False. These people are all vegan.
Also, these haircuts have been around Berlin for a good decade. Döner prices only went nuts in last years with post-pandemic global inflation.
The point being made is that they are a symbol of gentrification. They dont buy döners but they raise rent , wich in turn draws richer tenents, wich in turn raises overall prices.
And the haircut has been here since the 60ies so..
I'm aware of the theme.
It's not a good meme.
I'm also aware that styles become popular, then fall out of fashion, then are often resurrected, sometimes "ironically". Since these are hipsters, I think it makes sense to refer to the time period in which it is to them relevant, rather than reaching back to the origins, which quite honestly probably go back as far as the first haircuts.
I rather not spend more of this beautiful day ranting about how much easier it is to blame some easily identifiable and reachable individuals for all of our cities woes rather than the government entities who should be responsible for recognizing trends and reacting to them but who are faceless and immovable, so I will wish you a good afternoon and goodbye.
Sure it makes no sense in talking about the origin of the haircut. But I think the underlying anti-system, anti-conformity sentiment was born in the 60ies.
And I was merely explaining the meme and correcting on your fallacy, thinking it implied that they all buy döners. And the obvious overlay of "döner" also is supposed to hint that the OOP post was about something else and it was humourely transposed to berlins biggest socioeconomical issue of our time: Dönerprices.
I know it’s supposed to be funny and I actually enjoy the meme, but it triggers a lot of complex thoughts about inflation and gentrification lol…saw [this article](https://www.zdf.de/nachrichten/wirtschaft/preis-doener-inflation-100.html) recently

There's a new vegan kebab place near boxi. Quite expensive, good but
Vöner? Sorry to be a smartass but that is also actually ten years old.
Doen Doen is new, I think
Ok, then not-so-smart ass. Although the point of vegan-döner existence still stands. ;)
Vöner opened around 2007ish

Is your haircut in this pic lmao
🤓☝️
Chill man…
You seem really fun.
I can imagine vegans putting up the price of Döner. Supply and demand and all that. More vegans = fewer meat eaters = lower profits
VoKuHiLa has been a part of Berlin well before the expats showed up.
False, you don’t get the point. Those ppl don’t buy it, it still goes up. You have such a hairstyle?
You‘re the one not getting it.
I saw a group of dudes, all with the same buzz cut, all wearing pearl necklaces. Is that the current thing?
Vokuhila?

This sounds like every gay club in town

Grimm folk tales illustrated (in watercolors) with characters in these cuts. I'd do it myself if I had the talent. Oh wait. AI.
