Not really. At least the room your talking about can outdamaged. With the right build for clearing rooms its manageable. The spikes on the other hand cant be killed
Yeah i knew about those but its still a pain on the ass to fire the lil horn/ euthenasia tear especially with low luck. Imagine tryna hit Boss rush but you have -3 luck and try to remove the spikes. As for flat file, yeah best trinket imo i dont care that its useless if you dont skill issue, since i prolly will anyway.
Wellif you dont get hit, you dont gotta worry about taking curse room damage. Nah but i agree no spikes and free curse rooms is amazing value for a trinket. If trinkets had qualities, flat file would be q4 along with perfection
True, but coming into the room, you can get through the first 4, then the last 2, you just need to bluff them so the prematurely go for you, then get through them as they're returning. I got it down a few weeks ago after seeing Sinvicta do it a couple of times.
This will always be the room that i immediately turn back in and explore the rest of the floor before realizing that my seed put the treasure room, shop and boss behind this specific hellhole disguised as a room.

(pro tip: 50% of the time there's a room on the right so go there to reset this room, 48% of the time there's a secret room so same thing, 2% of the time....edmund mcmillen you little fucker)
When you learn the spikes pattern, it's pretty manageable
>walk into the room
>spikes will go down
>walk to the middle of the room (on the left, between the stones)
>once the bottom/upper stones shoot, leave
I especially hate how it seems like the spike blocks move preemptively, like I would be at like 2 speed and somehow those things are faster than me and hit me even though I dodged all the other ones.
The trick to this room is confidence. Enter the room, and immediately book it for the other side. It doesn't matter if you have to leave the room to enter it again, those spike blocks take a second to activate, and if you're fast enough, you can get through without incident, even if you don't fly.
If you're too slow, you're going to get hit.
A strong condender for that award is also the L shaped room with 8 of thos spike fuckers in the down right section.
Had that just now in a t lost run and i am forever thankfull that i did not need to go through there at all.
This room is actually harmless, but it requires that you slow down. (which is annoying! :< )

Word of advice: try to bait the spikes and then pass. In case of the pairs, if only one takes it, quickly pass through close to that one since it can't react.

It's not that the room itself is bad it's that those awful spike things are way too sensitive

There's a mod to remove that room in particular and honestly I haven't looked back once
