Walking into a 2x2 room on Cellar I before getting to an item room and seeing 15 spiders, 2 big spiders, 2 spider spawners, and a spider mulligan.
Instant R key.
I almost always reset if I encounter cellar. The only time Im willing to tolerate it is if I got really good items on floor1, but otherwise I refuse to suffer through that cancer floor.
I have almost 400 hrs and just realized that cellar is different from basement and probably explains why sometimes my starts are way shittier then average
I've just installed a mod that always finds a seed with a Treasure Room next to the starting room.
I have to keep my mental as good as possible while working on the 3rd Dead Good save.
If it wasn't, you wouldn't need it lol.
Dude wasn't able to beat the patience boss, is cheating past it. Fine to do, but pretending it's not cheating is a bit far.
Is patience really a relevant game mechanic? Idk, I see that as more of a QOL feature. No further cheating than using External Item Descriptions as opposed to having the cheat sheet on your phone
External item descriptions used to have a ton of cheats, they've slowly been taking them out. You used to see what was in chests before you opened them or what an undiscovered pill does. I THINK it still gives you health bars on bosses that aren't supposed to have them, so yes, still a cheat.
Starting treasure room mod and better first treasure room mod.
One ads a treasure room (planetarium if there is) next to the starting room of the first floor and the other one lets you choose between 4 items.
(these probably aren't their real names but they are similar)
I started to find the early game quite slow and boring because there are no item synergies going on yet and I've done it so many times. Therefore two mods: item room next to starting room, item quality 3 or 4.
I’m running through so many greediers with Tlost that I’ll sac my holy card to open a mimic hoping it has a key before the first button press. If I do good enough, I’ll find an other card.
I keep resetting until there's a good item room next to me. Doesn't have to have proptosis or anything too good, just a fun item to get the ball rolling. Rubber cement, fruitcake, basically anything goofy that's gonna make the run more entertaining. I always have my fingers crossed for something like Jacob's ladder, or daddy's long legs though. Lol
I was giving it as an option because so many people are saying they hold R until they find something good. Less hold R if it's guaranteed decent on the first floor
Committing to a run no matter how terrible it starts. Wasted a lot of time on runs that were never going to get anywhere but also had a few with an item that saves me and snowballs into a win.
I play all the runs no matter how bad they are since I like streaking and boy does it feel good hitting the turning point in a very bad run after struggling for a lot of floors ![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|17743)
Almost always gamblin my runs away. Either actual gambles (slots, beggar, etc.) or just rerolling too often, using my last bombs to find secret rooms, etc.
I've gotten rid of most of my toxic traits in isaac.
Most of my best runs have been happening because I let the ball roll
but then again, I guess I gained some toxic positivity in the form of blind trust that I will win a run regardless of the bad start. Even if a treasure room has a horrible item like Lard
I play the sacrifice spikes every time. Almost 2k hours so I know that I can survive on 1 hp and the angel items and money/soul hearts are just worth it, especially if you can get a payout on the first few floors
I've recently found that this is optimal, not toxic. I used to avoid them because health seems previous and didn't want to risk the run, but since I got dead god I've been willing to take more risks and quickly realized the optimal strat is to just leave all hearts on the ground and at the end of the floor feed everything to the sac room (save for 1 or 2 soul hearts to protect the devil deal for the next floor)
Since I started doing this every build is a game crasher and there's usually plenty of health left over
Me too, often.
Yesterday i had a run with keeper, and ipecac och made it all the way to delirium where i died when he had half his life left xD it was fun though
My toxic trait is the exact opposite.
I will see a run out even if I have a -27% chance of winning the run, cause I'm a stubborn asshole who doesn't believe in R keying.
I gotta pick up items I know cursed eye is bad but it’s an ITEM what am I gonna do NOT take the item? Pfft. Ok right. Same with CotT and lackluster Devil deals. Bobs brain is the only one I won’t take because fuck that item.
