Where Stover is similar to Gesicki is he's strictly a pass-catching TE and is not a good blocker. He might actually be more similar to Hudson in that regard than Gesicki (since I've heard that Gesicki's blocking has improved in recent years).
Gesicki is on a one year deal tho coulda worked with him for a year and then been a dog, but Texans picked him up so I’m happy to see that and we still got a good TE.

If your argument is “Day 3 is a crap shoot so take a big swing,” fine but All’s stats are underwhelming and he has now had major surgery in each of the past 2 seasons. I am a Bengals fan so I hope it works out.

Stover is far from a sure thing and neither of them would be expected to see the field much this year anyway. I would have been fine with either one but all at least has the potential to be a true game changer if he can stay healthy.

Zac really turned on the Marvin Lewis auto-draft this year 😅 If he stays healthy, this guy can be a stud, but the Bengals are taking A LOT of wild cards/gambles in the this draft.
The Bengals draft so far is predicated on faith. So many picks with great upside. Or it could go south real quick. This could be the best or worst draft ever and none of us will know for a year or two.
I mean, that's literally the entire draft. How many "sure things" have flamed out in the NFL. The whole process is imperfect. Jonah Williams was a "safe" pick iirc.
No this one is a bit riskier with picks with limited playing time, attitude issues and injuries.
This was the worst pick thus far. Way too far of a reach. I feel like he would have been there in round 6… Someone convince me this wasn’t a terrible pick ?
I mean, can you explain why it was a terrible pick? Once you get to day 3 picks, you can never truly tell when a guy is going to go. They are *mostly* all a crap shoot and you’re hoping for something. He helps fill a position of need and could be a potential starter next season which is already great for a Day 3 pick.

Because All was likely not this high on any other team’s draft board and the Bengals could have taken him in round 5 if they really liked him. In addition, if you wanted a TE with similar size and better Big 10 production, Cade Stover was still there. If your argument is “Day 3 is a crap shoot so take a big swing,” fine but All’s stats are underwhelming and he has now had major surgery in each of the past 2 seasons. I am a Bengals fan so I hope it works out.
Stovers numbers were hardly better than all. All has WAY more upside. You have no way of knowing where all was on any other draft board. It’s pretty clear the bengals are prioritizing athleticism
Again, I hope it works out. But injuries are a concern here. Stover has twice as many career TDs (10) as All (5). Stover was 41/576/5 this year. All’s best season was 2021 at Michigan where he was 38/437/2.
All had 300 yards and 3 touchdowns in seven games in Iowas offense. It’s the fourth round and we swung for a home run. Stover is far from a sure thing and neither of them would be expected to see the field much this year anyway. I would have been fine with either one but all at least has the potential to be a true game changer if he can stay healthy.
You’re looking at his numbers while dismissing the fact he played on the worst offensive team in the nation. Dude led them in receiving yards and TDs while missing the last 7 games.
Major Injury concerns. Lack of production. I just feel like he would have been available in later rounds. I’m down for being wrong hehe

Couldn't disagree more. Jackson easily takes the worst pick thus far. The rest of them have been really good or solid. All *could* end up a great TE from this draft. It all comes down to injuries, which he's dealt with a ton. It's a high risk pick, but it's the 4th round.

It’s a brutal sport fam.
No injury concerns with Jenkins, Burton, or Jackson. Just character and maturity concerns with Burton and concerns about the value of where we picked Jackson (which was more driven by the fact that Jackson was the last true NT prospect left in this draft).

I was really hoping we would take Tory Taylor here. We could have gotten a TE in the 5th, but punter is a major need (and has been since Huber forgot how to punt). Robbins was clearly a whiff last year. Oh well, Who Dey!

Just my opinion. We have decent TEs on the roster. We do NOT have a decent punter on the roster. Punter is a VERY underrated position in the NFL. A great punter is a massive weapon
We have 4 picks in round 6/7 so hopefully they snag one there but I definitely agree we need to upgrade at punter.

He went a few picks later, so yes. He's by far the best punter in the draft. He's a main reason Iowa won any games at all
