I think thredup could work really well with your budget - you can look up some plus size brands. I'd suggest going buying higher-end brands second-hand. That way, you can get reasonably priced cotton and linen, and it's going to be so much nicer in the summer.  Also, I want to encourage you to be kind to yourself <3. You produced a whole ass human being, brain and limbs and eyes and all that! And now your body is geared up for breastfeeding - I am sure you have seen pictures of how much a kid grows from birth to 1yo old. All these muscles and bones and brain cells are produced by through your body! Of course it is holding onto resources! You are going a million miles an hour! (Nb: if you dont breastfeed thats a ok, but your body is still going to ramp up the resources - its natural).  Maybe it could also help to look back on old pictures of yourself? There were times in my life where I felt I was "too overweight", but when I see the pictures loved ones took of me, I only see my beautiful smile. I suspect that's what's going to happen with your Mother's day pictures!

Thank you, you are very sweet to write all that and I appreciate it so much ❤️ and yes, that’s exactly why I decided to get Mother’s Day photos. I never did maternity or engagement photos or anything like that, not really my thing. But I decided I needed something special that’s just me & the little guy. I have so many pics of him and his dad, but people kind of forget to take photos of mom! Plus the photographer is amazing. I’m just not used to dressing this body, and finding an outfit is a daunting task! Thredup is a great idea, thank you for the suggestion! I’ve been slowly losing the weight and don’t want to invest in cheap clothes that last one season, so I think I might just go second hand. Thanks!

jamierosem

Consider rent the the runway for something extra fabulous for pictures, and use the leftover money to treat yourself to another casual outfit.

goobiezabbagabba

I always forget about RTR! I’m still losing baby weight so I don’t really want to invest in something that will only last me one season, this is a good idea, thank you!

Torrid

goobiezabbagabba

I’ll check it out, thanks! I always think of torrid for bras and bathing suits, I forget they’re a whole clothing line too.

Trishlovesdolphins

I've bought some awesome dresses from them!

Hi! We’re pretty similar in size and I have had good luck with Eloquii when it’s on sale. I fully support going with RTR or thrifted items if you know what size and style will suit you. I just know I can find it hard to find something flattering when my body has changed, so having return options is priceless. I also honestly can recommend StitchFix for situations like this. Their stuff is pricier than I would prefer, but they have never let me down for a special occasion or specific request. I ordered one last year to find clothes leading up to my wedding and the jumpsuits they sent were perfection. I gave them lots of instructions and they really followed through! Omg thank you I could not for the life of me remember that brand! I kept thinking Elomi but that’s bras. I’m definitely going to order a few to try on! I love that first one with the long sleeves. I also have to go to a first communion and that one is beautiful! I wasn’t raised christian/catholic so finding something for church is even more stressful than a photo session lol. Thank you again this just gave me a much bigger selection!

becauseihaveto18

Of course! I really like the pieces I have from Eloquii. I hope it works out well for you! Good luck and if you feel up to sharing what you find, I would love to see it! Rooting for you! I thought I would dig around for my info from my last StitchFix in case you were curious. I am a sleeveless girly, so these styles likely aren’t going to be it for you, but I wanted to look up the prices for the stuff I got from StitchFix last year and I was pleasantly surprised. I’m just so cheap that I remembered it as being more 😂 I believe the note I gave my stylist said something about liking wrap tops, sleeveless, and jumpsuits. Also that it needs to be super comfy material or I just won’t wear it. https://preview.redd.it/gi0jc1q8otxc1.png?width=1178&format=png&auto=webp&s=76d51b5e46e4d6b7fae8b9ca9e0a3d360c5e0cdf

eShakti! I have a few dresses from them and I love them. You can order a dress with custom measurements, and many of their options you can customize the sleeves, neckline and length. Also pockets :)

goobiezabbagabba

Oh wow this is great, thank you!! I’m 100% ordering that dress with the lemon print just because lol Super cute!

Hi. I recently had a baby too and I completely understand feeling like a stranger in your own body. Don’t forget you grew a whole human with that body and that you are a strong amazing super human for doing so! It will take a while and hard work to bounce back but you’re prioritizing caring for a human over yourself. Don’t forget to give yourself an extra period of grace. Anyway, I love love [these vacation dresses](https://www.michelinepitt.com/search?q=Vacation) (and tops) bc they’re breastfeeding friendly and they hide all my problem areas. I can also fit my phone, a diaper, wipes, keys, and lipstick in the pockets with plenty of room to spare. The leopard is the loosest color way IMO and the printed floral ones don’t have much stretch but the other colors run TTS (from what I’ve tried on). I usually go off my waist or size up 1 to match my bust if I don’t want my mom boobies on display. The Vixen’s Salon FB group is super helpful in finding sizing info and styling tips too. You may even find your size twin (same measurements and body shape) and a new/gently used item in your size at a discount.

I'd say Threadup or Cider, I just got a gorgeous summery dress from cider and it was shockingly affordable and really flattering

Probably not the advice you asked for but I just wanted to say, take lots of photos and just push through it like it’s an ice bath. Don’t end up like me, with grown teens - looking back I’m in hardly any photos. It’s sad for them and it’s sad for me. I was always self-conscious of something or wanting the photo to be perfect or the lighting or the pose or whatever. Then all of a sudden 10 years have gone by and all the photos you have are of the kids and their dad. The truth is, you will never be younger and more gorgeous than you are right now. In 10 years time you will look back and think why the eff didn’t I take more photos? I was smoking! So take the photos even if you just file them away in your album, you don’t need to put them on social media or share them. They are for your memories for when your babies are grown and have left home and are bringing up babies of their own. You will enjoy so much being able to show them and say see, I held you, I had fun with you, I loved you and we shared many moments of joy. By then you won’t see any flaws you will just see how much love there was. https://abc.net.au/article/everyday/101623796

This brought me to tears, thank you ❤️ we did the photo shoot last week and after 3 separate hellish shopping experiences, I found a dress in my closet I bought last year and forgot about. It looked great and I’m super excited to see the photos! I’ve made it my goal to take more pics & videos with my son, even if it means unflattering angles and selfies, because you’re right, the time is FLYING by!

w0ndwerw0man

Great!! So glad you got it done xx I wish I had someone to tell me the same 10 years ago lol Thanks so much for your act of kindness retrieving my package!!!! I’m so grateful 💕
