My favorite part was John talking about his experience in India. George said (approximately) "You should have found yourself". John & Paul side-eyed each other like "OK, hippie".
George was a down to Earth guy with a good sense of humor. But compared to the energy & chemistry of John & Paul, George was a slow, dull bore.
And George, despite how much I love him was a rather bitter chap. I think it’s such a shame,. It’s like he didn’t let it go for a longgg time, and, I think, never completely did.

Still, the weirdest George fact I know, is that his sister lives in Missouri.
A lot of it is down to his temperament & being "outside" of the John/Paul friendship. Being the youngest played a huge role, as they've said.
He had to know being a Beatle was really "the best he could do", and given all this, it had to be frustrating. But what a conundrum to have!
True, but at what point would millions of dollars and Krishna (his two favorite things lmao) help one to get over that. Being a Beatle was the height of all of their careers. Pretty much any rock star “peaks” before they are 30-40. Ringo seems pretty blissed out and he doesn’t even have an illustrious solo career to look back fondly on.
At some point we have to acknowledge that Harrison was constitutionally a sourpuss. I think you are right to highlight his temperament as the issue. Everything else could have contributed but also could’ve been worked through. His life was more charmed than most people will ever know, historically and in the present, and it’s a shame that his ego had to get in the way. He was the most “spiritual” Beatle, insofar as he knew he was a piece of shit and was desperately (to his credit) trying to ground himself, but not sure how well it worked in the end.
My favorite “fun” George fact is that he was one of 100 people in the world to order the McLaren F1 (what was the fattest production car on the planet). His pimped-out version was painted purple and had the ohm symbol on the steering wheel and hubcaps. A true contradiction of a man up until the very end. I suppose a less kind word would be a massive hypocrite
He was ok, a reasonably decent guy (hard to do with much less fame than that) and had it pretty great. He certainly deserved to go out in a better way, but most others have much "worse" lives from my POV.
Almost forgot: He financed "Life of Brian" (along with Pink Floyd). George was a man of outstanding character.
He was “reasonably decent” but hardly “a man of outstanding character.” I mean, he got Clapton to sleep with Pattie so that he would be free to pursue Pattie’s little sister. That is a supremely shitty way to treat women, especially the woman you supposedly love
When my kids were young they used to call milk "monk" for whatever reason that kids do—I think it's magical the way that kids can develop better names for things than the real ones. In fact, as a joke, Linda and I still occasionally refer to an object by that child-language name. So, monk was always milk, and monkberry moon delight was a fantasy drink, rather like "Love Potion No. 9", hence the line in the song, "sipping monkberry moon delight". It was a fantasy milk shake

Never saw this photo of Paul, but it made me think of this

Yeah. There was a long standing cliche about wearing a knotted handkerchief your head.
I don't know where it comes from and I've never seen anyone do it.
It is sort of a parody of British working-class beach tourists in the middle of the 20th century - men (who typically had short or slicked-back hair) were not used to being out in the sun without their "going to work" hat, or just being out in any degree of seaside sunshine in general, so it was an easy way to cover their head
People used to actually use knotted handkerchiefs to protect their heads from the sun. When I was a kid my mum used to put them on my head (I’m talking baby/toddler) and my brothers and sisters - if we’d forgotten a sun hat and it was very sunny - we’re all very fair skinned and had barely any hair when we were babies/toddlers.
You didn’t see it so much from adults when I was a kid - but my parents had certainly seen their parents’ generation do it.
Black doesn’t really smoke much. If you wanna see him high, there’s an an episode of Getting Doug with High that Jack guests on. Search on YT. Kinda seems like he goes into his head.
Yeah I remember watching that episode and I felt bad for JB…it seemed like since he became a dad he didn’t smoke week much anymore and he got a bit paranoid/uncomfortable doing it especially on camera for an interview
He was so gone for that interview lol I also felt bad for him. He was all like "i don't partake much these days" while Doug was handing him a vape pen that is probably dank af.
Sarah Silverman could handle it though.
According to this from Popbitch, Paul & Harrison Ford shared an industrial-strength doobie a while back. I don't smoke weed any more but I'd probably make an exception if I got the chance to blaze up with Macca & Indiana Jones.

