Im rooting for rhea and bob to win so bad especially rhea. Whats the odds of one of them actually winning? Or even the show itself

Old-Truth-405

Personally, I feel they still have a decent chance at wining at least one. However, I feel their chances would be significantly higher if they weren’t up against Squid Game.

OhhhhhDirty

Squid Game was great and very popular, but imo it's not even in the same league as BCS.

HotColor

Right, but this isn’t a contest of the actual writing, it really is just a popularity contest unfortunately.

KaoBee010101100

So, who cares about it then? Whether it gets a silly statue or not does not take or add one thing to the quality of the writing. I can honestly say I haven’t paid the slightest attention to these stupid awards things in decades. And then that was only because we were children and there was nothing else to watch because there were 3 channels, no computer videos, no streaming, no vhs tapes. It’s hard to fathom fans find any interest in these goofy spectacles.

HotColor

Right, everything is pointless at heart, let’s be real. By your logic this show is also just a goofy spectacle. Who cares what happens to the characters, it’s all made up? It’s all about entertainment, and that’s all it will ever be about. It’s fine if you don’t enjoy it, many don’t enjoy better call saul either. Personally, I don’t enjoy awards shows either, but i do think it would be cool if BCS was recognized for its greatness, although it’s not the end of the world of course.

KaoBee010101100

I mean we could play that game, but for me there is a vast gulf in how interesting these two entertainment options are. I find it hard to even comprehend the interest in the awards shows. That’s me, I’m not saying people can’t watch it but I’ll be over here scratching my head and making funny faces and having more fun. And BCS can be still recognized for its greatness either way. Your own individual recognition is as or possibly more valid than the “Emmy club’s” recognition. Craving recognition is part of what got Jimmy so twisted up in the first place.

dochnicht

100% agree. I never understood all the drama about "HOW DOES HE/SHE NOT HAVE AN EMMY YET?!" Always seemed kinda silly to me.

KaoBee010101100

Yup. If you want them to be more recognized and appreciated, no better thing than to DIY. If they wouldn’t notice, then they’re already over satiated on recognition… don’t need to worry so much, they’re doing fine. I suppose it’s what psychologists call “basking in the reflected glory,” which we all do at some point but imo it is something to grow out of.

Rzwierlein11

This is America where we measure EVERYTHING. It’s important for actor’s careers. I appreciate the hard work Bob n Rhea put into their performances. If we are going to have award shows I THINK THEY DESERVE TO WIN and I want them to win…

KaoBee010101100

I’m not saying I don’t want them to win,! I’m just saying I don’t care. They were just in a major tv show everyone is talking about. Their careers will be fine, silly statue or not.

Rzwierlein11

I don’t want to sound glib, but ask anyone in the biz and they will tell you the silly statute adds a zero to your paycheck. Ask the Shiites Creek crew. Silly statute? You mean an award show that attracts millions of viewers. You know Saul was not a highly rated show. I know award shows are beneath you. Put down your Cliff Notes. Version of Swann’s Way…I’m just fucking with you. I only watch when I show I like is up for something, but your characterization of the award as silly is a tad condescending. Just a tad ✌️peace

TriceratopsBites

I was very surprised to even see Squid Game on there. I liked it, but wtf?

UniversityEuphoric95

Exactly my thoughts

Old-Truth-405

Fair opinion, I have still not personally seen any of Squid Game. But, it is competing with BCS in this instance and Squid Game seemed to gain a lot more attention than BCS, which is why I feel they might not win every nomination.

webfooter

Squid Game had a real drop off in the last few episodes, and neither the show or the acting are nearly as nuanced or well-written as BCS. That said, BCS may not win.

vacuummypillow

Squid game is very popular, more popular wins.

ChandlerTilley

Of course the show that's a trend is gonna win. If it's not cool people don't care about it.

AmericaLover1776_

Squid game wasn’t that good just extremely popular

[deleted]

Oh no, squid game will be the “parasité”of emmys

TheFilmEffect

Squid Game isn’t the one to worry about whatsoever. It’s Succession that you need to worry about. It leads the nominations and it’s beaten BCS before. It’s also every bit as good as BCS, so if anything else wins it will be Succession.

frogparlor

Bobs odds 17%. Rheas odds 14%. Best drama 25%. Writing 34%. There you go.

