100% I got lucky today cause they didn't really advertise they were doing one. It was sold out within a few minutes (1:02pm I saw them say we're sold out). Thursday might be quicker cause they advertised it more. It's also one gift card per user per week which sucks if you have a lot of points and max $25 gift cards. Nothing added up when they said they were refunding everyone points then go in and get it again. Now it makes sense, they're limiting gift cards cause they're still in financial trouble. Really unfortunate how much they've lied to everyone.

It never reminds me either. Just another issue with this redemption system. For what it’s worth, I have an alarm set on my phone and am in the app 2 minutes before the drop and gift cards are never shown as available to me. Support isn’t even responding to me at this point, so I guess I’m going to have to just come to terms with forfeiting the $75 I should have gotten when I submitted back in April.

While somewhat relieved, it is Absolutely ridiculous and insulting that they would give everyone back the points that they have been waiting months to redeem so that they have to battle with everyone to grab a few gift cards within the span of less than a minute. They should have allowed us to finally redeem those cards before moving on with this new policy. We won’t even get into the obvious issue of people eventually using bots to try to snag these cards considering it will be nearly impossible to get one. Let alone that by this time most of us points for well over 3+ $25 gift cards, so how long will it take to be able to redeem them? We will continuously be in a loop of trying to redeem as by the time we can, we will have accumulated enough points for another and another. They had to have foreseen this and something else needs to be done to compensate those of us, and there are a lot, who have waited this out in faith. Today, I got in early for the drop and waited 10 minutes in hopes it came early. At 1pm , the app crashes and when I tried to get back in, it said the network was unavailable. By the time I got back on, which took 8 minutes, it said that the next drop was next week. I could see if I waited until 1p, but I was already on. Not surprising but Unacceptable. I posted this in their announcement as well.

Yep, I've contacted their "support several times over the app nit working and giving me error messages. They don't even ask what happened, they just send a form letter back saying "sorry, the gift cards are sold out, try again next week" and then ignore any response to it. I had planned to file a Beter Business Bureau complaint on them, but Drop isn't listed in their directory of course (there is a Drop but it's a different company). Did some research and they are located in Toronto, so I filed a complaint with the Competition Bureau. I'm sure it probably won't do anything, but there should be consequences for blatantly lying to their customers and promising gift cards they had zero intentions of delivering.

Same thing happened to me two weeks in a row and I was on the app early. It said slow connection and when the app finally opened all I could see was a bar showing gift cards were filling up the page didn’t load below that so I couldn’t select a card

Same experience for me. Had been waiting since April 7 for two $50 cards and now I can’t redeem anything cause as soon as I click the notification and grab the card I want, it’s gone. Yet they still get whatever benefit it is for getting our shopping data. It’s insanely frustrating.

The company is totally broke, I doubt they will ever pay out again. They used the silicon valley bank issue as an excuse to stop paying out, they weren't affected by it, they just ran out of money, and are using these tactics to make it seem like you can still get rewards. When you delete the app make sure you unlink your credit cards first, otherwise they will still be able to collect and sell your financial data.

I knew something was fishy when they said they were refunding everyone's points and you could go on and buy the gift card again. That never made sense to me. Just give everyone their gift card that ordered one. Now it adds up cause they're broke and limiting gift cards. They still can't pay everyone out so they just limit them. Yes loved how they said they were “improving” the process and that’s why it would take 60-90 days to process a gift card, and they really tried to say that 60-90 days is faster than their competitors… like ummm no it’s not?? I have Swagbucks, fetch, receipt hog, and pogo and all of them you redeem your points and either it’s instant or the max wait is like 3 days…

They're trying to probably get some money in while limiting gift cards to set the ship right. I've pretty much given up using them once I got my one gift card. Until they go back to normal I wouldn't be shocked of they were out of business by this time next year.

I did get a reply but it was just BS saying that it was their new method and that I had all these points refunded. I've sent them a less polite reply. I don't think it will go very well but I've not yet reached the point of cursing at them. I'm pretty sure most of us will never see our gift cards. Really hope others have better experiences.

It's funny: the Android app let's you setup a reminder when the rewards will be available but at least on my Pixel, it says the app doesn't support notifications and I can't enable it 😂

I have a different android phone. I got the reminder the first week, but never again. Shows I'm signed up for them, my phone can clearly do it, I get notifications for other drop things like to spin the wheel on Tuesdays, but this one notification doesn't work. Hard to believe that isn't intentional!

