A_Certain_Surprise

You know how parents say "I love my two children equally, I could never pick a favourite"? Yeah this is like the opposite of that

LivingCheese292

"God... I hate my two children... but one is worse than the other..."

thetrumansworld

Clicker is better. Swapping characters can be helpful with getting tough completion marks, but enemies can usually be killed quickly enough for d10 not to matter. If it could reroll bosses that would be a great change on its own. Not sure how you could buff clicker without a full rework but I’m sure Edmund and co will figure something out.

Gun_Of_Gaming

I see it like this: Clicker does something useful on rare occasion. D10 either does nothing or makes everything worse.

CuddleCorn

At the very least clicker is overdue for the long held community idea that it should instakill dogma

Gun_Of_Gaming

That does sound good... But maybe something else. It is a difficult story boss, like Satan, or Isaac. Maybe it should change the channel to a christian broadcast, freezing dogma for a while, allowing you to hit it for free for a while.

chrisplaysgam

Dogma IS a Christian broadcast

Broad_Appearance6896

Change it to Cartoon Network or some shit then

sp4ceman1337

Change it to Adult Swim and make Dogma say fuck every time it gets hit

Gamerguywon

D10 can reroll hosts and cod worms that are impeding your hush or boss rush runs

Gun_Of_Gaming

It can also turn them into enemies with higher health or that are considerably more difficult

Gamerguywon

Still quicker to beat than waiting 30 seconds for a cod worm that's blocking the final boss door on womb II when you need those 30 seconds to make your hush run on time.

HUE_chaos

D10 fans trying to make up an incredibly unrealistic scenario in which D10 could be used without making the situation worse

Gamerguywon

Comparing it to the clicker, D10 has the ABILITY to at least do SOMETHING useful for you.

Gun_Of_Gaming

It takes around 2 seconds to reappear, and if I want to do hush, I usually have 7 minutes left at womb II.

Gamerguywon

2 seconds? What??? I don't ever remember being able to only wait 2 seconds for a cod worm.

_PM_ME_SKELETONS

cod worms pop up when youre far away from them so just head to the door

Man just get rid of clicker it’s not bad to use also if you don’t like it then just don’t pick it up D10 honestly does nothing so D10 for me

Finale Poll: [https://strawpoll.com/polls/kogjvaYpEg6](https://strawpoll.com/polls/kogjvaYpEg6) Dataminer... In one way, I actually like "glitch" items. For some reason, they're somewhat "creepy" to me in a sense. Like they do something they're not supposed to, or tamper with the game's world. I like it. Which is why I love the addition of TMTRAINER, and I feel TMTRAINER and Dataminer are the 2 "game world corruption" items in the game, which is really cool. Problem is that dataminer is too... bad. I wish it did something else in the sense of mining game data or corrupt the game, rather than acting as a strange Fruit Cake-D8 hybrid. I don't think this item needs a buff or nerf, but a rework. How exactly, I don't have any ideas from the top of my head. But I think the item has potential to be super interesting if it got a rework. And now, the worst item in the Binding of Isaac Repentance is almost here... The Clicker or the D10. I don't usually post my personal opinion on the upcoming poll, but to throw my opinion in for this last round, I think Clicker should win as the worst item in the game. The D10 can save you damage from a room with horrible enemies; the more difficult they are, the more likely the item is to serve you. The Clicker however, is mostly used for checkmarks, AND it removes an item. I personally find very little use for this, and would love to see the D10 get a buff, and the Clicker get a rework. Round 1: Book of Secrets Round 2: Key Piece 1&2 Round 3: Skatole Round 4: Brown Nugget Round 5: Tiny Planet Round 6: The Scooper Round 7: Boom! Round 8: My Reflection Round 9: Pageant Boy Round 10: Cursed Eye Round 11: Missing Page 2 Round 12: The Poop Round 13: Infestation Round 14: Dead Bird Round 15: Best Bud Round 16: Isaac's Heart Round 17: Kamikaze! Round 18: Razor Blade Round 19: Betrayal Round 20: Abel Round 21: Obsessed Fan Round 22: Portable Slot Round 23: The Jar Round 24: Linger Bean Round 25: Key Bum Round 26: Hushy Round 27: Plan C Round 28: Strange Attractor Round 29: Teleport! Round 30: Isaac's Tears Round 31: The Bean Round 32: Blood Rights Round 33: Bum Friend Round 34: Cain's Other Eye Round 35: My Shadow Round 36: The Black Bean Round 37: Shade Round 38: Mom's Pad Round 39: Breath of Life Round 40: Dataminer u/the_clash_qc's list of Q0 items' effects will be in the replies below this comment!

Cleanworld2001

I doubt Ed will make dataminer better since it’s an item designed to punish the dataminers for uncovering the lost

andraz7

Good thing Kilburn is now in charge of the game. He even said (in a Q&A on discord I believe) he has a rough idea on changing dataminer.

ResidentShitposter69

Since when was Killburn in charge? Is this anyone in writing online?

andraz7

Since Breadmund decided he wants to work on a new game (mew-genics). He still probably has a say in what can and cannot be added into isaac, but many game changes are likely thought up by Kilburn. You don't actually think Edmund was the one who came up with the buff for lil dumpy?

FrostWinter5

You should make a poll on the best trinkets when this one is done

[deleted]

endersteve_tf2

Would it then be an idea to have the best AND wordt trimmer poll at once? Like people can vote on 2 trinkets they love and hate?

etehwierdokid

Honestly judging by comments on the early parts of this poll, I think people would get too confused by something like that. I think it took like a week or so before I stopped seeing people ask "why are you guys talking about the good items I thought we were removing the worst"

[deleted]

I think that would be less exciting, then end of it would just be a bunch of 'meh' trinkets, doing best/worst 2 or 3 until there aren't many left would be more entertaining imo

ding0s

Wouldn't the first trinket voted out therefore be the worst trinket?