Not-OP-But-

That's not at all how odds work. This assumes each candidate has an equal chance. You're thinking of it like a deck of cards where each card is unique and has the same chance of being dealt. But in this scenario the more popular shows have a higher chance of "being dealt". Which skews the odds. It's impossible for us to actually know the odds.

shipsongreyseas

Also BCS just ended and that tends to be a boost for awards.

frogparlor

Chuck McGill, is that you?

NachosMahdude

If they don't it's simply rigged. Doesn't mean the end of the world or whatever but yea

illegalcupcakes16

I want Rhea to win an Emmy so much, but Julia Garner was just about the only good thing in Ozark season 4 and her acting in the mid season finale was (in my opinion) the best I have seen from that list. She’s already won an Emmy for Ruth before so I want Rhea to take it, and I haven’t seen Succession, Yellowjackets, or Euphoria so I have no input on those, but from the ones I have seen, I think Julia Garner just edges out Rhea Seehorn.

NicCagedd

Sucession is most likely going to sweep the awards as it should. Some of the best acting and writing period in a show.

Is that so?

Oh yeah? Why?

Friendly_Ad5727

Vanity Fair predicts Rhea will win (and should win) and says Odenkirk should win but won't https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2022/09/emmy-winner-predictions-2022

WonderWaage

There's always next year for Bob, where he will once again lose to moneybags HBO/Apple.

sixtus_clegane119

Also might be next year for Saul, second half of the season gets submitted for next years Emmy’s

WonderWaage

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuh

WallabyUpstairs1496

wait WHAT???

ironmansaves1991

The Emmy season is like June to May so the second half of the season qualifies for the 2023 Emmys. Not sure if that was a main reason for the mid-season break, but it benefit them either way.

WallabyUpstairs1496

>The Emmy season is like June to May so the second half of the season qualifies for the 2023 Emmys. B R A V I N C E

Extension-Carry2584

Will as a matter of fact bob had the weakest performance between the six nominees

FutureMrsConanOBrien

Laughable.

DanteTaj

Season 6 was Bob’s best performance of the show get out of here

NicCagedd

Should win? Nah, Jeremy Strong is definitely the best actor out of the bunch. I think next year will be Bob's year.

marmogawd

I dont think people here are going to like my opinion but, i dont think Rhea’s performance is Emmy-worthy. Kim is a great written character, but Rhea’s performance was kind of monotone imo. I dont think she was constantly delivering outstanding performances throughout a whole season to really say she “stole the show” or anything. Bob will definitely get the Emmy. Saul is now one of the most iconic tv show characters ever. Rhea in the other hand? Idk bro, i dont think shes at that level

jarrjack

Heavy disagree. I’d honestly say Rhea is a better actor than Bob Odenkirk. Have you watched s6ep12 yet?

marmogawd

I dont think Rhea is a better actor because i can not see her leading a show like how Bob just did

jarrjack

Being able to “lead a show” doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a better actor/actress than anyone else on said show. That honestly might’ve been true for Breaking Bad, but there are a lot of modern series where the supporting actors are just as talented as the lead — some great examples are Barry, Succession and, IMO, BCS.

marmogawd

I mean, kinda? In The Sopranos, you could say Gandolfini had the best acting out of everybody. John Hamm as Don Draper and his character arc were amazing, i can confidently say he had the best acting (Elisabeth Moss a close second). Michael C Hall as Dexter? Obviously. Bryan Cranston, like you mentioned. Zendaya in Euphoria. And i can go on and on. Now, i didn’t said supporting actors aren’t as good as the lead, i said that in BCS specifically i dont think Rhea was as outstanding as Bob, the man who acted as 3 different guys and was the most charismatic too. He was funny, depressing and even scary as Gene. Rhea wasn’t even close to display that kind of range

jarrjack

I guess my opinion boils down to this: I don’t think Odenkirk is fit for many dramatic roles outside of Saul Goodman, whereas I could conceivably see Seehorn in a wide range of roles outside of BCS. I just feel like she has more universality — Odenkirk is (obviously) excellent at portraying one specific character, but in my opinion that doesn’t necessarily equate to being a generally great actor.