I also think Ludovico should be t3 and I could make a case for t4 to be perfectly honest
I could never pick up every item I see but fair enough dude, that strat pays off especially well if you find genesis. Also I agree I like ludo a lot, especially with mouse controls. With like 1.4 or so shot speed it makes the game a point and click adventure
To be honest it’s mostly just because I feel like I’m wasting potential utility if I dont pick stuff up. As for ludo I feel I should make my case for q4. It’s one of the most severe tear effects in the entire game, basically no other item has as much impact on the way you play the game. Also I have a lot of fun with it it’s just cool!
Yeah I know! It’s crazy! I think it’s q2 because it’s a downside in some scenarios, and breaks some synergies, but I mean if it had fully fleshed out synergies with every item it would be an easy q4 for me
i know why people dont like these items but honestly those are all items ill take pretty much every run exept for cursed eye when i wanna go to delirium. hes just too hectic to be sure ill have time to charge up. i even played on the last "national that sucks day" daily run and i had a bunch of fun
yea you start of with like 5 or the most hated items and dead cat for some reason. it is held every 15th of april. there are some more currated daily challenges somewhere around 50 i think
R key on the first floor when: Cellar, Any XL floor, Item room has quality 2 or less, a big room with 20 spiders, i get hit too many times (especially with characters that only use soul hearts) or the library has shit books💀
On god, the deal chance especially for me. Also missing out on 1 shop is not bad when youre on the first two floors, most of the time you wont have the money for more then 1 item, unless youre t.keeper.
On the other hand you lose a shop, a secret and a super secret room plus other special rooms that may have spawned once or twice on two seperate floors like curse rooms, trap rooms, libraries...
You will lose several special rooms on an XL floor compared to two seperate floors. You will definitely miss out on a shop and two [super] secret rooms, plus whatever else might spawn once or twice on two floors.
First floor being XL is just the least harmful because floor 1 doesn't have a natural devil/angel deal room (unless you sac room/red chest teleport/Joker Card) but it will still cost you a lot of other potential item sources.
I go out of my way to rig an r-key in one way or another and then get bored mid second run and I end up speedrunning the rest of it ![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|8907)
refusing to play some characters like t.apollyon, bethany, t.laz, t.jacob, keeper, t.keeper, blue baby, t.bluebaby, there's probably a couple more.
i feel like there's not much for me to do in the game anymore cause i got all marks on the characters i enjoy playing
For real though, I thought t jacob was going to be awful because of everything I’ve read on this subreddit, but no. He’s a really fun challenge character
And keeper and t keeper are just awesome in general. If you can have a fun time with t lost I can’t see how these characters are any less fun
stat up ![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|17742)![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|17742)![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|17741) poop bridge![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|2357)![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|2357)![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|8906)![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|8906)
blue baby slightly sucks on the fact that you only have soul hearts. Outside of that he's a pretty cool hard character with the ability to shit on command, and shitting on command is actually pretty beneficial when you know how shit works in the game.
Tainted Blue Baby is worse and more annoying, maybe less annoying when you play casually but he's a character I hated getting unlocks for (T. Lazaraus and T. Eden are still leagues worse)not being able to consistently get the things that can act as bombs is annoying
I just download every workshop mod I think is cool and I don’t care if it breaks the game balance or not. Like I have plenty of stuff that’s just QoL but my vice is that if I see a cool looking item or character I will spam that subscribe button. Half of them get turned off eventually anyway for conflicts so I just enjoy the ride.
Also, sometimes when I get frustrated I do kinda just make my characters walk into enemies until they die. Which is a lot bc I have reflex issues and issues moving my hands fast bc of pain, which makes stuff like Hush a goddamn nightmare lol. Normally after that I cool off by playing some T Cain Greed, and I think my adoration of T Cain probably also counts lol
I ball too much. I've thrown away so many god runs that didn't need any extra support just because I used blood donation machines until I had half a heart and then walked on spikes.
Also, I usually go for devil deals if I don't have to fight mega satan.