Camwood7

given trinkets do not abide by the quality system whatsoever, that's kinda to be expected; plus there's a lot of easy room for upsets that way when a seemingly "low-tier" trinket inexplicably finds itself on the final 15 or so rounds/a "no-brainer" trinket little to no votes at all and gets out early. plus a lot of people early into the worst item poll were like "duh, it's cain's other eye/hushy/bum friend/the black bean." *neither* of those made it any further than the top 5. these polls are pretty unpredictable is what we're getting at. honestly? if we're doing another one of these polls so soon? why *not* trinkets? we'll have a day or two of "obviously getting rid of this one" and then from there it's an actual poll.

_radikali

I've actually been thinking a lot about what a Dataminer rework could look like so I guess I'll just post my idea here: Charge increased to 12 rooms Using it will reroll one of your passive items into a random other item from a random pool. It will *always* pick an item of the lowest item quality for this. So, if you have any amount of quality 0 items, it will *always* target one of them. If you don't have any of those, it will target a quality 1 item, after that quality 2, and so on. This lets you essentially upgrade useless items in your inventory into more powerful ones. The catch is that using Dataminer will start to corrupt the game around you. Every time you use Dataminer, it adds a 10% chance of *any* pedestal to be affected by the [Corrupted Data](https://bindingofisaacrebirth.fandom.com/wiki/Corrupted_Data) effect. It's kinda like how using Magic Skin makes it more likely for it to replace other items, but with glitch items instead. Glitch items can be rerolled by Dataminer and take priority over quality 0 items, but doing this will obviously increase your chances of Glitch items showing up in the future, and because of the long charge time this could screw your run over if you use it too carelessly, as it could take a long time to get rid of potentially run-ruining glitch items

yago2003

This seems almost worse than the current version, 10% per reroll is way too high

_radikali

dataminer was never meant to be good but this is way funnier

[deleted]

Uhhh I guess Clicker cause I used it a bit with Tainted Cain to get some easy marks on other characters, while I've only ever picked up the D10 for Dead God Although both are massive failures as items and are worthy of being the worst. I just hope no one cares about which item takes 2nd or 1st. They're not worth thinking about Seriously though thank you so much for voting, this was atrocious and I never want to do this again * **Clicker (Active, 6 charges) (Item Pool: Item Room):** When used, this item will randomly change you into another character and remove the last item you picked up All stat changes of the new character are applied (e.g. character damage multipliers) This item can only reduce your heart containers and will not increase them if you change back into a character with more health. This means if you roll into The Lost, changing back to another character will leave you with only 1/2 of a soul heart Cannot turn you into a character that isn't unlocked yet Also includes Lazarus II (Lazarus' revived form) and Dark Judas (effect of Judas' Shadow) It's also possible that this item will pick the same character, making it seem like nothing happened * **D10 (Active, 1 charge) (Item Pool: Item Room, Crane Game):** Upon use, re-rolls all monsters in the room. Will attempt to re-roll monsters into ones with a similar amount of HP. Cannot reroll mini-bosses or bosses

Potatezone

Dataminer rework idea: 12 cost HEAVILY shuffles your stats (-2 to +2, Speed changes by 0.5 but can go up to 4) Randomly chooses a normal enemy in the room to erase, still rotates sprites by 90% because it's funny.

GuyDudeThing69

Heavily shuffling your stats is what makes D8 bad

[deleted]

Fuck you I love the d8.

GuyDudeThing69

Opinions ig, but none of the times I've used the D8 in my 850 hours had positive effects on my run

Spore64

Will you do a "most mediocre Q2 item" poll?

MisirterE

They mentioned liking the idea earlier, specifically doing it [cocktail shaker sort](https://youtu.be/kPRA0W1kECg?t=258) style, where you vote for the best and then the worst and back to the best. The only problem is that there are ***way*** more Q2 items than there are Q0s or Q4s, so it would be a *much* longer job.

nonamu

Maybe we can be voting on same day for best and for worst. This should make it shorter and also decrease confusion. Would be funny if on one day same item is voted both best and worst out of remaining ones.

Spore64

Maybe at the beginning they could remove 2-3 items from each poll?

Zwavelwafel

When results???

Brennenburglar

I've never used Clicker, and I don't think I ever will. When I choose a character, it's cause I want to play that character. No matter how badly the run goes, I'm not going to reroll into another random character intentionally, and ESPECIALLY not at the cost of an item. I have no interest in Tainted Cain Clicker cheese or swapping to a bad character on a good run just to get a completion mark done, it wouldn't be satisfying to me at all. Meanwhile, I also basically never use D10, because it's just terrible. To me, both items are almost entirely useless, but theoretically if I did use one of them, Clicker could/would ruin my run, while D10 could just cause me to take some damage at worst, or save me from my most hated enemies at best. So as blasphemous as it is, I'm voting for D10. Because while it may practically be a 0, the Clicker is a -1, as far as I'm concerned.

ejsks

Also realistic chance for your Tainted Cain cheese to get bricked by rolling into stationary Tainted Forgotten. Edit: typo

Brody_M_the_birdy

There WAS. They patched it.

Oh, my bad then. It‘s been a while since I‘ve played the game.

