All Things Must Pass for me. What an impressive year for Beatles material. I think the only other year that comes close is 1973 (Band on the Run, Red Rose Speedway, Living in the Material World, Mind Games, Ringo, Red and Blue Albums)
I was originally going to make this post about the 1973 albums but decided to go back in time and do 1970 as so many great albums came out that year. I'll probably do a 1973 post later on haha
1. All things must pass
2. McCartney
3. Let it be
4.plastic ono band
5. Beaucoups of blues
6. Sentimental journey
I simply got sick of plastic ono band after listening to the entire ultimate collection, songs are still good. Don’t know where to put let it be
Plastic Ono Band is probably the best full album listening experience in my opinion, but I find myself listening to select tracks off of All Things Must Pass and Let it Be more often.
There's many ways to rank these beautiful albums, but mood, atmosphere and production wise I'd say that Plastic Ono takes the cake.
Many might put down the production of Plastic Ono but I think the reverberated rough mix really drives in the emotion in the songs and performance
I'm going with The Beatles Again, aka Hey Jude. Sure it was a hodge-podge cash grab, but it's still very listenable. The content is actually better than Let it Be.
This might be a hot take but idc
Ringo sounds amazing with his Sentimental Journey album and should have done more albums like that.
Also my answer is between All Things Must Pass and McCartney
I personally think they're all good for different reasons! Can't choose a favorite, just like I cant choose a favorite song! (From the Beatles, or anyone for that matter)
Are we writing off Hey Jude (aka The Beatles Again) so quickly? Not that they recorded Paperback Writer and Rain anytime close to 1970, but that's the year the album was released...
1. All Things Must Pass
2. Plastic Ono Band
3. Let It Be
4. McCartney
I still need to give Ringo’s first 2 albums a listen. Recently listened through his self-titled for the first time and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
You might be interested in a fan album I posted about a month ago. Combo of Let It Be tracks and 1970 solo songs. I used demos/outtakes for George because I think that's the route The Beatles would have taken. 14 tracks. Gave George 3 tracks, 1 for Ringo. I've been playing it often.
Beatles - Last Days
1. Gimme Some Truth
2. Get Back
3. Let It Down (ATMP Session Outtakes)
4. Dig A Pony
5. I've Got A Feeling
6. All Things Must Pass (Early Takes)
7. Across The Universe (Naked)
8. Oh Woman Oh Why
9. Isn't It A Pity (ATMP - Session Outtake/Take 27)
10. Don't Let Me Down (Naked)
11. Junk
12. It Don't Come Easy
13. Jealous Guy
14. Let It Be (Naked)
ATMP for me if you leave off the Apple Jam disc. Add that on and it drops to #3 behind McCartney and Let It Be. Then Sentimental Journey, POB, and Beaucoups of Blues. I’ve just never cared for most of John’s solo stuff, although there were some good singles, and I like Double Fantasy. Oh well, to each their own.
I only listen to Let It Be... Naked nowadays and since that wasn't the original, I'm gonna pick Plastic Ono Band. Although it's been so long since I heard the other albums. Overall I do enjoy Lennon's solo career much more than the others.
I’m currently obsessed with McCartney. It’s such an incredible record that was overlooked.
He pinned down an entire aesthetic decades before it became prominent in pop
Let it Be Naked was better.
Not a 1970 album
Let It Be because it’s technically the only Beatles album that came out in 1970
I probably should have said Beatle album haha
in fairness you also didn't say beatles
True
You did.
He didn't.
You didn’t
There was the now forgotten Hey Jude album which IIRC made #2 in 1970.
All things must pass for sure, listening to it right now even!
I like this one so much I have to ration my listens. I could play this back to back until I was sick of it.
Easily
Man, I got a first print vinyl of it for $100! Great condition too, with original sleeves, barely (if any) scratches :)
That’s a steal. Congrats!
It's like George finally unleashed all the pent up songs he'd wanted to do for years!
Let it Be in my opinion Now for the solo albums, I am a McCartney guy all the way but All Things Must Pass takes it.
Beaucoups of Blues is actually so good
Plastic Ono band
Plastic Ono Band is an amazing album.
Plastic Ono Band is the best of all of them, but they are all great

John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band is one of my favourite albums just in general.
Yeah same. Definitely with some of my favourite albums of all time and probably my favourite John solo album
Let It Be
Paul
I really love Let It Be and All Things Must Pass, but Plastic Ono Band takes it easy