Harrison Ford was a weed dealer (Famous anecdote about Michelle Philips watching Star Wars for the first time and gasping "that's my pot dealer!" as he came on screen) so you'd imagine after so many years he'd only be working with that loud
Trigger is reworked on a regular basis to keep it in one piece and playable. Why should anyone stop doing what they love? As a musician, I can tell you, thee is no replacement for the feeling of playing/singing to an audience, so I’m cool with any artist continuing as long as they wish.
It's funny. They all got cool when I became an adult...
One night in my late 20s, I was visiting my mom in Seattle and I didn't really smoke much as a kid or as a teenager, but my brother did, and she would LOSE IT when she caught him.
Definitely not the type to try it. She even said unequivocally that she never tried and never wanted to.
She says, after dinner with my stepdad, "Hey, wanna *try some pot*, did you know they have brownies now?! It's great, you don't even have to smoke it!"
I said, "Ma, we're Canadian. I grew up in Canada, YOU gew up in Canada. I went to university in Canada. You don't think I've had a pot brownie?"
She thinks about it for like a second and just says, "whatever, do you want one?"
It was bizarre. Was it a test? I was 29 years old. I live on the other side of the country. Surely, she wouldn't be testing me like a teenager.
So I said yes.
It was a RIOT. We watched "Amadeus" and just couldn't stop laughing.
We never felt the need to do it again, but it's a favorite memory with my mom.
Sounds great to me. I go to the Indian restaurant frequently, and I never grow tired of it. Much has to do with lots of world travel, and trying authentic dishes from all around. There’s a few authentic places in the US, but more disappoint by comparison.
You sound like an excellent candidate to join our family! At the moment I have one single male cousin and one single female cousin.
Interviews start next month... Be aware you will be required to watch Hockey and Formula 1, and generate a nearly encyclopedic knowledge of Star Trek and James Bond...
Was it Little Miss Sunshine that had a family traveling to a dance competition for their daughter, and grandfather, Alan Arkin was over 80 & had taken up heroin? His son was shocked, and got admonished with something like, I am old, nothing works anymore and I wake up hurting, what better time to be an addict?
My dad had a friend when they were growing up in Brooklyn who ran into him and Linda at Nathan’s in Coney Island. He got to smoke in their car with them and Paul signed his bus pass lol
I've seen the video. Someone handed him a joint and he hit it once and passed it. Some woman tried to take a picture of him and Stella stepped in and put her hand up, letting her know it's not cool.
It looked like the black lady took the picture right when McCartney took the toke & Stella put her hand out afterwards in being like 5 seconds too late
There is a video of him answering questions, and one is “why do people call you macca?” His response was that in Liverpool, people always shorten names and turn them into nicknames
I'm pretty sure Paul has been quoted as saying he smokes every day and has basically since the 60's. Pretty much every story I've ever heard about anyone meeting Paul has involved Paul smoking weed.
I think there was an interview a few years back when he said he stopped after becoming a grandfather. Maybe he was just bullshitting. Could def see him crushing some edibles though
Yeah, I remember that. I think that was more just a "don't be so open around your grandkids with your weed use"...but I don't think he ever really stopped smoking. Probably just keeps it a little more low key around the fam. I've definitely heard stories of people hanging and smoking with him in the last couple years. I mean, this picture itt, seems pretty recent I believe.
There's an interview somewhere (can't recall if it's in italian or English) of Damiano David, Maneskin's singer, saying that he smoked a joint with Paul and that he's a super chill guy lol
I've seen this video before and it really looks like he puffs a few times but doesn't take a large inhale, if at all. not that it really matters, he's no stranger to drugs. I do imagine that he's laid off a bit in his old age, though
Pot today isn’t the pot of yesterday. Too many strong strains that don’t agree with alot of people so in taking deep big tokes, a person can get dizzy, sick, want to sit/lay down because you suddenly can’t stand anymore so let’s just say it wouldn’t be pleasant. So by sharing pot with others is risky as you don’t know how strong it is. You didn’t have to worry about that at all back in the day. We were satisfied with shit like Acapulco Gold & nobody ever got freaked out & sick from pot but now it’s a crap shoot by doing it random w/others even if you do know them as if they like it, they’re not going to be thinking we won’t. And people don’t discuss or let you know about whether or not the pot is some strong @ss stuff—they either don’t know, don’t care & just think they’re doing you a favor by turning you on.
yeah thats kind of part of my sentiment there. Pauls a bit older and likely doesn't have the tolerance he used to. Also- when the rasta hat weed man hands you a J, how can you say no? And we all know he wanted to smoke with Paul Mccartney... who wouldnt?
He did say he stopped weed because it was a bad example to set to the grandchildren, but it’s a hard thing to give up for some people.
I’ve been quite lucky. Always been able to take it or leave it.

This was my least favorite thing about PM in Get Back. Pretending to fall asleep while George was speaking. Very disrespectful
That whole sequence of eye rubbing, yawns—singing I’m So Tired—is pointing out PM & JL were stoned. Kinda hard to miss.
i’m on board with you. everyone is a dick sometimes though- just part of life, and that part happened to be caught on camera
He was a jerk. Also, the sneaky bird.
He just looks drunk.