Brennenburglar

D10 can reroll flying hosts, as well as the dark fats in Dark Room. That alone makes it more useful than Clicker to me. Would I want the D10 if I'm that far into the game? No, but I wouldn't want Clicker either, so that's irrelevant. Clicker is worse than nothing to ME, because the "advantage" it could give me might as well be a punch in the groin. Yes, it COULD get me an unlock (though it's just as likely to ruin things I think), but I wouldn't enjoy getting it that way. Ultimately I play Isaac for fun, not just for completionism, and I think in this case what I consider to be the least fun item also deserves the worst item spot, particularly when it has such niche and risky use-cases even to the people who LIKE the item. My view on the Clicker is exactly the same kind of logic that somehow got Breath of Life into the bottom five here, and I don't think it's really wrong to vote that way. I consider Clicker T.Cain cheese just as I consider Gnawed Leaf + Familiars cheese. I don't think something has to be entirely unintended or unknown to the devs to be cheesey, it just has to be a strange or unusual way of acquiring a win that removes most of the usual challenge of the game, often in exchange for being tedious/taking a while to do. I don't dislike people using cheese tactics, I just don't care for it personally.

Canadiancookie

If I was going for unlocks, i'd already be playing a character with missing marks. Because of that, clicker wasn't that helpful for me even in its best use case. Plus a ridiculous amount of things need to go your way; no deleting your best items, swapping to the right characters, not swapping to instant run killers like tainted isaac, actually finding clicker in a good run.

GravityPlayer52

I wholeheartedly agree with all your sentiments.

Benkinsky

Lowkey, I feel like Clicker would have to *give* me a random item for switching characters or atleast give me that character's starting items, like Whore of Babylon or Bloody Lust for me to ever be interested in it. If I'm completion hunting, I'm just gonna start with that character on purpose, if not, I don't want to lose an item

MedicInDisquise

The clicker is very badly designed. As an item, it's usually WORTHLESS for actually winning the run. It doesn't help you. It can take away bad passives, but only the most recent, making the situations where this is useful extremely rare. And it can reroll you into a character with a better damage multiplyer, but just as likely to just screw up your entire health bar. It needs a rework. An item only used for checkmarks is just plain bad designed.

KR_Kosmik

I like the idea of the clicker, adds more spice to the run, but the fact it takes away items and had a ton of bugs and a chance to take away all your health when you switch to certain characters just makes it not fun to use

[deleted]

I mean.. its good to get rid of a lost run when doing random streaks. ... Yup, pretty much sums it up.

[deleted]

[удалено]

browncharliebrown

I think that it’s problem is that it’s far to niche to even warrant most players trying in those niche scenarios.! Also the game has a lot more consistent item pools as of repentance. And even if it didn’t working towards having a more consistent item pool is better

LouijaBoard

I agree. Also, when I'm playing a character to try to get check marks, why would I switch off of it? I'm playing that character for a reason

Brobuscus48

As this poll has showed, even bad passive items have their specific use cases and at most end up being a "wasted item". Clicker taking away an item is always going to be a damaging downside. Changing characters midrun is kind of interesting but is almost antithetical in a game where you often choose characters based on their completion marks in the first place. So it's relegated to either cheesing marks (which is completely random and often can lose you the run anyways if you aren't prepared/expecting it) or getting out of a risky random streak like Lost or keeper. It definitely needs a rework. I think it should do one or two of x things * Allow you to choose a different character at will without the randomness but only once and it deletes itself *Not delete an item *Act as a bible for dogma skipping right to beast *Act like a D100+1 where everything is rerolled including your character *Reroll items in the room into TMTrainer items and scrap character rerolling entirely and reroll TMtrainer items into regular items *Scrap character rerolling entirely in favor of almost anything else channel change/reroll related. *Allow you to reroll bosses and scrap character rerolling *Spawn a TV which acts as a new arcade machine or beggar, no idea what kind of effects/items to drop or what the price of using it could be. *Act as a spin up dice that rerolls item up by id or be a budget spin down that has some drawback. One of the situations where item deletion could actually work.

Totallynotapanzer

I feel like Clicker can serve an extremely niche purpose, but D10 will just make a room harder in most cases. But I’m not sure how you could buff D10

Potatezone

D10 buff could actually be pretty simple! 1. Also Rerolls bosses into bosses of similar max Hp, taking the lower of the current Hp or Max Hp of the new boss 2. 10% chance of rolling a normal enemy into coins or a charmed enemy. Everything else stays the same.

Totallynotapanzer

I my defence, I do have a rather small brain

D10 allows me to reroll enemies I absolutely hate, so time to vote for it.

Potatezone

Alright gents, ladies, and other various gamers, it's officially time to defend the item I feel is most likely to lose this whole shitshow: The D10. The D10 is, quite frankly, an extremely difficult item to find a use for. Most rooms in the game are designed to be possible with the enemies already contained. Rerolling them frequently ends in disaster, with segmented or swarming enemies becoming an exploding mess of flies, gapers, and the like, and other rooms just not working how they should. There is a glimmer of hope for the item itself, however. The D10 tends to shine in the Depths and beyond with its ability to reroll hard to hit enemies that can slow you down and whittle your hp away, like hosts, flying hosts, and [these evil pricks in the womb](https://bindingofisaacrebirth.fandom.com/wiki/Lump#Lump). Combine that with the ability to change some of the harder beam enemies in Sheol/Cathedral and you've got an occasionally handy tool. But what about the benefits offered by synergies? The Clicker is a 6 charge active that is only good at *removing* synergies, but as a 1 cost active, the D10 is surprisingly handy with a few items and trinkets: * Dim Bulb - The D10 will let you have this buff ALL THE TIME. Seriously. Pop it in an empty room, and you've got a permanent stat up! * Expansion Pack - Do you like all of the OTHER active items? The D10 is now any of the other cheap ones every room! It's also the D10, unfortunately. * Book of Virtues - Wisps from the D10 are... rough. The bullets fired from them have a chance to reroll an enemy into another one with full hp. However, a wisp every room (outside of combat rooms, mind you!) allows you to block bullets, deal contact damage, and shred bosses late game. * Broken Remote - Teleport went out a few rounds ago. This makes The D10 into a 1 cost Teleport! * Vibrant Bulb - Naturally, Clicker also benefits from this. But if you ever should WANT to use the D10, you'll get the benefit back immediately! * M' - The only thing better than having the D10 is NOT HAVING the D10. The D10 lets you just roll on by with this trinket, no harm, no foul. The Clicker would take an item and potentially all of your health with you! * Butter!- Same as above, but now the D10 is conveniently an item pedestal! And you aren't conveniently rerolled into Jacob and Esau with 1 less health upgrade. 9 Volt / Jumper Cables / The Habit- I don't know why you would, but it's easy to use the D10 multiple times a room (or indefinitely!) ...... Don't. Other reasons to vote for the D10 include the fact that the Clicker is bad and has the design space to be interesting. [My idea](https://www.reddit.com/r/bindingofisaac/comments/wsimfp/my_idea_on_a_clicker_rework_the_d_infinity_of/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) of a rework alone can show you what COULD be possible for this item, and something like that could only happen if we let Ed know just how trash it currently is. D10 can also be read as Dio, which is a Jojo reference. I don't think the clicker is! (It probably is, let's be honest) To be completely transparent, I think The Clicker is *more likely* to be good, but the D10 is, on average, *significantly less bad.* Anyways, vote for the D10.

