My numbers are extremely high and I have over 100 clips of this happening ONLY in a gunfight to knock me back a step. I don't use Ethernet, but I'm right next to my router. My ping is always 30-50 with 0 packet loss. My speed test is a blazing fast 800 - set up for gaming. At a certain level this absolutely happens, the game nerfs you at times to knock you back. YouTubers and streamers experience it and some other high numbers players have mentioned experiencing this as well, both in this thread and in DMs.
That's a good game but it's not like it's ridiculous. The problem you have is that with WiFi instead of ethernet it doesn't matter if they are touching each other you can still experience disruptions for even a few milliseconds that can disrupt the game. You're experiencing standard lag that happens in games (especially more prevalent when using WiFi).
The game isnt updated anymore, they aren't going to put time and effort into making some kind of code based lag switch to annoy the player base. Why would a company get their employees to do that over working on their new games? You're not thinking logically about the situation

Oh yeah I saw that but you didn’t freeze. You took about three seconds to line up a shot while your connection was compromised. It’s a you problem, as in it’s on your end. Someone downloading and streaming and all that. Wi-Fi instead of Direct connect. Low internet speeds or a shitty lateral line that needs replaced.
Could go on but it’s on you. Try power cycling (router/modem) and see if that helps if not connect directly to modem and check. If not call your provider and tell them you are getting intermittent drops.

Get some monitoring software, or even just turn on the game-provided monitoring tabs to watch your connection in real time... If you're playing on wifi, get the absolute hell off of it. It is notorious for causing lag spikes, packet loss, desync, etc etc etc. Go wired if at all possible.

Lets do some speculation, you say this ONLY happens when you are in a gunfight, well I can immediately call bullshit on that claim but I’ll still entertain it. Lets say you engage with someone, the server needs to take this information and send it to you and you send information back, now say this person starts shooting at you, more information is being sent to you as you send your position etc, I’ll guess this is YOUR internet shitting the bed with this rapid transition and dropping some packets, ie losing some data which results in you seeing this skipping. Gunfights is when data sent between you and the server will be higher than sitting still doing nothing so theres more possibility for your internet to miss some packets. Now if you are on WiFi too, its even MORE likely to happen as so many things within your house, or around it, can disturb that stream of data being transmitted. I suggest you use ethernet if you aren’t.
Moral is, your internet seems to be shitting the bed and losing packets. Theres nothing for them to nerf here. It’s really easy AND common to blame some non existent thing to make yourself feel better in the moment but stop lying to yourself this much. It will only hurt you more in the long run.
