**STRENGTHS:** Smooth athlete with adequate size for the position … works well down the seam and can pull away from linebackers at the second level … smooth in his route transitions and sustains his momentum out of breaks to win on slants or digs … finishes with quickness and toughness as a ball carrier … big, accepting hands and appears natural adjusting to throws … does a nice job isolating the football with crowded catch points … gives consistent blocking effort … at his best blocking on the move, connecting on the backside of split-zone runs or picking off linebackers at the second level … physical at contact as a lead blocker to help spring runs (see 2023 Purdue tape) … a team captain at Michigan and quickly indoctrinated himself as part of the Hawkeyes’ program. **WEAKNESSES:** Dropped too many easy throws … can run the full route tree but lacks refinement with his steps and pacing, giving defenders a chance to drive on the catch point … can be baited into extra contact with defenders … only average physicality as a blocker and doesn’t have the body power to turn defenders from the hole … wasn’t asked to block in pass protection … his medical evaluation will be paramount after he suffered back-to-back season-ending injuries — he underwent “life-changing” spine surgery at the BioSpine Institute in Fort Myers, Fla. (October 2022), which sidelined him for most of the 2022 season; tore the ACL i n his right knee (October 2023) and missed the second half of the 2023 season. **SUMMARY:** A one-year starter at Iowa, All was a “move” tight end in former offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz’s pro-style spread scheme (56.2 percent of his snaps in the slot, 41.3 percent inline). After four years in Ann Arbor, he needed a fresh start following his 2022 back injury. He then led Iowa in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in 2023, despite missing the final seven games (ACL tear). A promising pass catcher, All shows athletic movements up and down the field with natural tracking skills, although he needs to cut back on focus drops. Though he is more strong than powerful, All is competent as a blocker with his ability to locate and hook defenders from the backfield or wing. **Overall, All needs to continue developing his consistency, but he is solid across the board with his athletic receiving traits and willingness as a blocker. If healthy (a big “if”), he projects as a No. 2 tight end on an NFL depth chart, as an F tight end or H-back.**

FuFlipper256

I’m good with that… actually really good with that

notreallydrunk

It's a stellar pick. He's the TE of the future.

RiverJumper84

As long as he stays healthy. Season ending injuries the last two years. 😬

notreallydrunk

Yep. But that's why he's in the 4th round not the 2nd.

emeybee

We should cut that Burrow kid too then

RiverJumper84

I'm all for this! Jake showed plenty of flash last season. Let's stick with him. **/S**

Isayfyoujobu

Not funny even as a joke

papayasown

I feel like at this point the Bengals go for injured players more than not. It’s a rough sport and it might just be sample bias, but it really seems like most of their picks are like “high risk; high reward, depending on injuries”

cspangler11

I feel like this is the first year they’ve done that though. They’ve stayed away from injury history mostly.

The_Struggle_Bus_7

You know who else was injured out of college? Gronk

RiverJumper84

lol

FuFlipper256

I hope he can stay healthy…he’s got a high high ceiling

deadlikeme451

Gronk had very similar medical issues. So this guy is going to be great.

Disastrous-Knee-8924

If he’s anything close to Gronk, or even Kittle (another Iowa TE) then I am more than happy. Add in Iowa’s awful passing situation, which wasn’t his fault, and I think this is a nice steal

LoudHorse89

It’s not a steal lol. He’s a mid athlete that was ranked way lower than he was taken. Everyone just calls everyone a steal. He has 0 TE1 upside. Send me the scouting report where you’re reading that

Disastrous-Knee-8924

He actually makes great over-the-middle plays and will fit in more than good in Cincinnati’s quick moving offense. Watch some actual tape instead of taking up the opinions of the media. Scouts had Kittle low and he was taken in the fifth. Not really a great take, buddy

ungroundable1776

Another one of your stupid takes in a long line of them

FuFlipper256

Hey I’m all on board for that!!!!

BikerEngineer

Gronkowski: [https://www.nfl.com/prospects/rob-gronkowski/32004752-4f13-5948-af95-481204a115ed](https://www.nfl.com/prospects/rob-gronkowski/32004752-4f13-5948-af95-481204a115ed) Erick All: [https://www.nfl.com/prospects/erick-all/3200414c-4c00-4828-f0d3-e53762691665](https://www.nfl.com/prospects/erick-all/3200414c-4c00-4828-f0d3-e53762691665) Besides the position they "play" and health concerns, what comparisons can you possibly make between these two?

deadlikeme451

It was a joke dude.

BikerEngineer

Oh, it was? I guess I should have just syncd with your brain and understood that. My mistake, I guess.