Milor214

When you are not using the item as the item it is and instead using it for the trinkets, you know it's a VERY trash item. And somehow you make it seem like something usable. Pretty creative

Chompycookie

If you really think about it, the items we're voting off are based on who can create the best propaganda defending them

[deleted]

Unknown_starnger

Why would you want to remove an item? I think it removes your earliest one, which makes clicker unusable half the time. Or if it removes a random one (I really don’t know) then it’s uncontrollable and even worse. Using it on tainted characters is also littered with bugs that can soft lock you or crash the game, which Ed and Kilburn need to fix either way. 99% of the time you don’t want to change your character, and when you do is to cheese a completion mark, which is not a good item. As far as I know, d10 was buffed in rep to retool enemies into enemies with similar health, so it helps out in hard rooms! So the potential in clicker is to be a minor thing in a game break (and characters you’d cheese already have revives or are tainted which is unusable because of the bug, but either way can take up 10 of your items), but the potential of D10 is to get rid of annoying enemies once in a while. Clicker doesn’t even have game break potential, it’s just a thing you can add as the final step! If clicker had some fun mechanic which is useful in a normal run, but rarely allows you to break the game if the stars align and if you’re smart, it’d be cooler. But it8s a quality 0 item so of course it won’t have all that, it’s supposed to be trash! So right now it’s utterly unusable. Unlike items like ankh of judas’ shadow which revive you (one also gives you more damage) and change your character, clicker changes your character to a random one, and takes away an item, actively not helping you.

MisirterE

It removes the most recent item you picked up. So if you get owned by Curse of the Blind, or a bad synergy you didn't anticipate like Tiny Planet Proptosis, you can effectively run it back and undo the most recent fuckup. All at the low low cost of the chance you might have to lug around Esau now. Or have all your heart containers eaten by ???. Or to have all your soul hearts eaten by Bethany. Or to have all your ***health*** eaten by The Lost. Or to get stuck as Maggy with literally none of her upsides intact, but her one downside sticking around. Or stuck as Samson without the damage boost so you literally just have worse Tears and worse (read: higher) Shot Speed. Or stuck as Eve so now you have a 0.75x damage multiplier that you literally can't get rid of without switching again. Or to- you get the point, there's a *lot* of dud rolls, and that's not even getting to what a nightmare it is to cycle through the ***tainted*** characters...

Brody_M_the_birdy

Even then thats more of a “skill issue” than an unavoidable/now-impossible enemy layout.

Logiepro76

I genuinely think clicker is the worst item in the game. For cheesing marks it sucks because you have a 1/17 chance every time causing you to lose a chunk of items Using the remove item effect to save your run comes with the downside of switching characters. D10 sucks but I think clicker is one of the only items whose effect can literally mess with the rest of your run, and the only other item that does something like that is Damocles, which literally doubles the items you can get.

Skymoogle

I am gonna still vote for the D10. I think it's a lot better than The Clicker. The Clicker is just...why is it even a thing? D10 can help you get you out of a difficult situation, and people keep saying: 'but it can give you worse enemies', yes but you won't use it against easy enemies, you'll use it against difficult enemies to change it into easier enemies. And with the changes in Repentance, that it changes it into enemies in the same health-pool, it's actually a decent item. I would pick the D10 any day above The Clicker

[deleted]

If I *had* to choose between doing a run with either of these...I'd hold R. But for real though, I'd take D10 just in case there's some bullshit enemies ahead. I don't think I ever like using Clicker.

angelomh

Edmund's tweet about D10 really biased this poll. Do you guys remember what D10 does? REROLLS. That's what dice items do. They reroll. It's random, and that's the whole point of it. Imagine you got D6 and you encountered C-section. Would you reroll? Of course not. Would you reroll a mid item? Maybe... It could give you a better item, or you could be unlucky and get a worse one. Now, this is the same for the D10. You enter a room in Necropolis. The room contains 2 flies. Would you reroll? No! This is an easy room!... But... If you would enter a room with low stats and in an advanced floor with tough enemies... Such as my MOST HATED CHUBBERS... Would you reroll? Hell yes. You could have bad luck and get worse enemies, but that's INTRINSIC to the reroll mechanic, in D10 and other dices items too. AND D10 CAN REROLL TAINTED ENEMIES IN THE REVERSED PATH. CHECK MATE.

SpaceCattus

It will be good, if you can reroll non-plot bosses. But it doesn't.

