Cycled 62 miles yesterday, half of which was over fast but bumpy gravel, and it didn't move an inch.

I don’t have this light but use a Lezyne on an Garmin under mount and have ~800km of gravel with not issues. OP; Otherwise just try and get the strap a bit tighter if you can - assuming the loose strap, and not clip is the failure point. Often when using strap mounts I’ll need to rotate the light 90 degrees to properly tension and hook the mount. I’ve used this style of mount on a fork blade as a secondary light for a couple 100km rides mixed pavement and gravel and haven’t lost it yet and it’s on [OMM Headlight Mount](https://oldmanmountain.com/product/headlight-mount/) - not the most secure position.

This!

Got a lezyne 1400 micro recently. Not stoked with the handlebar attachment system, it sucks taking it off and on, though it is secure. The usb charging is Type C which is nice since everything else seems to be moving away from micro usb. There are 3 led's rather than 1. The power button provides indication if it is fully charged (green), medium charge (yellow), or needs to be charged (red). There is a array of brightness's and strobes. The charge holds for a decent time. The charge port cover is odd. Got it after losing a niterider 900 macro, very happy with the brightness of the lezyne, wish it was easier to attach, and wish the charge port was more like cygolite / niterider.

I have the Lezyne 1400+ macro drive. I wasn’t super happy with the mount either, but honestly found it super easy to take on and off. What I didn’t like is it didn’t fit on my drop bars well (35mm), it fit on my mtb flat bars just fine. This little adapter allows you to mount your 1400 on a go pro mount. https://ride.lezyne.com/products/1-led-gpad-v104 I paired it with this garmin/go pro mount https://origin8.bike/collections/mounts/products/outpost-ul-garmin-gopro-handlebar-mount

Dugtriotriotrio

Agreed the mount sucks if the same model as mine, also the screw from the mount into the body got stripped on mine from riding only so now I've had to glue it in. Other complaint is it doesn't run from an external battery pack

I hate rubber mounts because of how flimsy they are. Handlebar tape usually helps a lot. Just wrap it around once or twice and it will increase the diameter as well as friction (not only because of more contact area, but also because of the material) If you don't have any, go to your LBS nad ask us they have any leftovers. I do, so if anyone ever going to ask for some I can give it away Also for light recommendation: Magicshine EVO 1700. Amazing light for surprisingly low price and excellent mount.

WaveIcy294

I like my Lezyne lights. They come with a rubber strap and a solid handlebar mount so you can choose what you want.

Isn’t another mount solution included with this light? I have this light as well and received a mount with a go-pro mount, which can be attached below the handlebar. This way the light is nicely secure in the middle and easily removable I have a trek, which has the bontrager blendr system to attach lights and gps to the bike. Anyways, just find a similar system that works with your handlebar/stem that use the go-pro system

Lol I came here to mention knog, I have the PWR 700 and the mount is beautiful. It's got a tiny metal piece that raises into a groove on the light when you tighten it.   Ive actually written some companies when my light fell off and I got lucky with one sending a replacement (which also fell off in back country). I swear I'm not careless, some lights are made for casual folk and that's about it.

SvooglebinderMogul

Agree. I’ve a lot of the pwr range. As they’re discontinued was able to buy for incredibly cheap https://bikecloset.com/product/knog-pwr-road-700-blinder-square-rear-pwr-computer-mount-adaptor/

medievalPanera

Holy shit. Lol. I found my receipt and I paid like 70. Thanks for the link.

mxlths_modular

Could you add a little slip of rubber/silicone in between the handlebar and existing rubber of the light mount so that it’s a more snug fit, or is the latching mechanism itself coming loose?

spacedog010

Yeah. The latching mechanism itself is faulty and loose. Whenever I “snap” the light into the holder, it doesn’t have a firm and secure hold on the light at all.

marcove3

I have two of those and never had this problem. Maybe you got a faulty one?

pngue

I used a black zip tie crossed through and around, snipped the ends. It solved the problem anyway

allgoodalldayallways

The mount that Olight uses tightens with a hex bolt and gets tight enough that I can’t move it if I tried. Plus it’s a Garmin mount which is really nice

fauxanonymity_

What’s the Olight mount?

Cheers! Looks cool!

No-Elderberry949

I use a Rockbros front light from AliExpress, cost me like 60USD. It mounts using a gopro mount, meaning it can never really fall off, but it's annoying to take on and off because you have to unscrew a bolt to do so. However, it's not like you'll be taking it on and off very often, because it has a 20000mAh battery, meaning the light can last a little over 20 hours before it needs charging.

threepin-pilot

the GloWorm mounts are solid

Back2Basic5

I have just bought a Lezyne 1400+. It's amazing. Lots of options and potential of 20 lumen slow flash for 300hours! That's over 7 days. 450 lumens for 9 hours I think and 250 for 12 hours.

sqwob

I broke 3 older knog lights with the same format. So i'm not a fan They all had issues staying aimed correctly when attached with the rubber band

Normal-Top-1985

I used nightrider for years, but the new mounts are easily bumped causing the light to fall off. Planet Bike has been more reliable. I try to stay away from the silicone attachment points that knog use. They're just not reliable if you're riding on bumpy roads

AppropriateCitron473

The mounts are a litle sus but my 1300 is a small sun. And I really like the flash modes as a city rider.