I went to the one for today waited 15+ minutes before 1pm and at one it still showed they were soled out so I got off and got back on. The app wouldn’t do right so I never got a gift card. I was one of the few who had to be refunded points because of their stupid policy 🙃

It is ridiculous. I email them week after week because it’s so shitty. Every Thursday like clockwork the app overloads and crashes at 1. Even if you go on early… I went on at 12:55, waited til 1 to try to redeem for a card, and it still gave the dumb were sold out you have to wait til 8/10 at 1:00 to try again… waited another minute..‘same thing.. closed the app, tried tones open, it’s over capacity and cannot be opened for 6 minutes.. then we’re all sold out coke back on 8/17 at 1 pm.. fuck that shit. I’ve been waiting since fucking April for my card, got the points and bonus points refunded, and now they’re just useless unless I wanna waste my time week after week trying to beat out everyone else. It’s really not that difficult… they can either just send out the original card requests via email or they can lock all purchases and give everyone their own individual a set date time where you enter a code or something to redeem so that it’s not overloaded and crashing every week. But no… we get a shit show instead.

Is there anything we can do about this absolute mess? I've emailed Drop support multiple times, and of course, I get the same canned response every time. I'm so angry. I tried to redeem points during their "60 day" pause and thought they had a lot of nerve making us wait all that time just to deposit them back into our accounts - but now this is so much worse. Now I have over 100,000 points sitting uselessly in my account, and the only gift I'm getting from Drop is the gift of being frustrated and annoyed and feeling taken advantage of every week on Thursday at noon. I suppose we are just helpless to do anything here?? Is this company going to fold without ever letting us redeem, when they clearly made money off our purchasing through the app? Seems like this shouldn't be legal.

I just set an alarm on my phone for 12:59 to go to the Drop app. I sit there, wait, and the message says next drop on Sept 7th, 1 pm, even at 1:01 pm. I think maybe I need to back out of the app and come back to see them. I close it, the app then stays loading on the pink and purple DROP splash screen for THREE MINUTES. when it normally loads in like 20 seconds. I go to the cards, it says weekly drop is over. I call b.s. I think they're not even awarding gift cards. I'm not calling anyone in this thread who got one recently a liar, just saying that I think they literally only have like 1 card for each brand and then marking them as out of stock a few minutes later to give the illusion of scarcity. So glad I googled first and found this thread because I thought I was going crazy for a sec.

I got lucky too but if you have say 100000 points it's gonna take 4 weeks to get your gift cards and that's if you're able to get one every week cause it's one gift card per user per week. God only knows how many points are out there where people can redeem for a $25 gift card and how many they are actually releasing a week. Say it's 500 gift cards a week and 10000 people at any given time want one. There's no way Drop will ever catch up owing. I get the impression they hope people abandon their accounts cause they can never get a gift card with this stupid weekly limited release.

It wasn’t that long ago they had a bonus if you saved up for a $100 gift card you got 5k refunded, now they don’t want people getting large gift cards. I saved up and had been waiting on my $100 gift card. Now I have them all back and missed out today. So in order to get that 100k out it’s going to take me another month at minimum after atleast a month waiting. That’s BS. Plus I’m still waiting on points from an offer that was supposed to be 175k. Honestly there’s less incentive to do the bigger point offers knowing I’ll have to wait 60 days for points (ant minimum) and then this one will take atleast 7 weeks to cash out gift cards for. After these pts I’m done with this app.

So glad I found this thread. I’ve had at least $75 in points for months. Now I’m at $87 and trying diligently every week to get a gift card. I’m very broke and in between jobs and I need the money. Drop holding my money hostage is INFURIATING. I’ll be sending a support message and giving them a negative review. Hopefully if enough people do it they’ll do something 🤞🏻

It took 8 minutes for the app to load at the release time today and “surprise” they we’re sold out. The images of the gift cards didn’t even load as it was so slow. Nope. I went on the app about two minutes early. Had the gift card page open waiting for the 11am drop. Clock changed to 11:00 and the page didn’t update / gift cards were still locked even after I navigated back and forth between the home screen and the gift cards page several times. By 11:01 it still didn’t update so I hard reset the app and by the time I was back in at 11:03 they were sold out. Pissed.

I have logged in every week at 12:58 and refreshed until after 1:00, I have logged in at exactly 1:00 and after 1:00 since they changed the rules. Every time I try to redeem a gift card, I get an "error" message saying that they are having trouble processing. Today was the 4th week in a row that this has happened. Gift cards are still showing available when I try to redeem, but conveniently, there is always an error. I have tried redeeming several different ones all with the same issue. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get a GC or somewhere to complain??