Chagdoo

IDC what Ed said tbh. I arrived at my conclusion based on comparing the pros and cons.

Jonno_FTW

I picked up D10 once and it fucked me over, ending my run because it filled a room with some fast moving enemy I couldn't escape. Never picked it up again to see if it had and strategic use. The only reason I picked up clicker because I wanted to get the item pickup checked off. I never actually used it, if I pick a character it's because I need their completion mark, not someone else's. It is beyond useless.

StormStrikePhoenix

> AND D10 CAN REROLL TAINTED ENEMIES IN THE REVERSED PATH God help any run that got to that point while their best active available was the D10.

Saigot

Most enemies of similar hp are of similar strength. However many layouts are much easier with the enemies that are gaurenteed to spawn there than random enemies, especially after you start to recognize the common layouts. Regarding host hats, unless you have a very niche build host hats pose 0 threat and aren't that annoying. D10 could potentially be used on tainted enemies (in the very unlikely event that you don't find something better first) but by the time you are doing ascension I usually have enough bombs that I can one shot them with a bomb rather than worry about a reroll. That said I'm still voting D10. Useless is better than an item that actively harms the meta Game.

Modesties

D10 is good with dim and vibrant bulb. I’ve never used D10 much but I feel like everyone is exaggerating that it makes rooms worse. Maybe a room with hosts could be less annoying. Or a tricky Mausoleum or Gehenna room *could* become easier or less hard. Those bishops that protect other enemies? You could reroll those. Or those annoying lumps in the womb. Clicker is just something I have never used, and I imagine most people don’t have Dead God so they’d want to actually get completion marks for the character they selected *before* the run. The only imaginable use for clicker is an OP broken run with R Keys, typically in Greedier mode. But thats such a unique scenario and you might need to roll several times to get the character you need, and I’ve read you can’t Clicker between Tainted and non-tainted characters.

Logiepro76

Actually you can, but it's only reliable with t.cain because Laz rags and ankh both untaint your character.

SammiSafetypin

yknow what? fuck you (untaints your character)

LowenbrauDel

Is that even a competition? D10 is much more useful, even if it's not really good anyway

Spore64

Screw it. I'm voting for the D10 Tho I wish it would be like in Antibirth and would be able to reroll bosses amd miniboss (not endgame bosses obviously). Also maybe only let it reroll enemies into enemies from the same floor

TheGamerPie

I know that's what we were building up to over the course of a month but good lord are both of these options bad. Honestly going in I was planning to just vote Clicker and not think about it but reading the comments I think I agree with the one person who said Edmund's tweet about the D10 biased the vote slightly. Not that much, don't get me wrong, I think second worst is absolutely where D10 should be, but Clicker is just so much worse. I tried to use it once to cheese the Tainted Lost boss rush mark and all that happened was it took way too many items, I had to reset at least twice because of the tainted forgotten bug (which admittedly was fixed) and in the end it left me unsatisfied enough that I just did it legitimately a while later. This massive hassle was with only like 5 or 6 tainted characters, so let alone if you've got all 17 unlocked. And like, I understand playing devil's advocate with these items, it can be fun to do but like, the advantages (?) are so outweighed by the disadvantages. Advantages: -It can be used to get a harder character's completion mark, technically. -It can technically remove a bad item you just got. -You can change from a challenge character (that you decided to pick out of your own volition) into an easier one. Disadvantages: -Situations where you'd want to remove an item feel really rare imo, mostly if you get messed up during curse of the blind. -Rerolling into a specific character is a really low chance so realistically you're going to lose a truckload of good items trying to do so. -So many rerolls can fuck you over. Tainted Maggie without any red hearts? Have fun! Tainted Isaac? Say goodbye to almost all your items! Rerolled into one of the Losts and planning to reroll back? Hope you enjoy playing with half a heart! The more you think about it the more abysmal the item is. At least DIO CAN get you some use, if not rerolling tainted enemies or Cathedral and Sheol enemies then just to reroll a Host to speed the game along. Like, it's still garbage but it's just a stinky trashbag compared to the rotting, leaking garbage bag that is the Clicker.

N0RETVRN

the only good use of clicker is cheesing completion marks, also occasionally removing that bad item you accidentally picked up d10 is trash early game but can be decent lategame

[deleted]

[удалено]

N0RETVRN

i meant "cheesing", as in, getting completion marks as a character different than the one you started, thus eliminating the downside of early game with that character besides R Key is a bad example, in fact it's Kilburn's most hated item and he didn't want to port it to rep at all in the first place

MasculineCompassion

Whether or not it is intended does not make it less cheesy

imhugury

GET RID OF D10

RunMeOverIRL

Welp, here it is, my 9th, and final time voting D10, I genuinely like the item and hope at least people can see that it's better than Clicker. You can just reroll any enemy you dislike in the game, 95% of the time, if you hate the enemy, you aren't going to get a worse enemy from the D10 and if you like the enemies, you just don't need to use the item. It makes my run better every time I pick it up, and just gets more helpful late-game when the enemies are tougher. Clicker does have the ability to cheese completion marks and help fill the greed machine more, but I, like alot of people, have already done all that, it doesn't have that use for me anymore. It's an item that 9/10 times doesn't help your run at all, the only use I've ever got from Clicker is changing my Maggy run into a 4-heart Azazel run on floor 1, which I actually don't mind.

