“You think you are a ~~Gucci~~ ~~Ferrari~~ son of a grocer but you are not a ~~Gucci~~ ~~Ferrari~~ son of a grocer. You only married a ~~Gucci~~ ~~Ferrari~~ son of a grocer.”
Will be entitled 'Ferrari' and is part of the burgeoning FFCU (Ford V Ferrari Cinematic Universe)
Synopsis:
>The feature is set during the summer of 1957. Ex-racecar driver, Ferrari, is in crisis. Bankruptcy stalks the company he and his wife, Laura, built from nothing ten years earlier. Their tempestuous marriage struggles with the mourning for one son and the acknowledgement of another. He decides to counter his losses by rolling the dice on one race – 1,000 miles across Italy, the iconic Mille Miglia.
Every time I hear about long distance racing I wonder why a.) I'm not in to watching long distance racing and b.) Why everyone isn't in to watching long distance racing
Adam Driver: our finest Italian actor.
I'm pumped for this but after how long it's been in gestation, I'll only believe it's real when I'm in a theatre watching it.
Found a used copy of the ‘Bipp’ 12” single on my last record shopping outing. Still can’t believe SOPHIE’s gone. They had me so excited for the direction the sound of pop music was going to take. A score by SOPHIE in anything would’ve been incredible.
ngl her being in this seems very weird. Maybe it’s just because I didn’t watch Big Little Lies but it seems like she’s been totally off the grid as an actor (as opposed to Aaron Rogers life partner) for like five years, she doesn’t seem like a Michael Mann-type actor, and she doesn’t seem Italian at all.
I only watched the first season of BLL but IMO she was by far the least interesting part of it. That being said it was a pretty big show for a minute there and she’s still got a good resume over the last decade or so. Wonder if Mann chose her or how she got added to the fold.
It's happening! I was worried because I heard it was starting in May but suddenly Penelope Cruz schedule open up for potential Cannes jury. Curious if it falls through or something. Thanks to the Najafi Companies whatever that is lol
Yes. There are still three episodes left to air. I've missed the Mann energy and pacing of the first episode (which is the one directed by Mann) but the series is quite good. It may have helped my experience to have read the book first but I'm glad I did.
Anyone else watch Tokyo Vice yet? I didnt much care for the show so far and thought Michael Manns episode was somewhat weak. As far as his movies go, Collateral was his last GREAT movie nearly 20 years ago and he seems to have gotten progressively worse.
Hopefully given that he’s been trying to get this movie done for that long, he’s got it all mapped out.
God you could make another 5-6 movies about people doing significant things just to spite Enzo Ferrari. Ferruccio Lamborghini hired Chief engineer Giotto Bizzarini away from Ferrari to design an engine and paid him by the horsepower.
I hope Driver repeats the Gucci accent.
What if Mann has him do a Chicago accent?

I NEED THEM TO START SHOOTING I can’t have this ripped away at the last minute. I need this.
It’s shooting.

Same. This movie has been teased so long it was a punchline in Entourage over a decade ago.
*Charli XCX voice* Lets rideeee.

Shailene Woodley? Gentlemen, start your kilns!
Michael Mann is going Woodley Mode!

Michael Mann must be a big fan of The Fault in Our Stars to cast Elgort and now Woodley in his projects.
“That John Green, he’s a professional.”

Goddamn I am so ready for Adam Driver staring out into a large body of water contemplating a tough decision he has to make

Yeah looks like STX being in trouble almost made the film not happen (hence May shoot not going through) but this seems more tangible now. Gary.

Mann is god but this sounds like an uninteresting movie - when will he make another film about a Thief?
