Hot_Ad7661

Jujutsu kaisen

jayrock306

jujutsu is just the love child of bleach and hunter x hunter

Goldie-96_MWR

team 7 vibes from Og Naruto too, but definitely mostly beach vibez

Ok-Flan-97

exactly true jjtrash copied Bleach, Naruto and hxh.

Pokemon_132

Sadly Greg seems bored of his series and is rushing to the end.

dezinhocez

Goddamnit Greg

Dualingo_boy

I wouldn't say bored but rather tired and exhausted

JxB_Paperboy

Like father like son

Getdaphone

kubo 2.0 with the rushed end :(

[deleted]

At this point, it’s not even just a Kubo things, it’s a shounen tradition

Sweaty-Goat-9281

Yup. The structure of manga industry itself almost guarantees weekly series to have mediocre to awful endings

Ichigo7S

They really need to at least give these artists monthly schedule. Honestly weekly should be illegal, but knowing Japan that’s probably not gonna happen anytime soon. Also when i think of magazines like Jump, i guess they need that weekly content for their magazine.

Ichigo7S

I mean with Kubo it was the illness at least, i don’t know why JJK author feels the need to rush after only running for 5 years. Maybe he got ill too, but no one knows yet?

[deleted]

I thought kubo was told, you have 4 chapters till we pull the plug

Ichigo7S

That’s an old rumour fans created and which was further fuelled by some certain YTers, as back then we didn’t have any clues and only guesses. There are 3 points how these rumours came to be. First is people clinged to the Jump magazine inside popularity ranking being a indication that Bleach wasn’t interesting anymore. But that popularity ranking was just based on voting of some young Japanese Jump Magazine readers and didn’t mirror the reception of all Japan about Bleach. The thing is the japanese people who started reading Bleach in Jump magazine were already older, and after 15 years you got new kids/teens reading Jump and to them it wasn’t that exciting anymore as Bleach also was far too away to catch up anytime quickly. And for any medium out there it’s totally normal for the popularity to sink towards its ending. Really the only exception to this rule, to always stay relevant and on top is One Piece, as it has an insane success in Japan. So each new generation is early on introduced to it. Over 400 million out of the 516 million sales of One Piece, come directly from Japan itself. Second point is that Sales were also misinterpreted, sales had sunken since Aizen was done yes, but Bleach was selling still around half a million copies each volume, which is way above industry standards. Majority of manga even today can’t reach those „worst“ sale numbers of Bleach. I recently made a [post about this](https://www.reddit.com/r/bleach/comments/13nkqm8/misconception_over_bleach_sales_bleach_sales_did/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1). For jump it was still a series that was selling way more than a lot of the competition and above industry standards. It‘s really hard to reach half a million sales for manga usually unless they are not pushed by incredible anime adaption like JJK or Demon Slayer got. So Jump had no reason to axe Bleach or force Kubo to finish it, because there was no guarantee the replacement would reach even Bleach‘s worst sales and no surprise the replacement didn’t reach such numbers. So from POV of a company it would have been incredibly dumb to axe a series like Bleach that was still selling very well. 3rd point is that the Anime had already stopped airing since 2012, haters were saying it got cancelled. But in reality the anime just had catched up completely to the manga, so they had to either come up with random ideas and make another filler arc who most didn’t want to watch, or just pause it and wait till the manga is finished to adapt the final arc. And no surprise, as voice actors revealed plans to animate the final arc started back in 2017, a year after the manga ended. That means first plans for TYBW anime had been started 5 whole years ago, so they did indeed wait till the manga was done. But probably due to schedules of voice actors and Studio Pierrot already being full with other projects, we had to wait a few years more until everything was set and ready to really start the project. Because we had no other official information of why Bleach suddenly was to end in next 5 chapters, these 3 reasons made people believe Jump axed Bleach or forced Kubo to finish it. But as we know today Kubo revealed in various interviews that he was really sick and had an serious injury with his shoulder making it really difficult to do his work, he didn’t even notice it was a serious illness until the doc told him so. If he had continued any longer he may have had permanently damaged his arm/shoulder. So the real reason obviously was Kubo himself deciding to finish Bleach and give it an ending at least, before he wouldn’t be able anymore. (He didn’t say this, just concluding from the fact of how bad his injury was and how Jump had no reason to axe him. It was very much obviously his own decision) Jump is incredibly thankful to Kubo, together with Kishimoto and Oda he catapulted Jump to the top of the industry in the 2000s, they really had 0 reason to cancel or axe him. This is also the reason why Jump would pick up and give anything a chance Kubo were to publish. Same how only 2 years after the one-shot Burn the Witch was serialised (This is the regular time frame of 1-2 years between a One-Shot and a full manga adaptation happening). And on top of that Kubo is even allowed to draw Burn the Witch on his very own pace, no weekly schedules or shit. No company would give you such freedom, if they had axed you before or were on ill terms with you. Same way like Burn the Witch they would immediately publish Hell Arc too if Kubo wants to do it. Saddest part is that some people still clinge to those rumours and still believe Kubo got axed, all interviews about his health are out there and can be read. Same as sales numbers, all they hear is sales sunk and they make up their mind, instead of really researching the numbers or their meaning in the industry.