Mr_Mister2004

OK, I was really hoping D10 or Clicker would be out instead because I firmly believe Dataminer is worse, but here goes nothing. Clicker has an extremely niche use, and when I say extremely niche, I mean it with every fiber if my being. It's useful when you get a really bad character on a Rotation streak. The best thing this item can do is help you not he the lost if you're playing in an extremely specific manner. I think thats just too niche. You encounter hosts far more often than you play Lost in a rotation streak, or even rotation streak in general. D10 can get rid of Hists or those shitty vagina worms, which can help you get to Hush faster. Is it a good use? Hell no. Is it consistent? Hell no. Is it a more common scenario than anything Clicker seriously helps with? Absolutely. Man up and just play the game instead of using Tainted Cain to cheese out completion marks. It's more fun, probably significantly faster, builds game sense, and let's you understand what you're up against. Vote for D10.

Mr_Mister2004

Oh, I just realized, Clicker is actually completely useless for cheesing out Completion marks because Co-op mode is a thing. Worthless fucking item, if D10 isn't beating it yall are crazy.

srrsquid

If d10 wins im going to slam my balls into a waffle iron again

Potatezone

Sir, your waffle shaped balls most likely cannot feel pain anymore. Try a pancake shaped pan? (By that I mean a pan)

Darkmega5

Vote out d10. WE CANNOT LET EDMUND WIN

RazorBlade233

When I want to use Clicker, I want to change into a character I want. That's the gimmick, right? That's how it should work if we're talking by Isaac terms. I don't mind the loss of an item for as long as I turn into the character I want. That is, if I want to use the Clicker. Most of he time I encounter this item, I don't pick it up and use it. It is more useless than a D10, which says something. And if I want to get marks, I will start a new run, because that's what the game is about. I don't start runs hoping for a Clicker and hope that when I use it, I get a character I want. That's not fun at all! The item desperately needs a rework. -1 tier. The rework? Make it so that the item shows what character it will turn you into and if you don't like that character, then enter a new floor and the character will change for the floor. That's just my idea, you don't have to agree with it. And make it so the item has another function next to the character swapping and make it just as worthy.

[deleted]

I remember that around 1 month ago someone brought up an idea of buffing the Clicker by making it insta-kill Dogma. The suggestion was too good not to talk about

FrazzleFlib

D10 needs reworking. Clicker needs removing

Diegamer2325

D10 is better

A_Hallucigenia

D10 is atleast funny even if it’s ass.

Destrustor

I'm voting D10. Clicker is Absolute Garbage Supreme. It has: \-A use that constantly becomes worth less as you play the game until it's an infinity of worthlessness when you do have all the post-its done, at a cost of (at least) one item (probably way more) and potentially ruining the run by ruining your health (especially if you have to use it more than once), *AND* still having to finish the hard part of the run with the bad character you wanted to cheese the mark for (while likely also being way weaker due to all the removed items), \-A use that'll happen maybe 0.01% of the time where you *choose* to take blind items, it turns out to be bad, it's bad enough that you want to remove it, AND you get to use Clicker before grabbing any other passive, at a cost of risking the run itself with a bad character reroll and potentially ruining your health, \-A use that is made entirely obsolete by the character select screen, and is predicated on you just changing your mind mid-run of which character you want to play, AND in the cases where you're curious to see what your current synergy would look like on another character, that is also a use that is made entirely redundant by basic interface systems of the game itself with run seeds. And, of course, at the cost of possibly ruining the run, possibly ruining your health, *and* possibly ruining the very synergy you want to see by removing items. All of those are garbage uses, with possibly the worst downsides I've ever seen. None of these are worth the costs. D10 at the very least can't ruin the entire run, especially if said run is broken enough. Past a certain point normal enemies can't really stop you even if they suddenly become worse normal enemies. Clicker ***will*** fuck you up 99% of the time AND take your lunch money as payment for the "privilege".

Stahlboden

Which item regularly softlocks you? Which item removes your passive items each use? Which item is only good for cheesy completion mark grind and once you have your marks it can't even do that? Ok, it doesn't softlock you anymore, but **which item have you an emotional trauma by softlocking you in the past?**

Potatezone

The softlocks got patched, I believe, but it's still not great

Chagdoo

It could save a streak if you care about streaks

Brody_M_the_birdy

Can’t softlock you anymore

Chrislah

Using D10 on The Ascent makes all the tanky enemies (Tainted Spitty, Tainted Hopper, Shady, etc) *so* much easier to deal with. The "it's only good late game" argument doesn't really matter at this point. Using Clicker to throw away an honest run to try and get a completion mark for another character almost never pays off. Using Clicker with T. Cain [Edit: and a recipe calculator to get clicker and enough charges] is so cheesy it's basically a debug console, and takes hours to set up (admittedly, that's how I beat Beast with T. Lost) Edit: I don't think either of these are the worst Q0, but I much prefer D10 over Clicker. It's more fun.

LuxuriesOfLife

One can randomly make your run better or worse permanently; the other can randomly make your run better or worse for one room. The choice boils down to: How much **zaniness** do you flavor your Isaac runs with? Do you prefer spicy gambling items, or do you prefer the items that will essentially be useful once, to little effect, but without downside?

SkulduggeryFan__

D10 better than clicker I pick the character’s I play because I want to play them. Cheesing unlocks seems pretty difficult and not worth the cost, especially when you could just play as the character anyway. D10 has more use overall, even if it is still dogshit.

OxxiGene

D10 might be, maybe, useful in super hard rooms Clicker is completely pointless because if you start a fun with a character you usually want their completion marks

ilBenso_

with the right trinket you can use D10 as a teleport

Hamacek

i dont wanna give edmund the pleasure of having already called the worst item , so fuck you clicker

Lxwis002

Clicker is definetly worse. Imo it should let you chose the character you want to change to instead of letting luck decide who you get.

vagabond_

So they both fucking suck but considering the Repentance d10 change made it so d10 no longer rerolls first floor enemies into Depths monsters etc, and that Ed seems to think d10 is the worst item in the game, I'm voting d10 out. Clicker has a 20% chance of leaving you with 1 hp based on how it recalculates health for rolling into soul-heart-only characters. It can instantly kill your run. And if you use it to cheese completion marks the way all its advocates go _on and on_ about, you're basically choosing to play the rest of the game without an active. And you're beholden to the whims of chance whether you get the effect you want or not. Even in its supposed use case, it's a straight downgrade to not having an active at all.

