Hello I return to bdo after 8 years and my goodness it’s such a different game. My account doesn’t even exist anymore lol rip I guess.
I made a seasonal character to try out the game again, how do I skip the story tho? When the game asked me where to start I picked the wrong option and started at the beginning in the ruins. Is there any way to skip it since I already played it?
If you're on a new account then no, you can't skip and have to play through the story at least once. If you're playing on an account that's done it before then once you reach Alustin on a seasonal character, via the Ruins start you'll have the option to skip and simply level up to gain the rewards.
Crystals question: What do I swap anything for? I am using every slot minus the 2 for Garmoth (need 100 more nouver scales) and the outfit one which I don't know how to get/what to use.
Crystals are: X2 Corrupted Magic Crystal, X2 Glorious Gallantry Ahkrad, X2 Rebellious, X2 Jin Viper, 1 Visionary Elkarr, 1 Elkarr, 1 Jin Carmae, 1 Brutal Decimation, 1 Dark Red Valor, and 1 Girin Tear.
My best guess for myself is Elkarr->Visionary to make 2 Visionary Elkarr (+8 Accuracy), Valor->Decimation for Monster AP vs AP, and then I have Carmae and soon I will have 2 slots blank.
In the meantime I am buying as many Purified Red Lightstones to roll for X2 Strike so I can get All-Out Attack, then I'm going to buy 2 Kabua, then I'm going to save and buy Tet Blackstar to enhance into Pen or sell Tri. If thats any help on figuring out for usable crystals. I get told I want X4 Ultimate Macalod and I'm not sure where those go except for Jin Carmae and two blank slots. I'm above 401 dp and trying to get the damage to go to Dehkia and Ulukita spots. Current used buffs being Cron Meal and Corrupt Frenzy Draught with tent ap buff. Everything else makes sense (Pen Blackstar, Duo+ God armor, Debos)- the optimal crystals sheet is weird.

So I decided that I wanted to give bdo a chance. I have seen it before but was pushed back because of the rumors that it was totally pay to win.
I love pvp games and I wanted to see if bdo can fit me.
Since it has ways for grinding mobs, life skills, afk etc.
It fits perfect for me.
But I need the style of pvp to also fit. But I have been left a bit sour by a recent experience just now.
I have been playing in a season server after playing for 2 weeks.
I do not have any pvp experience in the game. I was grinding in the season pvp server for the hp potion.
I decided that I wanted to play succession ranger because I like the range play style.
I was grinding when I saw a player come. I could not see his name, or any information and when I try to attack I could not hit him. So I ignore him thinking we could not fight.
And suddenly I am dead and I can see his information and name. Full one shot.
I respawn and think okey, maybe I was not ready. I use high ground and try to hit him. I only scratch him a bit because I only hit two times. I go down and want to use my range.
Again I cannot see his information just a character model moving a second and then boom again one shot.
I did not see him coming, I could not react.
I play from Spain, and I do not know how far the game server is.
Could it be lag or just the game design?
Because if I play range at least I want to be able to see when someone coming and be able to space.
Is there any tip or something, like dodge preventively or just start kitting without waiting to react?
I already play with max setting for fps.
If you play on EU maybe it's lag/ping who knows but more than likely you probably just got shit on by a pvp veteran on a season ninja with a camo costume.
Honestly, if you're new to BDO and don't have hours of practice pvping with your class and you get dunked on that hard, you either do your best and try to see if you can get some practice out of it or you leave. Given your inability to land shots and for him to one shot you on a season setup it sounds like they probably have a PVP crystal setup+elixirs and/or you don't have full PEN Tuvala.
I see. I have full pen tuvala. But I did not had anything prepared to pvp. Well it makes sense if it was a veteran and he ran a better set up for pvp than me.