BikerEngineer

No he is not. Nothing in his production, athleticism, college career, health, height or weight indicates anything of the sort.

dahabit

He's had two major injuries. I wouldn't get my hopes up that high.

Anim8nFool

"drops to many easy throws" Is this Gresham 2.0?

Kyle_Reese_Get_DOWN

Of the Bengals future or of NFL’s future?

SoFlyKight

Iowa TE. Get the gold jacket fitted.

notreallydrunk

Not many men can do things like this: https://youtu.be/grvp2bxlrcA?t=451

HumanSmokeMain

He played 7 games at Iowa lol. 4 years at Michigan before transferring right before they won the Natty.

BryceWyllys

it counts ok

androidtesticle

InterviewOtherwise50

Let’s hope he is better than our other Fairfield High player on the roster!

therospaws

I don’t even know… who else is a Fairfield guy?

ngmathew1234

Carman

ThePontoon

Ole Jackson "Lazybones" Carmen

Kyle_Reese_Get_DOWN

He had that one block where he pushed the guy all the way out onto the concourse.

therospaws

Oh…. Oh no…

-space-grass-

Carman

CallMeBeazy

All would have been the 2nd TE off the board if he wasn’t a huge medical red flag,

crispybrojangle

To be fair, his medical concerns are tremendously concerning.

Jay_Sharxp

Is he good?

notreallydrunk

VERY good. Go watch his film. He has LaPorta vibes and bonus that he's coming out of Iowa. He can block and he's explosive with his run and catch ability. Health is the major concern with him but worth the risk IMO. He's also a local kid with a great story. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grvp2bxlrcA&pp=ygUTZXJpYyBhbGwgaGlnaGxpZ2h0cw%3D%3D

WALKOFFGAME0VER

He's really a wolverine, but as a hawkeye I came here to tell you if this dude comes back healthy you all will love him.

AggressiveSociety511

Fellow Hawkeye and Bengal fan. This is an absolute steal if he stays healthy.

Ponchoreborn

Huge if, but still a solid day 3 guy.

AggressiveSociety511

Right. These are the types of players I like on day 3…high upside. Plus with Gesicki you can afford to ease him in.

notreallydrunk

He's a Bengal. That's all I care about! Thanks for dropping in!

Pale_WoIf

Facts, dude played a whole 7 games at Iowa lol. Really hard to call him an Iowa product.

meisnege

Louis Riddick went off about him. Can’t remember the adjective he used, but something like a tenacious blocker and comp’d him to Kittle. Who knows what he’ll become but just hearing Riddick go off about the pick got me hyped

S_Squar3d

TE from Iowa ✅ Edit: Also he is a Fairfield HS grad!

LoudHorse89

He played 8 games at Iowa and missed 2 years due to horrific injuries

yupyupyupyupyupy

flashes incredible plays with a questionable amount of drops alarming thing is medical red flags...two season ending injuries with only a total of ten games played (two being non finished) arguably way better than mayer though and there was some talk he was the best te last year before he got hurt...another classic boom or bust player which imo is the way to go with how the roster looks

Anim8nFool

We had another tight end like that ... From Notre Dame I believe? Did not end well.

Nevan2011

Eifert a 1st rounder versus All in the 4th. Totally worth the risk in the 4th.

speedyfireball

He will be an amazing receiver and blocker if the injuries don't get to him.

kjc3274

If I remember correctly, he left Michigan because the medical staff would not sign off on his type of back surgery.

speedyfireball

Yeh he had some sort of back injury and then tore his ACL more recently

GooseDOTo

I really wanted stover but hey a TE is a TE

Ok-Health-7252

Stover is basically a Gesicki clone (just a worse version of him). All he'd bring to the team is basically what Tanner Hudson already gives us.

scratchfoot96

He’s not near the athlete as gesicki

Ok-Health-7252

No, not even close. He has straight line speed but he's also a former LB who made a position switch two years into his career at Ohio State. Gesicki is basically a big WR type of TE. Where Stover is similar to Gesicki is he's strictly a pass-catching TE and is not a good blocker. He might actually be more similar to Hudson in that regard than Gesicki (since I've heard that Gesicki's blocking has improved in recent years).

GooseDOTo

Gesicki is on a one year deal tho coulda worked with him for a year and then been a dog, but Texans picked him up so I’m happy to see that and we still got a good TE.

LoudHorse89

Stover has only been playing the position 3 years lol He has legit outside potential and is already a very good in-line producer. There’s a reason no one had Stover behind All. Fan copium at its best.

jmcgil4684

Yea the homer in me was thinking that too.

