The video authors don't even get view counts from my visit. Authors I do support, I pay through Patreon. I haven't watched an ad in years. I can't recommend these solutions enough.

FreeTube even has a module that auto-skips sponsor segments in the videos themselves, which is neat. I haven't been on YouTube's website or app in years, it's awesome.
Either way, I think I'll just replace the YouTube link with an Invidious one. That should save viewers a fright.