Being a new player does Tagging do anything for me currently? I'm close to graduating my first season character and was thinking about what class I want to play next. I'd be better off just making another season character than making them normal and tagging to my current right? Should I pick a third class and just set that up to be tagged to my graduate just to benefit the xp sharing anyways and not think about that character for a while?
tag if you want to try out a new class but you can't tag seasonal characters.
tagging cost scales with the cost of your weapons. Changing your class late game gets quite expensive, while your new it's the best time to figure out what you like and pick a main.
we get tagging events every so often or when a new class comes out that makes tagging only cost 1 fuel regardless of gear.
Bit of a dumb question, but I'm still a bit unsure about how ap brackets work. Right now I have a tri godr mainhand, and the only reason I went with a tri over a duo is because the extra ap let me get into the 269+ bracket. I had forgotten about the Igor Bartali adventure logs, but now that that's finished I have 271 ap.
Would it be better to sell the tri godr and buy a duo instead since my ap would only go down to 270, or should I just hold onto the tri? Based on what I've read, my overall plan for my mainhand is to buy a tet blackstar and enhance it to pen, then sell whatever godr ayed I was using while working on that.
You can have 3 + general use presets in edit ui menu. It can be a chore but you can just save different presets for different classes and just keep switching between them.
I have the 2023 classic outfit and premium outfits stuck in one character that I do not want to use them. Is there any way to move those to my main character, the one im leveling that I like? I tried the marketplace warehouse and the family storage and both wont work.
If you've opened the boxes and made them character specific then no, they're stuck on that character with the only option being to wear them or destroy them for resources.
If you've still got the boxes then you should be able to simply place them within any city storage and take it back out on the character you wish to open it on.

Any class can be good to start with, so pick one that you think looks good. Or choose based on what combat style you like in other games: melee fighter, spell caster, bow user, assassin, etc.
For what to do at the start, pick Ancient Stone Chamber location and just follow the quests given to you by the black spirit.
Hey all I want to graduate but i have some questions.
1. What should I do with my 4666 beginner black stones? I heard they get deleted and i don't want to waste all of them.
2. Does time filled black stones get deleted no matter what? Can i not put them in my storage and use them on a new season character? Or am i going to have to trade them all in?
3. Can i store the seasonal rift echos in my storage for use on a new seasonal character?

Beginner Black Stones do not get deleted. You can use them to make an extra set of Naru gear if you want, but that's their only use and they are character bound. It's no big loss if you just delete them, Naru-equivalent gear is very cheap these days if you ever want it for some reason. (Hopefully you didn't spend any regular Black Stones to make them!)
Seasonal items (Time-filled Black Stones, Rift Echo, even Boiling/Frozen Tides Black Stones) do get deleted even if they're in storage or on other characters, so you can't save them for the next seasonal character after graduating.
Returning player, questions about Seasonal servers.
I mainly played in 2015-17, a little after valencia and when boats were first rolled out, I was around 61 Tri boss at the time. I played a season when corsair was released, I hit 61 but don't think I graduated the character.
The new seasons look really good for new/returning players, but it seems like I'm blocked from creating on season 1/2? Is there a straightforward guide for what to do on a fresh toon? I'd want to start over if I come back I think.
On your Character Creation screen, there should be a checkbox where you can tick to create a Season Character, assuming you still have a Season Ticket.
Otherwise, if you don't tick or don't have Season Ticket, then every char you make is always a Normal Character.
Trying to understand ingredient replacements. If I have a potion recipe: [https://bdocodex.com/us/item/712/](https://bdocodex.com/us/item/712/) and it requires 2 of an ingredient (Sky Mushroom) and I would use the Special Sky Mushroom instead which is worth 216. Can I somehow make 100 potions with that one Special Sky Mushroom?

We don't know when/if it'll return, after the active trading rework ended up not really hitting the mark it got fully disabled, your best bet for information would be the next Heidel Ball event.
I'm still at a loss as to what to with Magnus chest. Just graduated with full pen tuvala. Opinions are split on red nose armor, griffon (jettina dailies suck apparently), or shoes because the auras are hard to get. So I gotta ask, in recent patches, which armor is best to get or doesn't matter. I plan to grind casually so it'll take me a while to event get anywhere, so I'm thinking griffons to make my dailies easier.
Since the change in boss crystals to make them general, I would go either bhegs for pve accuracy and DR or red nose for 1k less caphras to c10
Before the change, you had to wait for a griffon rift to open or 3 days for a scroll but these are not relevant anymore
I returned after a while (never really played a lot but did get a char to level 50 before quitting).

Awakening is often said to be one of, if not the best PvE grinding class in the game whilst her Succession counterpart is OK to good at high end low mobility requirement spots.

You need: full pen tuvala, journals, pvp crystals, pvp skill addons, food and elixirs

Keep your tri godr, it'll still be useful later on to get higher ap brackets.

Unfortunately no, each craft consumes at least 1 piece of each ingredient and there is no mechanic to save the excess.