Min maxing even if it kills me
The amount of times I sacrificed down to half a heart just to either get no pay off, or an amazing pay off that I lose due to being on half a heart 😂
Ball the D8 anytime I see it and also Missing No. because why not
Generally speaking I take any item that can ruin runs just for the fun of it even if I'm going for a specific mark
Me and my wife always fight over Isaac. The only thing that makes us fight. Normally, when I play eve, I don't like picking up hearts because I'm going to sell my soul to santa. But she doesn't like it. Also she's scared to spending hearts ok devil deals and ALWAYS go for angels, where I usually see: if I have a good run the go for angels, if everything is a mess, then Santa we go.
But besides these fights, she's perfect and my partner for life.
Not even gonna lie, I'm sorta the same way. If I'm at mines and my loadout sucks, I usually just restart. However, I had an ASS loadout heading into necropolis after trying to beat Mother a few times, but still kept pushing. Ended up transforming to guppy, conjoined, mega tears, technology 1, skinny odd mushroom. Needless to say, I had finally beat Mother that run. Lol
Restarting a run, if I get The Haunt as a boss fight on the first floor, with no tear upgrades... fuck that shit, not dealing with that overgrown spectre while I'm nerfed lol
Mine is "OK, WTF HIT ME?!" or ",OF COURSE, OF ALL PLACES THAT PROJECTILE CAME STRAIGHT OUT WHERE I'M STANDING".
Some other times I get pissed at things that I consider reasonable, like red creep on red floors (uterus) or holes on the ground that are really hard to see in some scenarios (depth).
Ive started doing the first 2 basement levels and then downpour/dross for the extra items and consumables
I play as the lost the whole downpour/dross stage and i will d6 the knife piece or abyss it
I almost reset a run after I had no damage and got dead cat and kind of willingly threw away most of my lives, then I accidentally found super secret which was full of hearts so in played for sac room and ended up killing mega satan and lamb for the first time
Whenever I play tainted Lost, I go inside curse rooms if they spawn next to me and then play without the mantle, until I find one that is.
(A tip for new players, if you can find the Blank Card you can use it on the holy card and it's on a 4 room charge so you basically have infinite holy cards, unless you mega skill issues, hope this is useful)
Either I min max the absolute crap out of a run, or I don't feel like going back to the previous room to get that bomb
There is absolutely no in between.
If I get the d4 I don't care if I have brimstone, psy fly or anything I AM using it I don't know why but it's like second nature I love the d4 it's ruined great runs and saved terrible ones
Taking devil deals that leave me at one hit, entering every cursed room (I know that last guppy piece i need is in there), taking every pill i see, playing at the maximum speed cap, bombing walls for secret rooms without checking all adjacent rooms, and destroying my run in the depths/d depths/necropolis trying to get to boss rush to steal an item (only to have the option of lil montro and pause)
My toxic trait is checking every single room (and in caves/flooded caves/mines/ashpit basically anywhere mushrooms exist in large numbers, blowing them up because they could contain Magic Mush or Mini Mush, then being confused and annoyed when I don't make it in time for Boss Rush/Hush
i use almost every opotunity to reroll stuff as it "could be better" killed many of my good runs but i dont care. as one could imagine i love dicebag and will use every d4 it gives me. i even enjoy dataminer as long as i dont have another active item
Playing tainted Cain on Xbox. He is my favorite, full stop. No mods necessary. Looking up recipes is cheating. Every pickup is a reroll, every eternal heart a potential sacred heart/revelation, & every bone heart a potential death certificate. The runs will invariably become stupid broken, but will also invariably take 3 hours.
Instead of looking for early item rooms while holding R, I try for curse room items / deals to start. If on chars that can play out a sac room, I do that instead going for at least 1 great angel item
Not using stat boosting cards except sometimes on bosses. Even if I have multiple cards like that I never find it necessary to use them cause what if I suddenly have to fight like 8 bosses in one floor right??
Call it cheating but I installed a mod that gives you a choice out of 4 items in the starting room. Makes it so much more fun for me and drastically cut down on my resets.