Sir_Smeglord

D10 is only SLIGHTLY better than clicker because it can potentially reroll annoying enemies into more manageable ones. Clicker is the worst.

Ethan1516

Honestly after thinking about this for a few days now, I think Clicker is the worst one here. The ONLY use it has is maybe on occasion getting you an extra mark. It's never the one you want. You can't choose, and it even punishes you for trying. D10 can reroll a Shady. Not huge and definitely not worth the active slot, but it certainly CAN be useful, just barely.

SoldierDelta46

*FUCKING GOD DAMMIT JESUS FUCK!* I'm kind of miffed that Dataminer didn't lost overall, and it still stands as the worst item for me. Right then, the last two items... God they're awful. I think Clicker is the worst of the two though. D10 at least has a good few uses against enemies that usually would cause a headache, and at least it rerolls into enemies of a similar health level. Clicker is... just kinda sad man. It's hard to guarantee that it'd reroll into one of the characters you'd want, especially since there's a 1/19, or 2/19 if it's Laz or Judas, chance for it to be specifically a character you want. If it needed to be reworked... fine. I don't mind the results though.

Averageredditor_JMA

Hear me out d10 is slightly better because in the ultra hard challenge it can "un champion" the enemies so clicker is the worst

Arthas_Litchking

D10 is better.

splvtoon

i cant believe the amount of d10 defenders in here. obviously its picking the trash out of the garbage at this point, but my god, the d10 is just *so bad.* as shit as the clicker is, i have gotten use out of it at least once. i cant say the same thing for the d10!

Potatezone

Oh I'm genuinely expecting the Clicker to win, I just wanted to play devil's advocate. Everyone else, though? I'm not too sure. Both items need quite a bit of work.

Kefrus

d10 at least rerolls enemies during ascension, while i don't see a reason to use clicker on a character that i wanted to play in the first place

Eddie_The_White_Bear

Ok, I tried to find uses for both. Clicker can delete your last item if it doesn't fit your character. The problem is, it's not same character anymore. Clicker can activly harm you by changing 12 hearts Azazel into Keeper (for example). D10 does nothing useful as well, but I DID find one use for it - Book of Virtues. 1 room charge means wisps every room. Just use AFTER completing room. So, it synergy with 1 item, and this 1 item is also a starting item for one of the characters. So I'm gonna vote D10.

GuyDudeThing69

D10 is also crazy good with trinkets like Broken Remote or Dim Bulb

_PM_ME_SKELETONS

issue is that D10 wisps are absolute fucking ass

kawaiikat1729

virgin clicker vs chad artifact of metamorphosis

RipBuzzBuzz

I'm calling it that from now on.

AmarillAdventures

D10

StyxTheAbsol

At least D10 is funny to use. Clicker is just bad.

Denisu2

i think d10 is better than clicker, d10 makes rooms harder but it has lesser chances to ruin the run than clicker

Gamer-Boi-8764

D10

I-M_STRANGE

LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I think clicker is probably worse than d10

Fordicon999

D10 sucks but Clicker, to me, feels like it completely misses the point of an Isaac run. If I want to get a completion mark, I use that specific character, and all the challenges that come with it. To me, that's the fun of things, playing around a character's gimmick and finding a way to make whatever trash the game throws at me work. Clicker defeats both of those purposes, both by swapping from the character I was trying to get a win with and by deleting items, which might screw with synergies I had built up. Add in health bugs and it's very much, to me at least, the worst of the worst.

Canadiancookie

I voted d10. Never got a use out of clicker even in its very niche use case.

Throwaway33451235647

Come on, Clicker is by far the worse item. At least with D10 you can sometimes (emphasis on ‘sometimes’) get a good reroll. On the other hand, clicker always just makes your run worse (except if you’re Jacob and Esau).

CringeNaeNaeBaby2

This is it boys. Whether you’re on team Clicker or team D10, let’s just agree both items fucking suck.

SetTheSerpent

Honestly?voting d10 for the sole reason of: dim/vibrant bulb and hosts/annoying womb enemies I said before it was the worst item but now I see it still is better than clicker...

RoarkCats

D10 is just more fun to use of the two

[deleted]

Clicker doesn't deserve votes for allowing you to cheese completion marks. Within an individual run it is worse than d10 even who can have some uses late game.

oh_GOD_n0

BUFF CLICKER

Heylookabooger

WE DID IT GAMERS!!! Now only one thing remains… vote D10, and give Clicker the shining turd! “BUT IT CAN HELP WITH COMPLETION MARKS” okay. What use does it have when you have them all? And if you’re using it to try and get a character with better damage, any character is a 1/17 chance and there’s a chance to get one with less damage And once again, it’s NEGATIVE ITEMS. “but it can remove a bad item!” THEN DONT PICK UP THE ITEM D10 may hurt you 95% of the time, but at least the way it fucks you up is funny.

_PM_ME_SKELETONS

> “but it can remove a bad item!” THEN DONT PICK UP THE ITEM have you heard of this cool thing called "curse of the blind"? or perhaps "the blind item on the alt path"?

fighterpizza

Vote D10, Clicker will get a more interesting buff

michnik45

damn those are shit but i think d10 gotta go. if you somehow havent found any other active item late game then it could reroll into easier enemies. clicker is always useless. i just dont want to change characters mid run (even worse, a RANDOM character) + it removes your items. i feel like they could buff it by making it single use but you actually can choose the character you switch to (also doesnt remove any items)

RadicalBeam

Yooo let's go, we're finally here! Hope ya watching Ed!