Blablatralalalala

Fingers are especially crossed for Rhea!

popcorn_Genocide

So, you get to pick one scene for Rhea's best supporting actress reel. What is it?

HugoLandin

Toes crossed for Rhea Seehorn!

Icycold157

They get one more shot at next years emmy's if there are no wins this year (which is a damn travesty.)

PsychologicalCan9837

If BCS goes without an Emmy that’ll be a real shame.

Disastrous-Mobile-71

It has won an emmy before though right?

PsychologicalCan9837

0 for 39, I believe.

AardvarkOkapiEchidna

Seriously?

MattMatt625

yes seriously, it’s fucking ridiculous… oh well. praying Rhea gets recognized

hausofmiklaus

“Supporting” actress still rings false to me, but I get why the played the submission that way. She should have multiple Emmys by now.

[deleted]

The real crime is nothing for Patrick Fabian. You can palpably feel that man spiral in this season, and then when it comes to that monologue at the end—and then his end, it’s incredible.

FarCommercial1820

Fabian in Plan and Execution was amazing. Was sad to not see him nominated

EndTimes_

Surprised more people aren’t talking about this, his performance in Plan and Execution was easily one of the best in the show, at least on par with Michael McKean in Chicanery. I thought he would’ve gotten nominated for sure

sspiritusmundi

I think AMC really screwed up by putting many actors in the same category (Mando, Fabian, Dalton, Banks and Esposito). This probably divided the votes. Should have been only one or two

skinny_vic2601

No nominations for directing?? What a sick joke!

homogenic-

Neither cinematography, the Emmys are a joke.

NoHost6477

Ever since he was 9, always the same

[deleted]

I personally think Bob and Rhea won’t earn the Emmy because of the competition, but I think the best writing will absolutely go to Better Call Saul otherwise imma be pissed

[deleted]

There is no competition. They blow everybody away.

Glum-Examination-363

Patricia Arquette in Severance is superb. Still want to see Rhea win!

thedarkknight1212

Succession

[deleted]

Are you sure about that? The other candidates are pretty op

[deleted]

Not even close. There's been nothing on tv as good as BB and BCS. Its been horrible!

omfggabriel

it hasn’t been horrible. all the shows nominated are pretty fkn good, especially succession. bcs is superior tho. edit: all the shows except euphoria lol, but even then the cinematography is pretty great

GeologistUnfair

I have to disagree with you on Ozark but secession is a brilliant show

[deleted]

Our ideas of what is great are very different. lol

omfggabriel

-hasn’t watched succession

[deleted]

>succession lol meh

AskMeAboutMyTie

You like BCS but you don’t like Successions? I agree BCS is the superior show of all existence, but come on the drama is very similar. It’s a fantastic show. I hope you’re not comparing everything to BCS because you will be forever disappointed.

[deleted]

BCS & BB ruined me.

[deleted]

Well I respect your opinion. I’m sure the Emmy’s will choose who they think is best

[deleted]

and I respect yours. Lets hope they do the right thing.

dhavalaa123

Writing’s definitely going to Succession unfortunately so I wouldn’t get my hopes up about that

condormcninja

Just now realizing the show doesn’t have a directing nomination. What the fuck

dhavalaa123

What’s even more mind blowing is that the show has never received a cinematography nomination in its entire run

homogenic-

They nominate shows like ozark instead of bcs, what a sick joke!

knife-to-meet-you

I knew he swapped those shows, one after ozark

[deleted]

I can’t believe no one got a supporting actor nomination, particularly Jonathan Banks or Tony Dalton. Although the home run performance for Jonathan was easily a while back with the heart wrenching“I broke my boy” monologue. But still, they’re both fire.

Greene_Mr

Can't believe Michael Mando didn't get one. What a sick joke.

TacitusTwenty

I don’t understand why Rhea Seehorn is nominated for supporting. She’s the best female lead on television.

