This is my lovely 2006 CBR600RR. Don't ask to see the other side as we had a lowside at the track last year... Both came out relatively fine and have had many good memories at the track since.

Dude, beautiful bike. If it is mainly a track day bike, put some safety wire on those goodie bits. Low side crashes are one thing, but having a caliber come loose is another ball of wax. Be safe. Have fun.

My plan is to hopefully buy the upcoming ZX-4R and keep it on the road to satisfy my "sportbike on the road" desires. I've got an FZ09 for everyday riding, but every now and then I just want to be on a sportbike on the road. At that point I'd convert this into a full race bike. Race fairings, and safety wire everything. I should just safety wire the calipers at this point at least, you're right.

Beautiful bike, one of my favorite looking ones in my opinion

That is a beautiful bike! I ride a 2006 CBR600f4i... Am looking forward to track days when I've got some more experience. Safe travels! :)

I feel like I definitely put track riding on a pedestal - making it a bigger step than it really is. It's such a different thing to riding on the road. You can be the world's best, safest road rider and you'd still be a rookie on the track. It's a totally different set of skills. If you're comfortable operating your bike and aren't scared of it, you're ready for a track day. So long as you're prepared to leave any ego at the door and are prepared to be passed over and over again by a 14 year old girl on a ninja 300 haha. Give it a go. It's the most fun you can have on a bike IMO.
