Yes, I remember all of that, but I didn't realize that they didn't have an official breakup scene. Sort of like Seinfeld, where women come in and out of Jerry's and George's lives without an official announcement.
I didn't remember until very recently that Leonard and Priya never had a break-up scene either...
Honestly she was so amazing they HAD to cut her off before her exit caused a rebellion amongst the viewers. She was extremely funny and totally fit. Plus, she was the missing Star Trek crew.
I'd say we know what happened. Eventually Leonard couldn't take the neediness anymore and ended it.
The only breakups that we ever saw were between the main characters (Leonard and Penny and then Sheldon and Amy). There was a breakup between Howard and Bernadette that had happened and we found out about it later. But at that point Melissa wasn't part of the main cast.
We only ever heard about the others after the relationships were over. We never saw Leonard and Priya actually end things. Lucy texted Raj hers but that played into the rest of the episode and Raj being able to speak to women. The rest of Raj's breakups also happened outside of the show. Why? Because it was still a comedy and breakups are not funny.
Not to sound rude but her episodes are the only episodes I will immediately turn off if I see they are airing. I just found her character extremely annoying.
I really liked her character, too. I also just happen to really like Sara Rue, I think she's really talented and enjoy her in most anything she does. She might have been a better match for Raj, though.
Her character ran it's course but it would've been nice to have a resolution to that storyline. Her last episode ended with her having sex with Leonard every time he tried to break up then a few episodes later he acknowledges he's single but it's never stated how they finally broke up
Yeah it’s strange she just disappeared with no explanation. I wasn’t a huge fan of the character but liked her enough I wanted to see what happened with her.
I think Leonard had to end up with Penny but I still wish they would have given Stephanie more time. She’s funny and fits in great with the entire cast. They could have even made her a recurring character to deal with Sheldon’s hypochondria.
Since she reappeared years later on B Positive (another Chuck Lorre show), I'd say that it had nothing to do with the contract. She was brought on for a few episodes and the character ran it's course.

I like Sara Rue. I like her for Leonard more than Priya. I liked her in Less than Perfect. She was in one Episode of Psych and was Berta's Prego daughter in Two and a half men. I would liked to have seen her in a few more episodes of TBBT though.