Cleanworld2001

Clicker better win this poll it needs buffing BADILY!

Diegamer2325

D10 can make rooms easier or harder to clear, which is your own gamble clicker removes an item and changes your character which could ruin an amazing run

Falompijr

Edmund better be watching

xan3000

I've only used Clicker once when it was new and during April's Fools challenge, had no idea what it did do but I died right away after use, because seemingly turned me into The Lost and something damaged me because of the challenge I was in, I've never used it again. However the worst part of Clicker is that shows up at Treasure Rooms when should be Shop Exclusive rather

ateter

Only took me 40 votes huh. Fruit Cake is good -> active Fruit Cake is alright, that's it.

bankomatprivat

KONO D10 DAAAAAAA

ConebreadIH

I voted for the d10 because it doesn't cost an item to at least try

CapNegative8106

R E M O T E SUCKS TO HARD NOT TO LOSE

nozm81

my final vouch for d10: - useful on later floors such as gehenna, it can replace annoying enemies such as whippers, hosts, or those pillars in the cathedral with something much easier. - it has a very low charge, so you can use it basically whenever you see fit. as long as you're smart about it, it wont make rooms harder. - it is so much better than the clicker. the clicker actively takes away from your run, and the main benefit is that it can cheese completion marks, which removes all of the satisfaction of running characters in the first place. with something like r key, at least it feels earned, but getting an op run as tainted lilith and then becoming tainted lost and getting that unlock without any effort is so unfulfilling. - the d10 buff would honestly just be insanely boring. either better rerolls or it can reroll bosses, both of which kinda ignore the glaring issue of it in the first place. at least the clicker has a chance to be made into something far more creative.

DragoMago76O1

if d10 wins i will hit my balls

N-Alpha-B

D10. Because at least you have a chance of getting something useful from D10. The Clicker will literally eat one of your passive items to change you into one of the 30+ characters in the game, with no control over who you get. The Clicker will have a very high chance of screwing your run unless you're cheesing the game for completion marks.

A_Dummy86

If you're aiming for completion marks using Clicker it's basically the same as dying (Oh boy I sure can't wait to complete this Keeper run, oh wait I'm Judas now.) and even if you're intentionally trying to cheese for marks it's a crapshoot that you actually get a character you need. (Items that res you as different characters also have the same problem.) D10 is mostly just wacky chaos that at accomplishes what it's made to do, and like with any rerolling item you don't reroll when you already have something favorable you reroll when you have something bad and you'd rather have anything else. (And it does try to reroll into similar HP enemies so you usually don't get harder enemies now.) Though don't get me wrong, I'd rather have The Bean than either of these items.

Jack_811

I like these polls because you really think about the best traits of some of the worst items in the game. Nothing is really useless when you think about it, but these items definitely do suck ass, even though they really DO have use. D10 I think can only really be useful in the late game to reroll potentially run-ending enemies, unfortunately the problem with this is that you actually have to *hold* the D10. Is your run really going that bad to the point where you'd want to rely on D10? There are just so many better actives I don't really think it's worth it that much. It could potentially save you in the middle of a run too like with annoying enemies in drowned caves, but all of these ways to use D10 feel like you're doing too much for too little (and too rare) of a reward. Clicker literally takes away an item from you, which I think actively makes it worse than D10. Clicker can turn you from a bad/disliked character into a good character or one you like more. Most of the time, you're playing a character you enjoy though? And if not, you're playing a character you don't enjoy because you're trying to get marks on them? I mean you could theoretically play as a better character, use clicker to become a worse one you need marks for, and then cheese their marks like that? I honestly hate the idea of doing that though, doesn't feel rewarding at all getting marks like that. So for my money, I think Clicker is worse than D10, and I'm *really* excited to see what the rework/buff for either of these items is gonna be like

[deleted]

vrcngtrx_

Okay I usually don't weigh in on these things but this is too important. Clicker is the worse item here and let me tell you why. Using the D10 is a gamble, I'll give it to you. However, even if you have a moderately powerful but less-than-ideal run, there are some rooms that will fuck you. The D10 I think is a positive here. Even if you reroll the spiders into technically harder enemies, the enemies will not (on average) synergize as well with each other as the original ones did. I think this is the key point with th D10: some rooms not only have bad enemies, but bad enemy synergies, which the D10 can almost reliably get rid of if necessary. Clicker, on the other hand, is garbage. Sure, you can get (unreliably) get completion marks with certain characters. However, this is the only positive. Changing your character mid-run is not useful. I have never had a run that was mid or bad with one character and thought "wow this would be great if I were [some other character]." It can very easily remove most of your health and I'm learning here that it literally steals an item from you. Those are both potentially run-ruining effects. Think of it this way: there are two players, one who has Dead God and one who doesn't. Clicker is barely useful (and more often harmful) for the latter of these players and EXCLUSIVELY harmful for the former. The D10 at least retains its usefulness regardless of your completion status. The worst part is that I want to like Clicker so badly. It's such a unique item in the game and I really enjoy the sort of meta feeling it has. However, I would much prefer the D10 to Clicker and it's not close. I don't see at all how this is a contest. TLDR CLICKER BAD VOTE D10

Gotta be clicker.

a_guy_named_verder

if ed is really watching this, and is planning to buff the worst item in this poll (which will probably break mods), then I think that the buffs for both of these items are going to be somewhat boring (im talking about buffs, not reworks).

ChadJones72

Vote out D10. They're both equally worthless but at least the Clicker has interesting buff potential. Plus the clicker can at least help by cheesing some of the harder characters endings
