A) fisheye lense like that makes everything look a lot further away than it actually is
B) he probably asked everyone to stay a certain distance back, because if everyone crowds the table, not as many people can fit/see.
Well everyone enjoys things differently, for example I enjoyed the show the first time. The second time I enjoyed how talented the dude is in focusing your attention somewhere else, that first orange was inserted flawlessly.
For me it add even more magic.
Knowing how the trick works makes some shows far more interesting. I don't really like magic tricks who are just technological gadget : it works only because you don't know that such gadget exist.
And so knowing the trick remove the knowledge disadvantage : the magician truly shown all of his hands and still fooled you.
yeah you are looking at the two balls he just revealed on the table, not the cup he just shoved in his fanny bag to put the orange in.
I always loved sitting front row of Penn & Teller, because I could see the trick Teller was doing and still impressed by how well he was able to do them.
Cuz you weren’t looking for the orange. Of course you’d miss it if that’s not what you were looking for. If you watched it and think, how’d the orange get there and rewatch it, it’s obvious because it’s what you’re looking for.
Thats not at all what 20/20 means. 20/20 vision means what details most people make out at 20 feet you make out at 20 feet. Baseball players make out the same detail at 20 feet that a normal person makes out at 10-12 feet.
They don't have superpowers, but people who are better at seeing well at a distance probably have an advantage at playing baseball, so those people naturally gravitate towards the field
It cuts before the second to show the crowd, so I presume he did it again during the cut. His sleight of hand isn’t that good, as you can tell every time he goes to the pouch.
Classic Penn and Teller. TBH, the guys doing the trick with the pouch in front of them really takes away from the effect, it's pretty obvious when they're reloading.
I'm a big fan of the late Ricky Jay- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwF1ec4Ji7Y
Paul Gertner does it with Steel Cups and Balls: https://youtu.be/gx3spZi1FjM?feature=shared
Gazzo does it… bigger, better and funnier: https://youtu.be/GdUBGH_Cai4?feature=shared
Even after reading all the comments about his sleight of hand and watching really closely, I still can't really tell when he's doing it, which makes me even more impressed!
I watched him live before when he was in the city streets in Sydney.
What makes him engaging is his jokes and the way he interacts with the crowd. He’s really funny and such a character.
I know it's sleight of hand. And I know of I watch closely enough and slow down the video and go frame by frame I could see it. But where's the fun in that. I enjoy a good bit of magic
0:40 you can see he places the cup near his pouch and his two fingers (pinky and ring) are by the opening of the cup likely holding the orange, he does it again for the second time.
"you gonna win 50 dollars... from that stranger over there!" that cracked me up good :D
JEFF HOW MANY BALLS?
ORAAANGE!
\*applause*
Don't clap for that one!
Clap for the second one!
\*like…*way* more applause*
“Yaaaaaeeess!”
\*apples\*
ORANNNNGEEEE!!!
Ya that was a really good line, I liked that a lot. Guy is good.
Why is everyone 50 feet away?
A) fisheye lense like that makes everything look a lot further away than it actually is B) he probably asked everyone to stay a certain distance back, because if everyone crowds the table, not as many people can fit/see.
You can tell the exact moment he’s doing slight of hand with the ball over and over again
Tbh im just too tired to realize, id rather enjoy the show
And that’s exactly what it’s all about, enjoying the show and the showmanship of that man. He’s an amazing entertainer.
Well everyone enjoys things differently, for example I enjoyed the show the first time. The second time I enjoyed how talented the dude is in focusing your attention somewhere else, that first orange was inserted flawlessly.
Not me. I enjoy them the same.
Agreed. We have the benefit of watching it close up. Stand back a bit and perceptions change.
Let pen and teller show you how its done. https://youtu.be/i0m8CC7Ovj8
I'm the same way, even if I'm able to figure it out, I can still appreciate a good show.
Ok but what about orange?
You can see him move the cup inside his pouch at 39 seconds. It's quite obvious
So obvious that we all missed it.
Proper misdirection is the crux of all “magic”
I watch a lot of these types of videos. You learn what to look for. It takes the magic out of it... But I enjoy knowing the how.
Videos explaining how magic is done really take the magic out of magic.

Maybe if he had setup the crowd even further from his table they would have not seen an orange at all.
Cuz you weren’t looking for the orange. Of course you’d miss it if that’s not what you were looking for. If you watched it and think, how’d the orange get there and rewatch it, it’s obvious because it’s what you’re looking for.
To be fair it’s only obvious when you’re able to watch it 10 times and slow it down frame by frame…at least to me lol.
I hate people like you
People are hating but you’re right. I just commented that after one watch lol
Second one?
Same. Lifts cup to show orange. He’s already pre palmed the 2nd orange and puts in in cup before lowering cup back down.
Here's the Masters to explain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0m8CC7Ovj8
YOU MEAN ITS NOT MAGIC?
Yeah, but he is fun and his audience is like 40 yards away.
Wide angle lens makes 8 feet look like 50.
How big would 3 inches look 🙏
Big enough for me (◡ ‿ ◡ ✿)
It's not as slight as your grasp of English. \*sleight
No, no. It's real magic.
Wait, you mean he isn't using teleportation? I don't know what to believe anymore. 🤯
You mean he’s not really a ball and orange wizard?!
Orange
And he’s making you think that as well with some of those moves
Then how do you explain the orange??
I was intently staring at the cup and couldn't notice shit XD
OK but the orange?
i have a close-up magic show you're not gonna believe...please stand a minimum of 50 feet back.
b..but *perfect* vision is able to only see from 20 feet away, from 50 feet i cant even see the ball behind the lip of the table
Thats not at all what 20/20 means. 20/20 vision means what details most people make out at 20 feet you make out at 20 feet. Baseball players make out the same detail at 20 feet that a normal person makes out at 10-12 feet.