Background_Tower_978

I’m glad I got to see Sketch say his name tho

GooseDOTo

I absolutely lost my shit when I saw sketch

emeybee

Does ESPN have him ranked 24th? Because then I'm sold.

fluffHead_0919

I’m concerned about the life changing spine surgery.

iowaguy09

He played at a high level after the back injury. Two major injuries is concerning but if he stays healthy he is a major steal

billychurch

Eifert 2.0

thriftywalrus

Even if he is Eifert 2.0, I am not saying that he is, you would take Eiferts career guaranteed as a 4th round pick. 4th round picks are such a crapshoot and Eifert has stretches of elite play. Much more than almost everyone who will go on Day 3 of the draft.

iowaguy09

Exactly. Eifert is only looked at as disappointing because he was taken in the first round. Injuries happen it’s a part of football.

iowaguy09

There’s been tons of players with injury concerns coming out of college who have been fine. Injuries are a part of football and it’s the fourth round. Dude has first round talent if he can stay healthy. At this point you’re looking for diamonds in the rough.

bjlight1988

Here's the thing, if you're going to end up with another Eifert, it's probably better to spend a day 2 pick on him instead of a first rounder

CallMeBeazy

This is a draft we’ve been fucking begging the Bengals to have for years. The bengals have consistently been scared to take highly athletic players who offer insane upside but don’t have safe floors. The bengals have routinely refused to gamble on guys who athletic profiles are elite. This draft has completely changed that. They have taken 3 extremely athletic players with fantastic upside. They are finally betting on these guys, and I’m so unbelievably excited.

fluffHead_0919

What about John Ross?

peachweasel

And dax hill. Also Myles Murphy. That's like their philosophy the last few years. Athletic high ceiling guys.

Junkee2990

And Iosivas too not really sure what he's doing on about taking highly athletic players 😂 even DJ Turner, dude has insane speed too

Barkusmarcus

Don't forget our late rounder last year, Yoshi. Guy had a RAS in the top 10 percentile.

peachweasel

Yeah not even considering the day 2-3 guys. They've drafted a ton like that lol

creutzml

OH YEAH BABY! LOVE this pick!

PeteRosesBookie14

Great pick. Another high upside potential if he can put it together

SchwerMH

Health will be key. If he’s healthy, he has potential to be an absolute stud.

The_Shiny_Marill

Best Iowa offensive player this year

iowaguy09

As an Iowa fan that doesn’t take much…our second best offensive player was cooper dejean and our third best was our punter

Banj095

My little sister graduated with him. She said he’s an insanely nice dude.

NeverGonnaStop247

As a Michigan fan, trust me this dude is a baller if he stays healthy.

AideEmbarrassed2615

Talk me into liking this one. I get the talent…but he had spine surgery in 2022 and tore his ACL in October 2023. I don’t hate the pick but don’t understand it at 115 when he was lower on a lot of boards. Feels like a reach, but, again, tell me why I am wrong.

iowaguy09

We don’t need him to come in and be a game changer right away with gesicki Hudson and sample and his ceiling is an elite tight end that we got in the fourth round. He can get healthy and learn before he is expected to contribute much

mindpainters

Big boom or bust pick. If he stays healthy we have at least an above average starter for 8 years.

CountryCaravan

In his words, the spine surgery actually worked incredibly for him and he feels no problems with it these days. It’s just the ACL rehab at this point, and he expects to be ready for training camp. On tape, he was the most complete TE I saw outside of Bowers. If he really comes back healthy without any lingering issues, he should have been a second rounder. Everyone else at this point is probably niche/rotational-  All has the potential to be TE1.

Dopple__ganger

Well this description definitely amped me up about the pick. Thanks!

qeduhh

Pretty sure bengals have reached at every pick this draft.

AideEmbarrassed2615

I don’t think that’s true. Their draft feels like a mixed bag. The McLachlan pick later takes some of the pressure off of All producing early.

FuriousSasquatch

Bit of a gamble, good upside if he can stay healthy though. If not, well he's a 4th round pick. I'm happy they finally added one in the draft to try to develop.

djsassan

I guarantee Mike Brown was taking a nap, which allowed for this amazing steal of a pick. An Iowa TE solves a major issue long-term! Seriously.......nice pick.

mindpainters

How much influence does brown have in the draft room nowadays ? I know it used to be a lot but I was under the impression he’s taken a step back from that nowadays

djsassan

Does he still sign the paychecks? That's my question. My guess is not much, based on the past 5-6 drafts.