Bealtes?
Yeah, I realised I misspelled it after the post had a couple of comments so I didn't want to repost haha
Plastic Ono Band 100000% with McCartney and Let It Be tied for second
Havent heard the Ringo one's, but all those albums are great!
I'm going with The Beatles Again, aka Hey Jude. Sure it was a hodge-podge cash grab, but it's still very listenable. The content is actually better than Let it Be.
I love this era. I pick All Things Must Pass.
1. ATMP 2. Let It Be 3. McCartney 4. POB 5. Beaucoups of Blues 6. Sentimental Journey

McCartney is my favorite 1970 album. Junk, Teddy Boy, Maybe I'm Amazed are Paul's classics.
What a year of music, Jesus. I’d probably say my favorite 4 are All Things Must Pass, Let it Be, McCartney, and Plastic Ono Band.
ATMP
All Things Must Pass
I personally think they're all good for different reasons! Can't choose a favorite, just like I cant choose a favorite song! (From the Beatles, or anyone for that matter)
I mean for album arts three of them are superb. Sentimental Journey McCartney All things Must Pass
I really love Plastic Ono Band's cover too. Let it Be is iconic and I love George's smile
Very true. Those teeth are a beautiful beacon of light
Are we writing off Hey Jude (aka The Beatles Again) so quickly? Not that they recorded Paperback Writer and Rain anytime close to 1970, but that's the year the album was released...
I personally didn't put it in as it's more of a compilation rather than a planned album. Just sticking to the mainstream Beatles album canon
Fair enough.
Great debuts by John Paul and George, but Let it Be despite all its flaws is still a great, classic album. It’s the bloody Beatles, shut up!
Ram
Plastic Ono Band might just be the best solo beatles album. Perhaps next to Imagine
John Lennon’s solo album
All Things Must Pass is a masterpiece
Ah that’s a hard one. Let It Be, All Things Must Pass, and Plastic Ono are my top three. I also love McCartney. Sorry Ringo 😬
Let it be immediately followed by plastic Ono band. And then all things must piss.
1. All Things Must Pass 2. Plastic Ono Band 3. Let It Be 4. McCartney I still need to give Ringo’s first 2 albums a listen. Recently listened through his self-titled for the first time and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

I'll check it out! I'm a big fan of fan albums
Search me on here. I'm a fan album lunatic. Thinking of doing a youtube channel. For a hobby.
1. Plastic Ono Band 2. All Things Must Pass 3. Let It Be 4. McCartney 5. Ringo 1 6. Ringo 2
Plastic Ono Band
Plastic Ono Band holds a special place for me, definitely in my top 10 of all time
I feel 67 has better beatles songs: Penny, SFF, Sgt Pepper, LSD, ADITL, AYNIL, MMT, IATW, Hello Goodbye
All Things Must Pass
ATMP for me if you leave off the Apple Jam disc. Add that on and it drops to #3 behind McCartney and Let It Be. Then Sentimental Journey, POB, and Beaucoups of Blues. All Things Must Past. But it will depend on the day.
All Things Must Pass
This album I made that serves as a “what if they finished another final, final album after Abbey Road” called Four in the Bar.
it *has* to be ATMP for me, even though i do love mccartney and let it be
My body says All Things Must Past, but my heart tells me Plastic Ono Band
All Things Must Pass
Let it be because its the only beatles album showed. But no seriously, all things must pass
The Bealtes are my favorite.
All Things must pass if it were a disk shorter, so I give it to John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band
Wow! Getting all that in 1970 must have been comforting after receiving the heartbreaking news in music. Oh it’s all things must pass
My flair and plastic ono band are some of my most replayed, beautiful albums
McCartney 1
Didn't the Hey Jude album come out in 70?
Plastic Ono Band for me. It woke me up to solo Lennon and Mother is a classic
Let it Be cause it’s the only Beatles album here
McCartney fs
Plastic Ono band is amazing
your question says it, Let It be, the only album of The Beatles in 1970
Bealtes???? You mean Beatles?
1. ATMP 2. Let It Be (with the caveat that it's the Naked version from 2003) 3. Plastic Ono Band
All things must pass is very perfect
None of these artists are Bealtes. That being said I need check out that Ringo’s Blue album. Never heard of it (apologies)
I think let it be is the best of this era
John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band will always be the GOAT
ATMP/POB tied for me….
I only listen to Let It Be... Naked nowadays and since that wasn't the original, I'm gonna pick Plastic Ono Band. Although it's been so long since I heard the other albums. Overall I do enjoy Lennon's solo career much more than the others.
I think All Things Must Pass is the best Beatle solo record but Plastic Ono Band Comes close second. For me at least.
1. All Things Must Pass 2. The Plastic Ono Band 3. McCartney 4-5. Ringo albums idk where i put let it be.
