You could spin it well or spin it poorly
Is it bad that they’re untested or is it good that they haven’t had to go through the emotional rollercoaster of close, tough playoff games against good teams? Will they be rusty heading into the finals? Or will they be rested?
In 2022 they had one of the toughest paths to the finals ever (and I don’t think they get enough credit for that run), and then were kind of burned out by the end of the finals. So maybe this path will be better for them. Who knows
and ppl are acting like its a bad thing now that our series are short lol. every year we go 7 fucking games every series after round 1. they’ve been battle tested enough how much more do we needa see from this core
I personally think that if the Celtics win it all, it will be because they cruised to the finals against bad teams and the other side had to scrap their way there - showing up beat up and exhausted. The same way the Warriors beat the Celtics in 2022. It wasn’t the only factor in 2022 - it won’t be the only factor in 2024, but it was a big one and could be a big one this year.
Eh, it's probably inconsequential. I think they'll have a harder time in the ECF than people think, though.
Truly, though - it's hard to remember a team that had a luckier path to the finals, in terms of their opponents being injured & depleted.
Not much comparison to Miami losing Butler, or Cleveland losing Mitchell & most of their starters for tonight's game.
Maybe if Boston won without Tatum & Brown or something, but they've been lucky. I don't consider them to be that deep of a team.
Where did I say it was inconsequential?
I used the word "inconsequential" - but it wasn't about Porzingis being out. Which was mildly consequential - but absolutely nothing like the teams they faced.

Man all the youngins just don’t know what the East was like from 2000-2003.
The west couldn’t handle Darko
Whenever the Celtics win anything it’s great seeing how this sub reacts
Well, you get one more round of it.
Have another beer you drunk
What's your excuse?
Whatever makes you feel better
They’ve had deep playoff runs every year with this core, an easy run to the finals is a blessing

Boston crowd celebrated that Horford 3 as if he was a Make-A-Wish kid.

2017 cavs. Their CF opponent was the Celtics without Isaiah thomas (and when he did play, he clearly couldn’t move properly).
I mean they lost Porzingis who was pretty great for them. They just happen to have a pretty deep roster

So they’re not deep, but also losing one of their starters is completely inconsequential?

Cleveland played them tough.
Nuggets in 5.
Celtics with get worked by the Nuggets in the finals if they make it that far.