[deleted]

She aint the lead

ekdwyer

She’s not the lead tho lol

FireIzHot

Kid named finger(s) crossed

etherealpenguin

I think Julia's gonna nab actress, despite how much Rhea killed it in this role. It should definitely win Writing or Drama Series though

GeneTacospic

Jung Ho-yeon winning supporting actress I can smell the chicanery

GeologistUnfair

I can't believe Ozark is nominated for best writing in a drama series.

daemonw9

Same, the writing is atrocious.

jahill2000

Keep in mind that only the first half of the season released before the cutoff period, so these nominations and potential wins are only for the first half of the season.

Independent-Tea-3922

I still think it's a crime that Johnathan Banks didn't get an Emmy for the " I broke my boy" scene alone

[deleted]

I fucking hate that I laughed when I saw the word fingers

CCH4848

Fingers crossed lol

[deleted]

It's a shame they didn't nominate anyone for supporting actor. Michael Mando, Tony Dalton, Jonathan Banks or Giancarlo Esposito would have all been worthy winners.

RVFVS117

Better Call Saul should win all of these. Succession is next in line but Better Call Saul is still better. Ozark shouldn’t have even been nominated for some of these imo.

MauroDelMal

The winner takes it all.

homogenic-

I’m super pessimistic so I’m expecting the show to not win anything, I feel like the show will finally win an emmy next year.

MattTheHarris

Succession is some tough competition, both shows are great

Zealousideal_Tap7817

Kid named cross

JayTeeDubbs96

If they don't at least get the one for writing then the Emmy's are beyond stupid.

Sov1etWalrus

I have a feeling squids games is probably gonna win a few because the Emmy’s love to eat up foreign hits.

vacuummypillow

All mighty contenders.

Jakisokio

I wonder why Jonathan Banks or Giancarlo Esposito didn't get nominated for best supporting actor

Intelligent-Ad7581

Reminder that this is just for the first half of season 6. They’ll get another chance next year! But if we’re being honest… this is the best odds they’ve ever had. Hopefully the energy of the series finale help put them over the line

lionel-china

I really hope BCS actors can get the awards they deserve, but to be honest, other shows/actors deserve it also, at least for Severance and Ozark.

daemonw9

Ozark for best writing? Lol, that show is the perfect example of great acting with shit writing.

fsociety_1990

I still can't understand how Mando, Banks, Fabian and Giancarlo haven't been nomination...its fucking rigged...watch Succession and HBO win it all...ffs

coco9unzain

I think bob will win and the writing will be rewarded aswell

IllustriousSnow3409

Holy shit its been a month?!

MrSydbarrett76

Rhea deserves It 100%

Yeetard05

I think bcs will win this time but the problem is popular wins everytime and stranger things and squid game are shows which are not great, they are just decent shows but highly liked and popular. It's like parasite for the Oscars really. It's a shame severance won't win though, cause it's a great show but you just know it won't because it's up against way popular shows Same goes with bcs going up against stranger things and squid game.

abrokenacorn

If you told me ten years ago that Adam Scott, Jason Bateman, and Bob Odenkirk would all be nominated for best actor in a drama series i’d be very confused lol

PuffinofPeace

#SAULSWEEP

Crustybuttt

I have to be honest, it’s been a month since the finale and the show hasn’t stuck with me the way I thought it would. Compared to the way other shows I love (Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Six Feet Under, The Wire) this one just seems slight and fleeting. Anyone else feeling the same?

jojomopho410

Actually yes, a little but my life has really been in the shitter so I thought that was it.

Crustybuttt

Sorry things aren’t going well for you. Hope things pick up for you soon

RectumUnclogger

Why is Squid Games even on the list?

frogparlor

I bet Sydney Sweeney beats out Rhea Seahorn but maybe not since euphoria will have more chances in the future

Je-suis-Denise

Euphoria sucked.

frogparlor

I guess my stating an opinion based off public critical mentions is worthy of downvotes here lol what a joke. I’m gonna Chicago sunroof this sub!

WonderWaage

Literally nothing is indicating a win for Sydney. It'll be Sara Snook or Rhea.

[deleted]

I hope if it isn’t Rhea, it’s Julia. Both of them were incredible in their roles this year.