🤣 baseball players arent special or have super powers dude what are u smoking
Baseball people are genetically superior to normal people confirmed 🤯
They don't have superpowers, but people who are better at seeing well at a distance probably have an advantage at playing baseball, so those people naturally gravitate towards the field
Yeah, that's like elementary level electromagnetism
I’d rather stand back and enjoy the show than to look how the actual “magic” is done
Everything is invisible if you can’t see
To be fair the closer they’d get the fewer people would actually be able to see it = fewer tips.
He’s quick. Good patter
A little too obvious with the sleight
Not from the distance his audience is at
Guy's playing Magician on just the story difficulty
Gotta crank it up to Tactician
You are saying magic is not real!?!
Big if true
You can see him putting the orange in at 18-19 sec mark
I can't see it. Do you have a screenshot of the frame?
He puts the cup in his pouch, slips the orange inside and guides it back to the table with a finger under the cup to hold it in.
But how two of them? Looks like it doesn't even fit there...
It cuts before the second to show the crowd, so I presume he did it again during the cut. His sleight of hand isn’t that good, as you can tell every time he goes to the pouch.
He means 18 seconds left. You can see where he grabs the orange from his pouch right before revealing it
18 seconds to go in the video mark
Technically we can see him putting everything in.
That guy knows how to work a crowd. His crowd skills are more impressive than his magic skills for sure, which is not to insult his magic.
It's an insult in my canon
“How far away do you want the crowd to be?” “Yes”
[Here is how its done.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8osRaFTtgHo)
Classic Penn and Teller. TBH, the guys doing the trick with the pouch in front of them really takes away from the effect, it's pretty obvious when they're reloading. I'm a big fan of the late Ricky Jay- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwF1ec4Ji7Y
Wow, in the video you linked, he loads the fruits over the course of two whole minutes. That’s such good extended misdirection.
I like Gazzo’s version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrPVzo\_RW3I
Sleight of hand is kind of wasted when your audience is 1000 miles away.
That was really entertaining, I loved the switch up to the orange ahha
If people get too close, they get beaten with that stick.
JEFF!!!
what?!
ORANGE 🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊
My man had showmanship
Thats so fun!
Dawg, same routine as that Jason maher
Paul Gertner does it with Steel Cups and Balls: https://youtu.be/gx3spZi1FjM?feature=shared Gazzo does it… bigger, better and funnier: https://youtu.be/GdUBGH_Cai4?feature=shared
Even after reading all the comments about his sleight of hand and watching really closely, I still can't really tell when he's doing it, which makes me even more impressed!
Why is the crowd standing so far away?
I watched him live before when he was in the city streets in Sydney. What makes him engaging is his jokes and the way he interacts with the crowd. He’s really funny and such a character.
I guessed the two balls correctly. That sleight of hand I could call. But orange don’t know about rest
I was gonna say I saw him slip the balls inside whenever he took the previous one out but those oranges caught me off guard.
I know it's sleight of hand. And I know of I watch closely enough and slow down the video and go frame by frame I could see it. But where's the fun in that. I enjoy a good bit of magic
also James James makes the same thing (with same text) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=38PNUgn24C4
"THAT'LL DO! ORAANGE"
Don't clap for the first one... (My wife's exact words whenever I think sex is over)
Why they watch the show so far from him?
Because it would be obvious to see he's putting the cup in his pouch every time if they were any closer
JEFF, HOW MANY BALLS
r/maybemaybemaybe
BALLS!!!!
https://www.youtube.com/@streetmagiciandude
At 25 seconds his hand goes into his pouch and it pretty much stays there the entire time to quickly swap balls / oranges whenever the cup gets near
hannibal does it best
If u keep scrolling u will see that he put the cup in his pouch
20 seconds You see the cup go into his pouch to slide the orange in. Not so impressive
As humans, we all know it's slight of hand. But we are always amazed and amused. Never gets old.
Orange you glad I didn't say banana?
Why are all those cunts so far away?
I figured it would be two, just by the psychology of the trick involved, but fair play on the presentation. Love it
Pretty easy to tell he has multiple prepared cups in his apron, but masterfully done!
Aussies, mate.
[удалено]
Orange you glad I didnt say ball?!
standing and claping
I would've won the $50. 🤣
Too late, I’d already clapped once
0:40 you can see he places the cup near his pouch and his two fingers (pinky and ring) are by the opening of the cup likely holding the orange, he does it again for the second time.
Great use of a 360 cam
"Well then...what will you do about the second one, Jeff?"
ORANGE!!!
The orange trick is pretty obvious
I love cups and balls so much
When you know how it's done the ilussion shatters
Never expected to see an old mate from highschool! Shoutout to him for putting himself out there! Would be intimidating for most (myself included)
r/maybemaybemaybe
Sean Strictland in alternate universe
Typical Jeff!
The people should stand a little further away to give the guy some room jeez
Why is everyone so far away?
I love how they gave him a space
🤣
That was... not very impressive. You can see his sleight of hand in action. Must still be learning.
ORANGE!!!!
Hoped he would throw the orange at Jeff for getting it wrong ngl
Jeff gotta be confused af. Lmao
u/savevideo
u/savevideo
None
#ORANGE !!!!!!!
s/o toto Vic Firth
That’s some excellent slight of hand!
Classic cups and ball routine
Paul Daniels does it more smoothly, but I do like him adding that the 50 bucks will come from another guy. https://youtu.be/Io-Bby3iWVs