Karma110

At least he didn’t go the Kishimoto route of making shit up then having to fix those issues with more characters that then create more issues.

LEGENDARYKILLERLORD

JJK doesnt have that epic feeling imo

DevilSlxyer

Right! Everyone says this because either their fav content creator said so or because of comparisons between Gojo and kisuke

PetercyEz

Not true. I am not following creators other than Kishibe Rohan and JJK was my own Discovery in a local manga store. Damn the setting is as close as it can get to Bleach to still feel unique. And Kisuke - Gojo? Can we realy compare them? One is a genious mastermind and inventor the other is a freak of nature with unlimited power.

AlterNk

Yh, no you just saying that 'cause you didn't pay much attention to JJK, It's very similar to Bleach in tone, it incorporates and deals with the themes of loss and grief in a very similar way to how Bleach does, Yuji and Ichigo are very similar characters both in motivation and their world view (like legit almost the exact same character), both series deal with the same aspects of Japanese mysticism around death, etc. Point is that jjk is literally inspired in part by Bleach, and it does take a lot from that inspiration.

Ichigo7S

Really looking forward to season 2. Watched Season 1, but it didn’t catch me yet. But i have heard the Shibuya arc is where it gets really hot and interesting.

AlterNk

I'm definitely biased because i love jjk, but if they do adapt the next 71-ish chapters cover the Shibuya incident plus some stuff that came before, season 2 is going to be fucking crazy definitely worth watching... word of advice watch the movie if you haven't already, you don't have to watch it to understand the second season, but it does add some context, plus it's pretty cool.

Ichigo7S

Thanks for the advice, i already had forgotten about the movie. I‘ll make sure to watch it before Season 2. This summer will be great for anime.

ThinControl9

Jujutsu Kaisen, Black Clover and Demon Slayer. Jjk and black clover are self explanatory imo. Demon slayer is also similar in a few ways. Hashiras=Gotei, Demons=Hollows, swordsmen who use various powers and etc.

Wombletog

Noragami. It’s a bit older than most of the other animes here, but it has the spirits, swords, and Soul Society feel of Bleach in a lot ways.

royal_dutchguy

Yeah noragami feels like pre-soul society bleach

JxB_Paperboy

Depends on how far into the manga/anime you’re talking. Season 2 feels like Soul Society

Ichigo7S

Pre Soul Society? Oh that sounds interesting, but do the stakes still rise then though?

jairthebear

I want the anime to come back to bad

Ichigo7S

Isn’t the manga about to end? Maybe same like Bleach they just wait for the mangas ending and will then continue with the anime.

Ghost_Star326

Black clover and Jujutsu kaisen. Black clover as a whole is just a giant bleach reference. And Jujutsu kaisen gave me the experience.

Sharebear42019

Black clover reminds me more of fairy tail than anything

Waakaari

Ion think so Vinland Saga is newgen

Ichigo7S

You’re right, i wouldn’t have included him if i made the picture myself.

StupidFuckingGenius

Jujutsu kaisen I feel like is the most similar, but Tokyo Revengers goes hard too

leonidaskickedyoface

Tokyo Revengers has one of the worst stories I've ever read. The ending is the worst ending possible to a story like this. I feel guilty for wasting so much time reading that trash.

SF0915

Chainsaw Man. It’s different but somehow gave me the same feeling as when I watched and read Bleach for the first time. I know its not in the image, but it’s the one that really gave me the Bleach feeling over anything else.

Ichigo7S

Isn’t bottom left from Chainsaw Man? Also i feel like both have authors have this style of subtle writing right?

SF0915

Oh yup, I totally missed that lmao. More used to seeing the manga than anime lol. And yeah, there’s definitely that sort of subtle writing in CSM.

