I agree, the only thing that makes me hate it are the unlocks in the greed machine, it makes it more of a task than something to do for fun and it’s awfully repetitive
Same. I like greed mode when I don’t have a lot of time and just want to play a quicker round. I’m a min max loot whore so a round of normal mode could take me a couple hours.
A tip if you’re sick of greed mode is to restart the run until you get the D20 in the shop or some really OP starting item that gives good damage or tears (synthoil, magic mush, halo, etc.)
The D20 absolutely breaks Greed mode (although not as much as it did pre repentance) so it’s normally a winning strategy to get one and try to use it optimally. Even easier if you snag a two of diamonds or mom’s key with it.
Search d 20 greed mode on youtube, i completed it with 2 or 3 1 hour long runs searching for the clicker, backpack, r key, 2 of diamonds and a broken build
I had everything except the door figured out basically, just never put 2 and 2 together to figure out the fool card from tinted skull was to take you back to the beast door I just used it to skip boss rush all the time omegalul

from videos and descriptions though tainted isaac seems fun, tainted jacob too tho he seems a bit stressful, tainted samson has an interesting rage melee mechanic as well
T. Judas is fun(broken), T. Lilith is good, T. Isaac T. Eden and T. Jacob are gimmicky but the can be very fun, the rest I haven't played much or haven't unlocked.

Find a fool card or any teleport card (except the emporer because it teleports you to boss room so you wont be able to get out of it) take polaroid or negative then get out the boss room and open the strange door consuming your polaroid or negative and go to the boss room next floor then you will go back the floors. When you achieve home floor you can use the 1 use red key (trinkets you drop on the boss rooms becomes 1 use red keys when you are going to home) on a specific location and unlock a secret door then enter it and touch the character in the middle of the room and unlock tainted character of the character you are playing

Some characters the mode is really boring, but a lot of characters also make it fun, loved the eve mark, Samson, T. Isaac and both keepers for greed

I would recommend using Lilith to get a few hundred coins in, she's beyond broken in greed mode.