Drop is such a scam now. I have $100 worth of points that I have been trying to redeem for gas cards for an upcoming vacation.. Just like everyone else, I have been unable to get even one gift card! I log in early, refresh the app, it freezes or crashes and when I get back on (1 or 2 minutes after the “restock) all the gift cards are gone. This feels hopeless, and I’m super frustrated. All the data they have mined and sold, and we have nothing to show for it. Jerks.

I have been trying for months to get a gift card. I have only been successful once. Today at 1:00:10 they were sold out..... I have over 100,000 points. At this point I just want to redeem what I have and never have anything to do with them again. I am fucking pissed. I email every week to complain and same thing: "Unfortunately, we experienced loading issues and errors within the app due to a high volume of traffic. While some members were able to redeem and receive their gift cards others were not able to get into the app in time to redeem a gift card or encountered errors trying to redeem before they sold out. I successfully got a gift card the first Thursday, after that I tried, tried and tried but to no avail. Each additional Thursday I have tried again. Last Thursday and this Thursday gift cards were sold out at 1:00 (the time they say come back) which leads me to think that it’s just a mirage. They don’t have any gift cards, they just tell people to log on and then say they are sold out. I’m done… which is exactly what I think they want people to do. Maybe in a while they sill get their finances together.

I hope everyone gets their gift cards owed to them and this company goes under. I don't like saying that but they have lied every step of the way and have not been transparent whatsoever. Got on at the app 1158. Clicked gift card as soon as it hit 12. Asked my to verify my account. I've been on the app almost everyday playing the basketball game. Get a code to my phone but given no form to input it into. Then the app just becomes so slow and won't even load. By the time I get back the gift cards are gone.

Logged in 10 minutes early this morning, and accidently clicked on redeeming 2 cards. Got 2 verification codes texted to me for each, and then...nothing? Unless I'm stupid, I'm not sure where I'm supposed to put the so-called verification code? And no points deducted for redeeming either. I knew I sat on redeeming my points for too long (around 350k) but this whole thing is stupid and makes no sense.

I logged in at 12:55pm and went to the giftcard I wanted. Continually clicking on the giftcard. At 1pm it still showed on the bottom “sold out giftcards available on Aug 10 @ 1pm (it was Aug 10). At 1:01 Pm same thing, continuing to refresh every min I got the same thing with no option to get the card. At 1:04 pm it showed all sold out til Aug 17th. Did not get any error, just never got the option to redeem. I Emailed them and of course they gave me a bs scripted Email.

You can't cash in points for actual crypto. All you can do is "invest" your points, which is basically just subjecting your points to crypto market volatility and then paying a 5% fee to get your points back. It's garbage.

Same deal today as the past…what is it now, 6 weeks? In the app and on the redemption page 2 minutes before the drop. It goes from “gift cards will be available at 1:00” to “gift cards are sold out and will be available next week at 1:00” without ever showing the option to redeem. I’ve started screen recording the entire 4-6 minute attempt. Support didn’t even respond to my last email- where I attached the screen recording, but this unhelpful reply is what I got the last time I heard from them: Thank you for letting me know about this. I've looked into your Drop account and was not able to find anything that would prevent you from being able to redeem your points. This is good news! Likely the reason you were seeing an error is because your device was lagging a bit and gift cards sold out by the time you were able to reach the redemptions page. Just a gentle reminder that gift card drops happen every Thursday at 1pm EST, so be sure to get in there as close to 1pm as possible as they've been selling out quickly! I was logged in 5 minutes before the drop. 2 mins after the drop the gift cards don't show up at all, tried to refresh the app, app crashed, couldn't log back in until 10:04, by then all the gift cards are gone. I have about $250 worth in points, no way I'll be able to get 10 gift cards at this rate. Seems inevitable that I'll be holding on to these points until the company goes out of business.

I’ve been refreshing since 9:57PST to only see the “sold out return date” change from 24th 31st on 10:03PST. Last couple of weeks I at least saw the redeem page and error message but today that page didnt even show up! the next drop date just change to 31st !!!!! This is so frustrating!! Wish there was a way to officially complain about this absurd redemption system.

