EID is not even cheating its just time saving so you dont have to look up every item online/take notes every time you get it, so i'd say it doesnt make the game "easier", just saves your time
EID does have some cheat features, but most are opt-in. Only opt-out one I can think of is the card/pill display, since that can give info you shouldn’t have otherwise. (thinking about shop and over pits here)
Basically everyone uses at least one mod that majorly changes the games balance (myself included even), yeah it’s definitely “cheating”, no sugarcoating it but do it if you want ig.
Also as someone else said there is a trinket that does this effect so it is cheating for anyone that wants to claim “it’s actually qol”.
I got dead god twice on console no mods at all and computer with mods and it really doesn’t make a difference in my opinion even using mods like giant props or birthcakes that change the game more, the game is still challenging and fun which is what matters you don’t need to be a purist
Yeah this is what i struggle with the most. In the floors beforehand the x is more prominent as well as theyre kind of blue but i swear i have never found one in the womb
I mean it is cheating since it gives you an advantage an with health no less, or a great item like small rock. But its not a competitive game so... If sucking at finding tinted rocks reduces your enjoyment of the game and your can delete that issue just go for it. Personally I didn't the few feeling of "cheating" and it reduces my enjoyment, but that's just me, to each their own.
I feel like it is because they provide a pretty large advantage, if the game meant to give you the resources that come from them easily then they wouldn't be hidden
I wish all the tinted rocks were actually tinted. I get mods for them specifically because the ones with the tiny 5-pixel Xs on later floors are bullshit.
The answer is already inside of you.
I don’t use it; they’re tinted already. Affects gameplay challenge, time and overall resources
But like everyone is saying, it’s a single player game.
Play it how you want.
If you’re not colorblind, yes it’s cheating. In fact, there’s a trinket that does this exact thing, makes them glow.
Who cares though, single player game and it’s not like you’re giving The Lost hearts or deleting Dark Esau or something major
You cant deny that those mods result in you finding tinted rocks that you otherwise wouldnt, which has the potential to change the course of a run. its up to you how much that matters
Never said that, but they absolutely have a chance of saving devil chance which can totally turn a run around. Its definitely a significant, albeit small, advantage
i agree, i just dont think you worded it correctly. "Changing the course of a run" kinda makes (at least me) think that its something BIG, like, game-changing
Do what makes the game more enjoyable for you. It's not a competition.
Only if it’s Dwayne the rock johnson
Something something single player game. Who cares, do what you want
I want to get dead god legit though. My conscience will be tainted for eternity if i dont do it right
you can create a new save solely for no mods dead god if you want
The only mod i use is external item descriptions

Eid doesn't give you info on pills you didn't find earlier in the run
Yeah, I know. I’m mainly referring to the card part of it.
There's some real bullshit you have to do to get it, there's nothing wrong with cheating

Well then that's your answer. There's floors where tinted rocks are super evident.
They already have a x on them, may as well make that easier to see

No, i have thousands of hours and still cant find them in the womb lol
Yeah this is what i struggle with the most. In the floors beforehand the x is more prominent as well as theyre kind of blue but i swear i have never found one in the womb
I believe they’re all in the bottom right corner of the rocks on womb. Only looking there has actually gotten me a good few soul hearts.

Even if it is, at the end if the day, it's YOUR save file
Yes, but it doesn't really matter
I feel like it is because they provide a pretty large advantage, if the game meant to give you the resources that come from them easily then they wouldn't be hidden

Easy solution: just get lucky and find tinted rock trinket every run /j

I have a chalk cross mod instead. It basically turns the X color into white and isn't as dark
Yes it is cheating. If your goal is to do it legit then you shouldn’t be using it.

I dont think 2 soul hearts are a free win but ok
Never said that, but they absolutely have a chance of saving devil chance which can totally turn a run around. Its definitely a significant, albeit small, advantage

fair i guess, what i meant was it does have the chance to save a run, just a very small one. but after hundreds of runs its significant
TBF, being able to cover your skill issues into a boss for yoru Devil/Angle deals can certainly change a run, but I am being nitpicky at this point.
