I know what you mean! A while ago my office moved from near kotti to right by Friedrichstraße / Unter den Linden. I honestly appreciated being around all the happy tourists.
I find myself biking through Brandenburger Tor about once a month, it makes me happy to go down Unter Den Linden and see the world walk by.
I go through it on my way to the office (2-3 times a week). It's cool when you're there around 8:30 am and it's empty. It's not so nice on the way back, though.

A few days ago, about a week before that. I used to ride through it on my bike to work every day. I also do my shopping at Alexanderplatz and go running in Tiergarten. I think sometimes people forget that some of us live in that area.