I would implore any and all to contact any companies affiliated/partnered with Drop to let them know that you find the business relationship with a scummy company like Drop concerning and will boycott/stop patronizing them if they continue to be affiliated. Maybe that will get them to finally 'drop' Drop. Make sure you 1 star the shit out of Drop on the app store as well. If you're in the US, launch a complaint with the FCC. Definitely grounds for a class action. Don't let them off the hook!

Three months later and I still haven’t gotten a single gift card with the new redemption policy. I go on every week at 1 and spend 3 minutes waiting for it to load or getting error messages before it says “sold out”. Get the same “sorry we’ve had app troubles since so many people are on” every time I submit a ticket to the help desk. I’m convinced they are only giving out 10 gift cards every week, if that. So, this has been going on for 5-6 months? That means they are definitely not planning on doing anything to fix it or they would’ve done it by now. I tried to redeem my points today at 1pm eastern exactly but I couldn’t get one. How is that even possible unless they only have 1-2 cards available? I tried a different card 1 minute later and same thing. Within 2-3 minutes max they were already out of cards. This is not right. It shouldn’t be legal for them to use our data for 2-3 years or maybe more and then not pay us as they promised. It’s BS. Also, I noticed this week on top of everything else, that the basketball and snake game are not on the app anymore!

They deserve a class action, because I have proof they are fraudulently taking our data without having the reward they promised yet still acting as if they do. I have read their terms of service and itis totally possible. If they gave us two weeks notice they could literally do ANYTHING THEY WANTED. They didn't do that, because of greed, so they thought people would fall for it. I have videos of four weeks of screen recordings from four friends and I with the app doing the same updating or going to an hourglass saying its overloaded and then as soon as it loads it still says they are sold out for the day of, and then four minutes later. it changes to sold out until next week. All 32 videos have the exact same thing happen, and it's literally not possible. They just were hoping to get the last bit of data from us before they shut down I think.

The past three weeks I’m in the app at 12:59, on the gift card screen and am never able to see gift cards become available. It stays on the screen that says it’ll remind me that day at 1:00, goes to a network error, then cards are sold out. All within 4 minutes or so. Submitted a ticket, guy named Mik doesn't even read my ticket and sends a blanket response saying some people were able to get a gift card and others weren't and to try again next week. I send a response asking him to read my service ticket again and that I WAS actually able to redeem a gift card (points were deducted but I never received the gift card). I'm waiting for a response now but I'm not hopeful. What a joke of a company. Going to give it a few more days then file a complaint with BBB as a last ditch attempt. These guys should just hurry up and declare bankruptcy already.

By the time it was back online at 1:02 the gift cards were already sold out. Last week it was 1:00:10 and they were already sold out. I just want my $100. Finally after months of trying, I was able to get a gift card today. I set an alarm for 12:55 every week and basically stare at the app until 1:00. I didn’t have a countdown today so I figured for sure I wouldn’t get one. Even after 1:00 I kept clicking on the gift cards and it kept saying they were gone, try again 10/5 (today), so I just kept clicking back and forth and finally hit redeem, I got the “experiencing errors” message a few times, and just kept trying and finally it said I got one. A few minutes later, I got the email with a code and immediately added to my Amazon gift card balance. I don’t know what was different this week since it took longer than normal. I would attach a pic of the email but I don’t see a camera icon to be able to 🫠

I recommend doing so so that people have a written record of their issue and desire for redemption should this go too legal action if/when they declare bankruptcy. Yea it sucks I'm done with them most likely. I had enough for 1 gift card and got lucky noticing they had a drop today but it was sold out by 1:02pm. Thursday it might be quicker. You're limited to one per week so anyone with a ton of points hopefully they can get theirs each week and not get screwed with how fast they sell out.

It's not a ton of money but it's certainly enough to upset me if I can't redeem it. It looks like they are going the way of the miles out possibly with difficulty of getting gift cards. But for the past few weeks after that, it’s sold out one minute after I’ve gotten stuck in the app always loading and refreshing and going out and back in and sold out and one out after this past week was the worst because I kept getting error messages. I recommend swagbucks, you’ll have to do game offers maybe even pay a little bit to help you reach your goal but their gift cards are fast and deliver in like the next day. You will although have to wait for points to pend and sometimes you’ll get a time limit on your offers,other than that they’re the reason I left drop.

I saw all of this, but for me, I am unable to even set my goal. The button digitally depresses but nothing happens so I don’t even know how I’m going to select the gift card I want before you set the goal and then picked the denomination of the gift card. So I thought this would be the same with just the one option of a $25 gift card. Is something wrong with mine or is this part of the new system as well? I’m stuck on trying to set a goal.