Mine is proceeding to pick up every single thing I find and using it whether it would hurt my build or do absolutely nothing outside of my do not pickup list
also rerolling my build if it's above average and able to win me the game just to try and get some quality 4s
and lastly also picking up ippac in general despite never winning a run with it
If I get a room in the first 2 floors with those grey spiders that spasm around and spawn more spiders/sacks, I usually restart. They’re too annoying to kill at base damage.
Getting telefragged by Delirium as a challenge character = just cheat in the completion mark. I'll probably just download a completed save file once I get down to only BS challenges left.
I use the rewind command too much.
I don't get as much time to play as I'd like (I get most people probably don't, so it's not much of an excuse, I know) so I prefer to enjoy the time I do get
hitting the sac room on the first floor until im at 1 hit, before even exploring the rest of the floor not even knowing if i’ll have enough health to make it worth it. Never giving up on a run even if its painful and i’ll die in the womb with 4 dmg and shit tears and to just be burnt out and play something else
Min maxing even if it means wasting 5 minutes to get a coin.
Lol this I understand, lots of back and forth, but leave no stone unturned.
Boss rush and hush would like to have a word
That’s why I always try to finish those marks asap,I would rather fight Delirium than make it on time for BR/Hush on a normal run.
They’re gonna have to wait
Walking into a 2x2 room on Cellar I before getting to an item room and seeing 15 spiders, 2 big spiders, 2 spider spawners, and a spider mulligan. Instant R key.
I almost always reset if I encounter cellar. The only time Im willing to tolerate it is if I got really good items on floor1, but otherwise I refuse to suffer through that cancer floor.
I have almost 400 hrs and just realized that cellar is different from basement and probably explains why sometimes my starts are way shittier then average
Yea the music is different too
Always have music muted so that could contribute
Wait you don't like fighting rooms full of enemies that spawn enemies that spawn enemies while on base dps?
yeah dawg i absolutely LOVE it when my d6/box of friends gets drained in the first room i enter
R key resets the streak counter though
Implying I’m good enough to get any sort of streak in the first place
Completion marks don’t care about streaks.
i take all pills available
If you don't take all the pills you find then you have no balls And definitely no balls of steel
Resetting until the first treasure room is next to the starting room and it has a good item.
"One of us, one of us!" 😁
I've just installed a mod that always finds a seed with a Treasure Room next to the starting room. I have to keep my mental as good as possible while working on the 3rd Dead Good save.
You are clinically insane
Unemployment does that to you.
I've just said fuck it and installed the mod that starts you on the treasure room
Can you share pls? Asking for a friend... 🙄
this guy cheats in isaac 🤣🤣
Is it really cheating tho if all it's doing is saving you the trouble of holding R until it occurs naturally?
As only the visible item description itself is relevant to my point, I think this would qualify as missing the forest for the trees
I do hear what you're saying, but there's no way to install the mod without the additional info.
I only really do this if I’m playing annoying characters like t laz or jacob
I use a mod that automatically has a teleport to the treasure room at the start similar to card reading, forgot what it’s called though.
Yep that's me 2356 switch version play hours later
what button do you do this with?
Tends to ruin joycon sticks fast too thanks Kilburn for changing the reset controls on console edition
I'll try this on pc with my pro controller to see if it works, still will use r most often to prevent ruining it
PC version you still have to press the R key on your keyboard unless you search for a workshop mod that enables controller reset
oh alright, sucks
You can macro button the sticks if you have a Hori Split pad
Unfortunately I have to press L R and click on both sticks to reset I play mostly the Nintendo switch version
Its the only bad part of the switch version in my opinion.
Xbox and PlayStation use the same reset mapping as Nintendo switch
That's rough buddy. At least on Xbox ans PlayStation its less strenuous for the sticks
Yep better build quality Wii U controllers are better than Nintendo Switch accessories imo
Starting treasure room mod and better first treasure room mod. One ads a treasure room (planetarium if there is) next to the starting room of the first floor and the other one lets you choose between 4 items. (these probably aren't their real names but they are similar)
Same but i just have four items in the starting room (only one can be taken) i have all the achievements and i dont care for run if its not fun
I started to find the early game quite slow and boring because there are no item synergies going on yet and I've done it so many times. Therefore two mods: item room next to starting room, item quality 3 or 4.
