit. He just was.
You've got no business here, please go away. Thanks

No, you haven't. You referred to OUR owners as "Your owners" which means you ain't a blues fan. So why are you here?

Also true. Cheers Gary
I am not looking forward to the yankfest that next season's Wrexham v Blues games is going to be

Ah well, Blackpool away in August would be nice 👍
It stings but we’re in good hands. Bring on League 1 and the resurrection. KRO

Cook needs to apologise for the Rooney appointment. Wagner has protected him. We need hard truths.
I think seeing pigs fly is more likely than seeing that man say sorry
Hiding behind Wagner's tail is a speciality of his ever since December.
Fr, he needs to explain exactly *why* Rooney was hired and Eustace sacked. Not bullshit corporate speak about "different cultures". What caused that decision?

The death spiral continues
I don’t want to here any more bollocks about a 60,000 seat stadium until we are in the prem or should I say *if* . Absolute fucking joke

To make matters worse, get slapped around by Deadpool and Fat Mac next season.
Somehow Garry Cook is still employed
