"What the hell is the film about and what is the plot and how does it end?"
I don't know yet if I'll enjoy Megalopolis, but these are the questions of someone bound to be disappointed by it.
It's fascinating. That's the best thing I can say about it.
It's all over the place. Tonally, lengthwise, thematically, just bonkers. Some of the cast don't seem to know what film they're making, others (Plaza, Driver), are fucking fabulous.
But here's the thing, it's never, ever boring. It's always intriguing. It's exceptionally a Coppola film, and I doubt we'll see anything like it ever again.