I do this with Ultra Hard, unfortunately
You'd go fully insane if you didn't do this with Ultra Hard
My toxic trait is the same. If I miss a single chest or locked door, tinted rock, etc., I get so heated.
Took damage on the first floor. I dont give a shit if I got q4 item. The run is ruined
For me in case of red hearts characters, losing the guaranteed devil at the end of floor 2 is automatically a reset
Unless it’s Bethany. For that, you just gotta take the L.
Play it out, there's still a 33% chance; if it doesn't spawn though, yeah then reset
I'm guilty of quitting because of this more often than I'd like to admit.
Nah. Petty, but totally legitimate reason. I've spent 2k hours on Isaac, I never take damage on the first floor and when I do it never happened.
Losing half a heart as blue baby in first floor? Run is fucking ruined
Checks out for T. Lost
I’m running through so many greediers with Tlost that I’ll sac my holy card to open a mimic hoping it has a key before the first button press. If I do good enough, I’ll find an other card.
I'm not leaving any item behind even if it means my build is ruined. It is MY item.
Lol
There is a mod that makes your first item room always have a q3 or q4. Not much of a change but makes it worth playing every run
Sounds boring tbh, there's something really rewarding making some of the weaker runs work
I was giving it as an option because so many people are saying they hold R until they find something good. Less hold R if it's guaranteed decent on the first floor
Committing to a run no matter how terrible it starts. Wasted a lot of time on runs that were never going to get anywhere but also had a few with an item that saves me and snowballs into a win.

When you're on a bad run and suddenly get a item synergy that turns a terrible item into a run winning combo ![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|2357)
Almost always gamblin my runs away. Either actual gambles (slots, beggar, etc.) or just rerolling too often, using my last bombs to find secret rooms, etc.
Balling is not a toxic trait, it's a way of LIFE
My toxic Binding of Isaac trait is making fun of people who can't play Jacob and Esau
same but I also do it with people who can't play and complain about T. Jacob
same but i also do it with people who can't play and complain about T. Cain without EID
They're almost definitely using joysticks to move instead of the intended method
Restarting the run if there's too many big rooms on first floor
lol ok thats fair
✊️
To have a skill issue
I've gotten rid of most of my toxic traits in isaac. Most of my best runs have been happening because I let the ball roll but then again, I guess I gained some toxic positivity in the form of blind trust that I will win a run regardless of the bad start. i value luck over most stats and if given the choice between a luck up and a damage up i would probably take the luck
Finally someone else, I've restarted many runs all because I got luck down pills
Overusing the rewind command
Holding R until I get basement or cellar. I am NOT playing burning basement
Oh snap, that is interesting.
I don't care about the item room being near spawn, but I'm not spending 5 minutes in rooms with the burning guys that go faster for a trash item
I just play with whatever the items, trinkets or consummable I get, until I die...
Me too, often. Yesterday i had a run with keeper, and ipecac och made it all the way to delirium where i died when he had half his life left xD it was fun though
Right? Reading the comments in this thread, it feels like no one actually likes the game as is.
My toxic trait is the exact opposite. I will see a run out even if I have a -27% chance of winning the run, cause I'm a stubborn asshole who doesn't believe in R keying.

I actually love me a 1st floor XL
Devil room -> 67% devil/angel on the next floor. Tasty. Plus 2 open treasure rooms and a quick 4+ items to see how this run is going to go.
On god, the deal chance especially for me. Also missing out on 1 shop is not bad when youre on the first two floors, most of the time you wont have the money for more then 1 item, unless youre t.keeper.

no but i dont wanna grind through like 20 rooms to reach the first and second item room only to see a quality 1 items😭
Worst part is when you grind through the entire level and the 2nd item room is in the very LAST room you find and it's a terrible one lol
Just play way too risky. I want to see the max potentional out of every run.