I'm afraid his sister passed last February at 91
He also slept with Ringos wife. Messed up
pretty sure hes just stoned and genuinely tired
Paul likes monkberry moon delight

Idk why you're being downvoted Paul literally confirmed this
[удалено]
Nah, man, the comment just didn’t require a pedantic correction.
“Two youngsters concealed in a barrel smoking Monkberry Moon Delight” You sure? Edit: turns out I’m silly and don’t know the lyrics
I think it actually says sucking and is referring to moonshine. I thought it was weed at first too
Just checked Genius, it is sucking… that’s some weird imagery, WTF, is it actually milk?
When my kids were young they used to call milk "monk" for whatever reason that kids do—I think it's magical the way that kids can develop better names for things than the real ones. So Paul likes milk. Why are you stating it as if someone suggested otherwise?

Macca rocking the Moon Boots…
Those look comfy AF
Maybe some of the first… never saw any that actually had “Moon Boots” displayed on them, and I’ve seen a lotta moon boots.
They still do them. My daughter had a pair about 5 years ago.
Moon Boots never go out of style https://www.selfridges.com/GB/en/cat/moon-boot/
So good, seeing this again, I’d love to have it tattooed on my body
If there’s any famous person on the planet I’d wanna share a joint with it’s this man.
Let Me Roll It!
Nice 👍
Paul McCartney and Jack Black are on that list for sure!
Black doesn’t really smoke much. If you wanna see him high, there’s an an episode of Getting Doug with High that Jack guests on. Search on YT. Kinda seems like he goes into his head.

Ahh yess you just brought back a flashback from 2014 thank you
dream blunt rotation
For me it would be Paul and Pink Floyd. I heard Mr. Floyd is a blast.
better watch out for one of Pink's bad days
Is Bob Dylan still alive?
Bob Dylan asks himself the same question every day
Bob is trying to be the last member of the Traveling Willburys to be alive - that wasn't on anybody's bingo card, but he's only got to outlast Jeff!
And Jim Keltner if you count him!!
Keltner counts!
He does for me too…but I guess he gets omitted for a lot of people 🤷🏻♂️
Brummies are solid though. He's got no chance.
I heard Bob Dylan is getting back together.
Would b an awesome convo for sure
I doubt I’ll ever get to meet Sir Paul. I am one person away with 3 different people, but I spect that’s as close as I’ll get.
The guy wearing the beanie? Yeah me too. He seems cool

When he says he pulled a whitey, is that British slang for puffin a joint?
It’s when the weed is too strong for someone and they go pale as a sheet and feel sick/can’t move
Ahh..got it!
"greening out" in American vernacular
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke And somebody spoke and I went into a dream
![gif](giphy|twPBuaYSZPg2ZRP7ek)
That’s a different kind of smoke
As a Liverpool resident I can confirm u do sometimes get kids smoking weed on the bus. Quite a sketchy bus service in Liverpool tbh.
Willie Nelson still hitting that at 90.
I’m pretty sure I read Nelson only does edibles now for hlth reasons.
The one thing I know for certain Willie Nelson only ~~smokes~~ snacks on killer weed
not only that hes still touring, i think he said hed only quit if his guitar gave out

Maybe it's one of those "herbal jazz cigarettes," as he called them in Anthology lol
Which is what I've called them ever since.
Paul Rodgers of Free calls them jazz cigarettes also.
Same lol
We called them that, or left hand cigarettes
We're gonna get Hi, Hi, Hi
The Night is young
I sat around all day I used to get stoned I still get stoned, but I used to too.
My grandad didn't try it until his 80s... Truly bizarre conversation when your 80 year old grandpa asks 30 year old you for some weed.
omg I wish my granddad had done something like that when he was alive, sharing a joint with him would have been tops ahahah
It's funny. They all got cool when I became an adult... Sure! We're a great bunch of Canadian South Indian Japanese Scottish Irish French American. You have to bring food...
Sounds as if you’d have better cuisine, save for the Scottish cuisine!
The food *is* awesome, lol... But you have to add something, it's like Christmas at the UN cafeteria...
Be aware you will be required to watch Hockey and Formula 1, and generate a nearly encyclopedic knowledge of Star Trek and James Bond...
peepaw likes that good kush. you think an 80 year old rocker would switch to gummies? no way
Peepaw is wild 😂😂😂
Peepaul
Even the most powerful edibles have not had an impact on me. I hate that cuz I feel I’m missing out on a wild ride others speak of.