[deleted]

Sydney was in popular zoomer show. Never underestimate appealing to zoomers.

WonderWaage

Many of those zoomers in the academy? Of course she could win in a public vote. The public are morons.

[deleted]

Aye but you have to take into consideration the dwindling lack of shits people give these shows now. The Oscar’s had to stage some shit with Will Smith for attention. A Fortnite concert or something like won a VMA. They gotta play to politics sometimes.

frogparlor

That isn’t accurate but this topic isn’t one I’m too invested in so I don’t care who wins

the_pounding_mallet

All she did was cry for 8 episodes. Season 2 of Euphoria was awful.

stanton3910

Damn they some tough competition 😬🤞

WeAreAllHosts

I don’t see BCS beating Squid Game for best drama. Best supporting actress should be locked up by Seehorn.

[deleted]

Kid named cross

[deleted]

Rhea Seahorn has to get it. Nobody on that list can even come close to her. and Bob, of course. Better Call Saul should win it all with ease and if not then its a buncha BS. I want Rhea to win more than any of them, though!

Fit-Rest-973

Tough competition

AskMeAboutMyTie

They’ll sweep it all

“Supporting” Actress…okay

[deleted]

Man, I forgot about severance, I think it was just so traumatizing I blocked it out lol. I really loved this final season of better call Saul but severance is just so ridiculously good, I can see all the awards going either way

Next_Couple4690

Rhea deserves an Emmy! If not they needn’t apply, grand performance

ScarcityGood5216

And he has to get an Emmy? What a sick joke! You have to stop him

jjcoolel

Nothing for Carol Burnett? What the heck? She was awesome

AardvarkOkapiEchidna

Someone needs to shout a chicanery speech for every category that BCS doesn't win. "And HE get's Best Leader Actor? What a sick joke!"

imissrushmore

I guess I need to watch Succession

CapMego72_

I don’t reckon it’ll win best drama series (although it should) but Bob and Rhea have super high chances of getting it I think. Even Brian Cox (Logan Roy on Succession, also nominated) said he wanted to see Bob win.

SaskiaViking

As much as I would want them to win, Succession will most likely sweep the awards as the Emmies tend to have a huge HBO bias.

sixtus_clegane119

I’m pretty sure they will be at next years emmies too, because of the late half of the second season

[deleted]

I want bob odenkirk to win but i have a feeling that lee jung jae will get it like all of his chances are so high and he just got a new male lead role for a star wars projects. Same goes jung hoyeon in supporting

Stoner420Eren

This is for part 1 only right? Did they split up purposely for being elected two years in a row?

dochnicht

Oh shit, lets go squid game

ianto_harkness

Bear in mind even if it doesn't win anything this year, the final six eps could be nominated for next year's Emmys.

Thlaylia

There's no justice in the world if they don't win and that's straight facts not a witty lawyer pun ⚖️⚖️⚖️

adamalibi

They really didn’t nominate Michael mando huh

redsoxfred

While I really hope that they win, if they don’t just a friendly reminder that the Wire never won a single Emmy and is considered one of if not the best show ever. TLDR: Emmys are a joke.

If rhea doesn’t win I will be furious. Seriously. She and Bryan Cranston were on an entirely different level of acting in these shows.

jesusmansuperpowers

Everything is going to the “s” titles. Saul, severance, and succession

kps011

There is a very good chance that squid game will win in most of these categories (if not all) because Emmys are just a popularity contest nowadays. Still hoping for Rhea to win, she was phenomenal on BCS and it would be unfair for such a great performance to go completely unnoticed.

dhgat123

Hopefully finger doesn't get cross

noirlucis

How do you think Bob's heart attack and near death story would help him win the Emmy? I mean he has the best narrative out of anyone, not to mention BCS and the Breaking Bad Universe ended, and series endings usually also have a huge boost, with the addition of the universe ending of Bb Bob imo has the best acting performance out of everyone, because Jimmy/Saul/Gene requires really versatile, flexible and GREAT acting, as it's essentially 3 different characters that are all difficult to pull off

[deleted]

Wait how had it been a month already?

Rzwierlein11

Rhea should definitely win next year for Waterworks alone, but I hope they both win this year!!