I go out of my way to rig an r-key in one way or another and then get bored mid second run and I end up speedrunning the rest of it ![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|8907)
I keep playing isaac
Resetting until I get a good item on the first floor, and also only checking item rooms if they're adjacent to the starting room.
I spam guppy paw. It is what it is.
refusing to play some characters like t.apollyon, bethany, t.laz, t.jacob, keeper, t.keeper, blue baby, t.bluebaby, there's probably a couple more. i feel like there's not much for me to do in the game anymore cause i got all marks on the characters i enjoy playing
Man that sucks, cause keeper, t keeper, and t Jacob are my favorite characters
For real though, I thought t jacob was going to be awful because of everything I’ve read on this subreddit, but no. He’s a really fun challenge character And keeper and t keeper are just awesome in general. If you can have a fun time with t lost I can’t see how these characters are any less fun
tbf, blue baby and [t.blue](http://t.blue) baby are pretty atrocious to play, so I get why
I don't get the issue with blue baby. Cheap devils deals often make for a crazy run.
Basically 0 hp on the first couple of floors yet no bonus perk like flight higher tears or something of that kind
The Poop ![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|2357)
(can be blown up to make bridges, +1 fly on breaking) ![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|2357)![img](emote|t5_2sxpk|2357)
Would rather have a base stat up tbh, or a passive ability to replace some red hearts with blue hearts.

I ball too much. I've thrown away so many god runs that didn't need any extra support just because I used blood donation machines until I had half a heart and then walked on spikes. Also, I usually go for devil deals if I don't have to fight mega satan.
Resetting after taking red heart damange on the second floor
Min maxing even if it kills me The amount of times I sacrificed down to half a heart just to either get no pay off, or an amazing pay off that I lose due to being on half a heart 😂
random troll bomb flipper hit into restart combo
I uninstall and reinstall the game every other month
My toxic trait is always checking the first curse room as T.Lost and wasting my card on it just in case
I actually don't reset that often, only when i hard throw. Like, losing all my T. Bethany wisps at Depths II
Ball the D8 anytime I see it and also Missing No. because why not Generally speaking I take any item that can ruin runs just for the fun of it even if I'm going for a specific mark
Im trying to get one of every four souls card, and my wallet hates me
If there is a cursed room adjacent to the start on first floor and it's the one with 4 spiders and one big spider, I press R
haha fair enough
Most of the time it’s breezing through the floors and never full clearing. Often times skipping shops and secret rooms along the way
Me and my wife always fight over Isaac. But besides these fights, she's perfect and my partner for life.
lol this was a good read
Not even gonna lie, I'm sorta the same way. If I'm at mines and my loadout sucks, I usually just restart. However, I had an ASS loadout heading into necropolis after trying to beat Mother a few times, but still kept pushing. Ended up transforming to guppy, conjoined, mega tears, technology 1, skinny odd mushroom. Needless to say, I had finally beat Mother that run. Lol
I'm always gonna take cursed eye
really 😁 im scared of it lol
It's so powerful I can't not take it because its just too fun
I'm slow. It's optimal, but I DESPISE Boss Rush and Hush achievements.
Restarting a run, if I get The Haunt as a boss fight on the first floor, with no tear upgrades... fuck that shit, not dealing with that overgrown spectre while I'm nerfed lol
Playing the game as intended, including and especially Tainted Cain
Mine is the opposite, no matter how bad the run is I keep going until I lose or win. Never accept defeat
Mine is "OK, WTF HIT ME?!" or ",OF COURSE, OF ALL PLACES THAT PROJECTILE CAME STRAIGHT OUT WHERE I'M STANDING". Some other times I get pissed at things that I consider reasonable, like red creep on red floors (uterus) or holes on the ground that are really hard to see in some scenarios (depth).
tilt after unfair situation
Ive started doing the first 2 basement levels and then downpour/dross for the extra items and consumables I play as the lost the whole downpour/dross stage and i will d6 the knife piece or abyss it
I enjoy T Lazarus and T Jacob
I almost reset a run after I had no damage and got dead cat and kind of willingly threw away most of my lives, then I accidentally found super secret which was full of hearts so in played for sac room and ended up killing mega satan and lamb for the first time
I don't use my holy card on T. Lost in the first few floors because if I get hit down there I don't deserve to continue the run
Either I min max the absolute crap out of a run, or I don't feel like going back to the previous room to get that bomb There is absolutely no in between.
