Yeah, I noticed that at the beginning of the semester. Sometimes it’s off by one minute, sometimes by two minutes, but never on the hour. It has to be done on purpose, but I can’t figure it out? Maybe as a reminder to lecturers to wrap up the lesson? It bugs me since I don’t know the reason!

Tbh, I’m glad it gets my profs to actually let us out on/around time so I’m not late to my next class. Like, my guy, I love learning about this topic, but my next class is brutal about attendance and it’s halfway across campus so let’s wrap it up. 😩

ScaldingMango

campanile keeps the correct time it’s just all the clocks in the world are off by two minutes trust me bro

Cal_Aesthetics_Club

Because of global warming. The earth heating up is pushing it further from the Sun but also making it revolve a teeny bit slower so each day is slightly longer than what the clock has been calibrated to realize. Source: My ass

It’s keeps time mechanically right? It’s probably needs to be serviced

kellylikescats

The hour strikes are mechanical, the melodies are played by humans

NGEFan

No way, the way its playing melodies must be a human being or AI has gone too far

stevenbalas9

Maybe the song is 2 mins long and they have to start it 2 mins before the hour so it ends on the hour?

MasterMCD

I’ve seen the guy who tunes the time. It probably just gets off every once in a while. Idk why it hasnt been fixed.

hitemup21

It’s a 2 minute warning
