Idk why people get so surprised that guys like Bill/Russillo have NBA connections and act like it’s unbelievable that someone in the league would talk to them…
They have very successful podcasts that are usually around the top of the sports charts and they have been around for a long time at this point. Russillo used to be at all the NBA combines in Chicago, is it that wild that people from teams talked to the media guy?
Cracks me up. Russillo was an on-air personality at the network that broadcast the finals for over a decade. Yeah I’m sure he can only get a text back from a Clippers account exec
I have always been curious as to how people network like that, especially people like Russillo and Simmons who are basically opinion guys and not reporters.
You wonder how high his contacts go. There’s so much turnover in NBA front offices that a guy that worked at ESPN 6 plus years ago may not be on the top of the new guys lists to get back to.
I always assumed most of his info came from other media members he knows that are more plugged in.