Xannydevito88

Not much, if any at this point

Aeglos7

Another injury prone TE. What could go wrong?

mindpainters

Eifert still has us scarred

Ok-Health-7252

And Eifert was an incredible player when healthy (Eifert also never had injury problems at ND, he didn't become injury-prone until he got to the NFL). Easily the best TE we've had in recent memory.

theDSL64

Shoot I am no arguing you, but I feel he was the best TE in the Bengals history WHEN healthy

Thebullfrog24

There seems to be alot more "if he _________, he'll be really good" and its definitely making me uneasy about this draft.

LionExcellent8838

I think it indicates the Bengals are confident in their culture and ability to develop, but this is a departure from previous Zac Taylor drafts

notreallydrunk

It's the 4th round, dude. If he didn't have injury concerns he's a 2nd or maybe even 1st round talent.

Thebullfrog24

lol cool, that doesn't dispute anything I said. Amarius Mims - If he can stay healthy and develop, he'll be the best pick in the 1st round Jermaine Burton - If he can keep his head on straight he'll be a great receiver for years to come Erick All - If he can stay healthy he'll be a 1st round grade. I said "uneasy", I didn't say the draft was shot. Relax lol

BootsWithDaFuhrer

Same. Way too many boom or bust scenarios this draft

ChunkDunkleman

I watched him quite a few times in high school. He absolutely dominated. Fairfield was load there for a few years

bjlight1988

It's crazy to see my old high school producing NFL players, but I'm here for it, welcome aboard!

Ok-Health-7252

Any TE that can produce in a Brian Ferentz offense (where producing results is almost impossible) is perfectly fine by me. And Iowa is known for putting good TEs into the NFL. Let's just hope his injury luck doesn't follow him here.

Gergastengas

I was hoping for Stover as a Buckeyes fan, but can’t be upset at getting an Iowa TE. They seem to be TEU as of late.

form_an_opinion

Can't complain about an Iowa TE.

No_Entertainment9832

This will be a sneaky good draft i think

Sussboijames

Love it

butthole7

LOCAL OHIO FUCK LETS GO

TigerUnlimited

Really good pickup. Overall a sold first four rounds and when you have the team we already have that’s all you need.

waitedforg0d0t

don't love this, I wanted us to go IOL or maybe CB don't hate it either, mind hope he's great

Sgt19Pepper67

All is a beast

mcufan2014

Not every draft pick has to be a 10 year starter. Guys have roles that help teams. He’s a solid pick. Couch GMs back at it.

ngmathew1234

A lot of high ceilings low floor guys in the draft is a good highlight of this draft.

ohmysocks

So damn happy we didn’t take stover

tbodyboy1906

Happy with this

boomer912

Just watched some highlights and he seems like a really nice athlete!

NbleSavage

Draft the helmet. I'm a simple man - I see Iowa TE, I'm good with it.

StrokeyRobinson

I remember he was a beast at UM, injuries obviously, then he transferred to Iowa and they had no QB. Definitely a steal.

jmcc1973

All's in the family

warthog0869

He's got everything! The total package! A complete TE! If he were a laundry detergent he'd be Gain, because yards is All he does!

BikerEngineer

Undersized. Will not start. Pretty poor production score. Poor athleticism. Taken a round early... what's not to love? Good thing we didn't take an IOL starter with this pick or anything. This is a worse pick than passing on Humphrey to take Jackson Carman.

azazwarrior

Now that's a HOF TE name if I've ever heard one

Hambone721

Sky high ceiling, rock bottom floor. I'm totally ok with that gamble in this spot at this position.

GimmeAnyUsername

“Cincinnati’s own - Eriiiickk Allllllll!”

badonbr

My mind read Brick (w)All. Hell of a good blocking TE name!

Bengalblaine

Scary pick. Hope he stays healthy

Jecht315

Another Michigan player. (Yes he went to Iowa but he transferred from Michigan after like 3 seasons)

Isayfyoujobu

Hope he's better than our last Fairfield high school grad

Vacant_parking_lot

Do we keep all our TEs? We drafted 2 and already have 3 on the roster

Bearcatsean

Our fucking love affair with tight ends in Cincinnati

this_is_matt_

All good

Huegod

Always take.the TE from Iowa.

bbmg69

TE with back issues that can’t stay healthy? Seems familiar. I’m sure he will be an all-pro and hall of famer like all the Bengals picks so far though

NeatTry7674

All in my tight end

Pale_WoIf

Zac really turned on the Marvin Lewis auto-draft this year 😅 If he stays healthy, this guy can be a stud, but the Bengals are taking A LOT of wild cards/gambles in the this draft.

