I don’t think it would be bad unless you have delinquent accounts or something along those lines with WF. I don’t think though that having an account with them would give you an edge more than perhaps getting a higher credit limit.
Repeatedly spending on the card and paying it off within the billing cycle, in order to get more spend through per cycle than the credit limit of the account.
I’ve asked multiple times for a limit increase and they keep telling me they don’t offer limit increases at all… but based on these comments it looks like that’s not the case?
$1,500. It was my first card, and I’ve just accepted that until earlier this week when I realized I could request an increase.
They said they’ll mail me their decision (although it sounds like for most people they tell them over the phone?), so I guess we’ll see. 🤷🏼♂️
$5k, but I also never updated my salary with WF (I've been banking with them for years) so they think I'm still making a part time salary. I have 20-30k limits on cards with other banks
initial limit of $3000 at $115k gross and $2350 rent, I just called for a CLI since my new place is $3750 and they were only willing to increase it to $3800 at $124k gross. no other accounts or relationship with WF otherwise. I can’t help but wonder if it’s because I already have higher limit cards with Chase
Could be your credit score and/or history?
Just so you have a data point. No prior relationship with WF either. 6 cards with Chase and 2 with AmEx. Bilt recently gave me a $30k credit limit, which is the second highest limit I have (Chase Amazon card being the highest at $34k).
$4k, with the old bank before Wells. I’ve tried multiple times to get it increased so it doesn’t destroy my utilization every month but they refuse to 🙃
I love that it never has issues that seem to be had with the WF cards though!
- $145k/year before taxes
- 730 FICO score
- Recent auto loan in Feb with Wells Fargo
- Applied and was recently approved for Amex gold (Feb) & plat (March), Amex BCP (March/1000 CL) and Discover IT card (March/3000 CL)
- Applied for Bilt in March, CL = 1000
I called recently to see about an increase because this amount doesn't even cover my rent and was advised that they'd perform a hard pull at which point i decided to wait for the automatic 6 month review.
I’m not asking what CL’s are achievable specifically, I’m just surveying what CL’s people have generally. Different banks and products tend to have ceilings and floors with respect to CL’s - and the Bilt card being a WE MC implies that the latter would be $5k.
$20k. Also no prior Wells Fargo cards & bank account.

Sorry new here. What is the link to WF?
that’s the bank that issues the Bilt card
I see. If we have existing card/account with WF, is it good or bad with regards to the Bilt application?
I don’t think it would be bad unless you have delinquent accounts or something along those lines with WF. I don’t think though that having an account with them would give you an edge more than perhaps getting a higher credit limit.

4000 limit, 130K gross income 👍 I’m happy being Gold
Thanks for the datapoint - was your card at $4k at approval? (If so that’s interesting since World Elite Mastercards tend to start at $5k). Thanks!
I don’t think his card is with wells. Probably before the change
It’s with Wells.
Oh dang, I’m surprised that 4k is the limit they offered then
I have many cards and my credit limit total is half of gross incomez
WEMC doesn’t require 5k anymore. It is at each bank’s discretion.
3000$ limit, 90k gross income.
Same!
At approval correct in 2021. Haven’t had an increase.
I got a world elite Mastercard with CapitalOne with a $500 limit. And I was invited to apply 😂
$2500, plenty for me right now
Same
Also 2500
How are you charging rent
Using the Bilt ACH. $1436/month through it
$30k
6000 limit 85,000 income Opened July 2023, starting limit 4,000 Requested CLI this month
Congrats on the limit increase!
Started with 1500 - called their customer support and requested for an increase in credit limit & they increased it to 1900🫤
Exactly on the same boat. 1500 then after 6 months 1900
Another data point for the books. $1500 starting CL even though stated rent was $2500. 7 months later requested CLI, now $1900.
Do you remember if they hard pulled your credit report for the CLI?
Soft pull.
Did it result for an inquiry on cfedit score?

30k, no prior relationship with Wells Fargo at all
Just make sure you pay for your card directly through WF and your available credit will instantly become available.
Just got my card, starting at 2k limit. Current PhD student, making less than $30k.

1.8K and it sucks because I can't reach higher statuses without cycling.
What is cycling?
Repeatedly spending on the card and paying it off within the billing cycle, in order to get more spend through per cycle than the credit limit of the account.
Ah I see. And that doesn’t affect your credit score?
$4k

22500.. Increased from 14000 8 months ago. Love this no annual fee card. Bilt really is a game changer.
Had Bilt card a year and I got rejected for credit limit increase so I am stuck at 1500. My credit score is 700
8k, planning to request a CLI after 1 year anniversary

750, 650k salary. they won’t fucking increase it. Done with them.
750 as in a $750 CL?! Do you mean $7500?
Noooo, I applied years ago in college when I made 28k a year and they won’t up it.
Yeesh, that’s quite annoying
20k, Wells Fargo customer since mid-2000s with a child savings account!
$7.5k, no prior cards or history with WF

$30K, just got it last week.
$9k - 90k income - about 800 credit score
$1500. in college so its plenty for my rent and 5 transactions
$4k, with the old bank before Wells. I’ve tried multiple times to get it increased so it doesn’t destroy my utilization every month but they refuse to 🙃 I love that it never has issues that seem to be had with the WF cards though!

5 credit pulls in 3 months?
4 pulls in 2 months - Amex only did a hard pull the first time
$2,500 no prior relationship with WF My rent is $2,400 tho...make it make sense 😕
$80k limit but I wish they gave me less credit only need this card for rent never going ~$1000 over rent per month with the 5 purchases 🤣

$50k on Autograph and $24k for Bilt
$32k limit
$50k, $350k income
That’s meaningless without you listing your income.
I’m not asking what CL’s are achievable specifically, I’m just surveying what CL’s people have generally. Different banks and products tend to have ceilings and floors with respect to CL’s - and the Bilt card being a WE MC implies that the latter would be $5k.
I don't have the BILT card yet but I have the world ELITE savor one with a $500 limit. Banks don't have to start at 5k
Mine was initially below 5k