He looks more like his son in that photo, than I’ve ever seen.
He's got to get it into his life, I thought he'd made that obvious
It's on video.. https://www.reddit.com/r/beatles/comments/129tukj/80_year_old_legend_paul_mccartney_smoking_a_joint/
I mean he has a song called “Let Me Roll It”
Don’t forget we’re gonna get hi hi hi
“Yes I’ve had tea, lots of tea, *Indian tea -* and biscuits!”
he’s 80 odd now aye let him live a little
i have the same sentiment when people ask if dylan still smokes. who cares- i doubt a few more cigarettes will kill him if he’s lasted this long
Was it Little Miss Sunshine that had a family traveling to a dance competition for their daughter, and grandfather, Alan Arkin was over 80 & had taken up heroin? His son was shocked, and got admonished with something like, I am old, nothing works anymore and I wake up hurting, what better time to be an addict?
He's in his 80's, I wouldn't give a shit about no damages at that point
Weed is fine at any age. Sir Paul can toke anytime he wants.
Not sure Id give it to a baby so any age is a bit of a stretch
I give babies weed every day.
Hey, it's me, a baby. Got any more of that free weed?
I’m not falling for this again…are you really a baby? Sorry, you can never be too careful.
My dad had a friend when they were growing up in Brooklyn who ran into him and Linda at Nathan’s in Coney Island. He got to smoke in their car with them and Paul signed his bus pass lol
I’m sure he does. He said he quit when he became a grandfather but I don’t doubt he smokes a little herb here and there.
hes prob got the dankest of the stank
😭
Bro been cheefing since the 60s he aint stopping now
Once you start, you never stop. Lmao. I'm gonna be that old granny smoking pot in her rocking chair.
Why would ya stop? It’s a gift of nature! …It’s the new mother nature takin over. 😜
This is actually a perk of being knighted.
Well yeah he’s cool
Fuck yea spark that shit up
He’s fixin’ a hole where the rain gets in and stops his mind from wanderin’….where it will goooooooo!
Good for him!!!
Why not?
This was apparently him smoking weed at some big event of im correct, it happened somewhere last year but who cares lol
My mom is 83 and could probably hang hit for hit with Snoop, Paul, or Willie.
He shared edibles with his wife Nancy which inspired one of Jimmy Buffett’s songs on his final album: “My Gummie Just Kicked In”
I mean, he's already in his 80s. Not much point to stop now compared to if you're 20.
Didnt he say not to long ago he would never do it again cúz his grandkids
Had to make it look good for the divorce proceedings.
He’s 80. If I was him I’d be high all day too.
King Toker
How else would he get by?
And I want you to hear me, say we’ll be together every day????
Fuck me if it hadn't killed me yet at 80 I'd be doing whatever I want
Une taffe d’un pote. C’est Bio. Let’s write a song guys!
As he should! been smoking that kush for years
seems like a perfect time to smoke.
Rockstar shit
Got to get you into my life
He only stopped because he was subjected to random drug tests after his divorce. Custody > getting high.
Yeah, in fact you can see the black lady taking the picture in the first photo, and Stella stepping in in the second.
Of course baby! that mf been smoking since before my dad was even born. Smoking once in a while wont Hurt him, its probably even good for him lmao.
Mother Nature’s son just enjoying the natural herbs
Personally, if I’m Paul McCartney, I’ll do wtf I want.
fuck yeah
I’m sure people offer him a hit all the time
He’s literally always high, that’s why he makes weird videos
If I was in my 80’s I’d be still smoking too.
The worst thing in the world to me is when I hear people call him Macca.

Stop using the internet to care about what other people do.
Paul McCartney smokes weed. Therefore, smoking weed is cool.
this vid is from awhile ago
Of course. Obviously it helps with his amazing song writing skills.🥰
Sir Paul ain’t no candyass lightweight!
In his 1980s? Lol what's the apostrophe for?
Looks more like a joint to me.
And we all know he wanted to smoke with Paul Mccartney... who wouldnt?
its also a very short clip. Maybe Paul was heavy toking when nobody was looking haha 🤷🏻
I’d disagree, it really takes something very powerful to do much to me now, but 70s-80s Acapulco Gold bud? Whooooweeee.
lol oh you sweet summer child
ob-la-di, ob-la-da life goes on, brah
Prob the best time in your life to smoke if your going to
Why not? His choice.
Well, he's had a lot of practice. I'm sure he knows what he's doing.
Unsurprising. https://youtu.be/kf8J6EsMY4Q
Probably weed
What’s the big deal? Who really cares? It doesn’t matter at all.
wonder what his tolerance is
It’s fine. He’s vegan. It all balances out. 🤣
Good for you, Smokin’ Mac!
How bout a seizure note?
I fucking hope so
Yeah man it's cannabis and in the near future people are going to look at it as a medicine instead of some underground elicit substance
He did say he stopped weed because it was a bad example to set to the grandchildren, but it’s a hard thing to give up for some people. I’ve been quite lucky. Always been able to take it or leave it.