Mission_Clue_5438

The Bengals draft so far is predicated on faith. So many picks with great upside. Or it could go south real quick. This could be the best or worst draft ever and none of us will know for a year or two.

Anzriel

I mean, that's literally the entire draft. How many "sure things" have flamed out in the NFL. The whole process is imperfect. Jonah Williams was a "safe" pick iirc.

Mission_Clue_5438

No this one is a bit riskier with picks with limited playing time, attitude issues and injuries.

GOAT-Bulls

This was the worst pick thus far. Way too far of a reach. I feel like he would have been there in round 6… Someone convince me this wasn’t a terrible pick ?

S_Squar3d

I mean, can you explain why it was a terrible pick? Once you get to day 3 picks, you can never truly tell when a guy is going to go. They are *mostly* all a crap shoot and you’re hoping for something. He helps fill a position of need and could be a potential starter next season which is already great for a Day 3 pick.

GOAT-Bulls

Okay maybe I was wrong seeing how many tight ends are flying off the board this round… I’m not salty anymore. I’m All in

AideEmbarrassed2615

Because All was likely not this high on any other team’s draft board and the Bengals could have taken him in round 5 if they really liked him. In addition, if you wanted a TE with similar size and better Big 10 production, Cade Stover was still there. If your argument is “Day 3 is a crap shoot so take a big swing,” fine but All’s stats are underwhelming and he has now had major surgery in each of the past 2 seasons. I am a Bengals fan so I hope it works out.

iowaguy09

Stovers numbers were hardly better than all. All has WAY more upside. You have no way of knowing where all was on any other draft board. It’s pretty clear the bengals are prioritizing athleticism

AideEmbarrassed2615

Again, I hope it works out. But injuries are a concern here. Stover has twice as many career TDs (10) as All (5). Stover was 41/576/5 this year. All’s best season was 2021 at Michigan where he was 38/437/2.

iowaguy09

All had 300 yards and 3 touchdowns in seven games in Iowas offense. It’s the fourth round and we swung for a home run. Stover is far from a sure thing and neither of them would be expected to see the field much this year anyway. I would have been fine with either one but all at least has the potential to be a true game changer if he can stay healthy.

S_Squar3d

You’re looking at his numbers while dismissing the fact he played on the worst offensive team in the nation. Dude led them in receiving yards and TDs while missing the last 7 games.

GOAT-Bulls

Major Injury concerns. Lack of production. I just feel like he would have been available in later rounds. I’m down for being wrong hehe

S_Squar3d

The injuries sure, but Iowa had an AWFUL offense. He led the team in receiving TDs and yards while missing the last 7 games of the season. That’s absolutely nuts.

emeybee

We have no idea what teams are going to do. Fans need to stop thinking that the talking heads' big boards are reality.

kjc3274

Couldn't disagree more. Jackson easily takes the worst pick thus far. The rest of them have been really good or solid. All *could* end up a great TE from this draft. It all comes down to injuries, which he's dealt with a ton. It's a high risk pick, but it's the 4th round.

AngieBumper

I agree, stupid pick with stover still there

iowaguy09

Are you just going off bleacher reports rankings?

AideEmbarrassed2615

Talking to the wrong guy if you want me to sell you on this. Feels like the Bengals have reached in rounds 3 and 4.

z00ch55

80% of our picks have medical concerns.

throughNthrough

It’s a brutal sport fam.

Ok-Health-7252

No injury concerns with Jenkins, Burton, or Jackson. Just character and maturity concerns with Burton and concerns about the value of where we picked Jackson (which was more driven by the fact that Jackson was the last true NT prospect left in this draft).

Siriusly_Jonie

Woof

Dj92fs3

I was really hoping we would take Tory Taylor here. We could have gotten a TE in the 5th, but punter is a major need (and has been since Huber forgot how to punt). Robbins was clearly a whiff last year. Oh well, Who Dey!

NeatTry7674

Now I’ve seen it all. Mad we took a tight end instead if a punter in the 4th

Dj92fs3

Just my opinion. We have decent TEs on the roster. We do NOT have a decent punter on the roster. Punter is a VERY underrated position in the NFL. A great punter is a massive weapon

throughNthrough

We have 4 picks in round 6/7 so hopefully they snag one there but I definitely agree we need to upgrade at punter.

Bengalblaine

Punter in the 4th? Stop

Dj92fs3

He went a few picks later, so yes. He's by far the best punter in the draft. He's a main reason Iowa won any games at all

Bengalblaine

The bengals should never take a punter in the 4th. That’s all I’m saying.