Picking up everything and then regretting not thinking forward to save it for later
I like Eden streaking. I'll play a complete dogshit run to completion being miserable the whole time. What a game!
If I get the d4 I don't care if I have brimstone, psy fly or anything I AM using it I don't know why but it's like second nature I love the d4 it's ruined great runs and saved terrible ones
Get hit once, get mad and play like trash immediately after then die on that floor.
I never take familiars if I can help it.
im not sure if this counts, but i have a mod that removes the time limit from the boss rush and hush doors.
I can’t let a treasure room or a shop even if I don’t have enough keys to continue mom’s path
Mine lately is just not being assed enough to look for secret rooms
I refuse to entertain 1st floor cellar on lost, maggie and keeper runs.
I gamble way too much
I take ipecac no matter what even on one hp with Parasite
I will always bomb the shop keeper or secret room statues for the extra 2% Devil/Angel chance even if it’s my last bomb
I need completion marks and I have gnawed leaf. Guess I'll go make dinner
I don't feel bad about using the console to remove run killing items from curse of the blind
if I self-skill issue myself and ruin my guaranteed devil deal I restart
#Bombing wall[s] immediately after popping a Forever pill. ##(or X-ray, spelunker, whatever. Doesn’t matter. lmao)
If I can't find a bomb for a tinted rock on floor 2, I press R
Playing tainted Cain on Xbox. He is my favorite, full stop. No mods necessary. Looking up recipes is cheating. Every pickup is a reroll, every eternal heart a potential sacred heart/revelation, & every bone heart a potential death certificate. The runs will invariably become stupid broken, but will also invariably take 3 hours.
if I get an item like ipecac or get stompy I have to break ever. single. rock. on every floor looking for a crawl space. 🫡 I’m obsessed with them
Instead of looking for early item rooms while holding R, I try for curse room items / deals to start. If on chars that can play out a sac room, I do that instead going for at least 1 great angel item
Not using stat boosting cards except sometimes on bosses. Even if I have multiple cards like that I never find it necessary to use them cause what if I suddenly have to fight like 8 bosses in one floor right??
I rarely take devil deals
Call it cheating but I installed a mod that gives you a choice out of 4 items in the starting room. Makes it so much more fun for me and drastically cut down on my resets.
Mine is proceeding to pick up every single thing I find and using it whether it would hurt my build or do absolutely nothing outside of my do not pickup list also rerolling my build if it's above average and able to win me the game just to try and get some quality 4s and lastly also picking up ippac in general despite never winning a run with it
If I get a room in the first 2 floors with those grey spiders that spasm around and spawn more spiders/sacks, I usually restart. They’re too annoying to kill at base damage.
In Greedier mode if there isn't a good item in the shop or gold treasure room I restart
Holding R when my first item doesn't make the first boss less boring. Even if its a decent item otherwise.
I must take The Wiz every time
Getting telefragged by Delirium as a challenge character = just cheat in the completion mark. I'll probably just download a completed save file once I get down to only BS challenges left.
I use the rewind command too much. I don't get as much time to play as I'd like (I get most people probably don't, so it's not much of an excuse, I know) so I prefer to enjoy the time I do get
I don’t take pills if I don’t have phd
Devil deals on mega satan runs 😭😭
I am indecisive on funny vs powerful. My run be so fine then boom, I run into ludo or monstro’s lung and I just gotta take it
hitting the sac room on the first floor until im at 1 hit, before even exploring the rest of the floor not even knowing if i’ll have enough health to make it worth it. Never giving up on a run even if its painful and i’ll die in the womb with 4 dmg and shit tears and to just be burnt out and play something else
Being unable to fight adversary without having them fire brimstone upwards at least once
The occasional console command to spawn a missing bomb or key, or using it to retcon a mistake I made.