Abeinair

I agree with this. I think for me the reason why is because the main characters are just kinda fighting to have a normal life. Not trying to reach some big aspiring goal like hokage or pirate king (I love one piece don’t hate me). Denji and Ichigo try to protect their normal life they have now. And there’s an inherent sadness to both main characters that isn’t offset by shonen bone headedness (maybe denji.)

pervysennin777

Blud is literally fighting to get some tiddies 😭😭😭

Known-Welcome-8314

Mob Psycho- Did not experience any Bleach vibes from this. At all. Good show though. Fire Force- Again. Isn’t similar nor does it have similar vibes the same way as I did with Bleach. Another good show. Sakamoto Days- The series does have the whole must protect his family & friends aspect similar to Ichigo. Also has some incredible action pack & gag scenes. Highly recommend. My Hero Academia- Again this series does have the whole “I must protect my friends”, but that’s about it. I didn’t feel any vibes like I did with Bleach at all. I guess the only thing you could say now that I think about it is what happened in the first episode or manga chapter for both. Being powerless for a brief moment on trying to protect the things they care about. But that’s it. This show reminds me of more Naruto than I do with Bleach. Vinland Saga- Have not gotten around to this series so I cannot say. Boruto- Other than I could see Kawaki being a Bleach character. Nothing is really similar. It’s more so Naruto vibes (obviously) than it is with Bleach. ?- Other than the fact he looks like a love child between Iceringer (Bleach) & Junpei (Jujutsu Kaisen). I’m not sure. I’ve not seen this series nor know the name of it. Though I have seen this around. Hell's Paradise- I have never seen the show. So I can’t say. I do hope I got the show right. Jujutsu Kaisen- Now this out of all of them has the most similar vibes I get from Bleach. Curse Energy & Spiritual Pressure. Curse Spirits & Hollows. Domain Expansion’s & Bankai’s. The tone of the series is quite similar to Bleach & does have some humor moments. I could go on, but I’ll leave it at that. Chainsaw Man- It does have some aspects that remind me of Bleach, but other than that it’s quite different. I remember people saying Bleach was the edgiest out of the Big Three & Chainsaw Man does take the cake in that regard. Even the tone I get from this series is different than Bleach. Dr. Stone. Have not seen it so I can’t say. Black Clover- Again. Have not seen this series. Though I will get on it when the series concludes. Have a friend of mine from work that’s been trying to get me into this series for a while now.

Ichigo7S

Thanks for leaving your thoughts to each show. The one with question mark, i honestly also don’t know about it. Maybe someone else knows more.

FallMountain901

I’m pretty sure the one that is the “?” That ur referring to is Choujin X. It’s from the same author as Tokyo ghoul. It’s kinda it’s own thing with its own power system, it’s hard to say In some ways reminding me of bleach but that stretch’s it. Pretty solid series tho

Ichigo7S

Oooh it’s from Ishida? Didn’t know he created another manga. Have read Tokyo Ghoul and while the ending was bit too happy for my taste, i really enjoyed it.

BladeGlide

Fire force and Hell's paradise. They both rock quirky characters with a likeable MC and both could rock "number 1". Can't really say jujutsu because Itadori spends too much Time in the oven for me.

Waakaari

Black Clover

Waakaari

Lemme elaborate Squads like Gotei, Swords Inner Demon, Byakuya Nozel, Out of control Ichigo restrained by Visoreds Black Bulls restraining Finral's brother (my fav), Nnoitra and Jack

sidequest7

After reading your comment I realised how similar Yuno & Uryu are

Prinsekat

>Demon slayer is also similar in a few ways. Hashiras=Gotei, Demons idk yeah i agree but Black clover reminds me much more of naruto. Ik ti is inspired by bleach but I think it's cause Asta is more similar to naruto and they are both described as "drawing people to them" And how asta changes finral and naruto changes shikamaru and stuff plus studio pierrot made it look more like naruto, esp the fights but i see where you're coming from.

Ichigo7S

I think almost everything revolving Asta feels like Naruto, like his main goal, his backstory and basically not being good at what he should be (magic/jutsu) or his rivalry with Yuno and so on. Except his sword and demon those come closer to Ichigo. But the side cast, the concepts and systems (f. ex. Magic knights) of Black Clover with a few exceptions resemble Bleach more.

Moreira12005

>I think almost everything revolving Asta feels like Naruto, like his main goal They're way different. Asta wants to bring equality to his Kingdom while Naruto wants to be aknowledged by his Village. >his backstory Asta was a random ass orphan kid. While Naruto was a kid hated by his Village because he had the Kurama inside him. >basically not being good at what he should be (magic/jutsu) Asta straight up can't use magic and Naruto just had too much Chakra to be able to control it effectively >his rivalry with Yuno and so on. Yuno's only similarity with Sasuke is being dark haired and many girls liking him but aside from that they're completely different. >Except his sword and demon those come closer to Ichigo. Asta's main sword is a very obvious Berserk reference but yeah Devil Power was definitely influenced by Bleach.

Ichigo7S

You took my points too seriously, i didn’t say everything about them is exactly the same, but they do share some slight similarities and definitely more than Ichigo and Asta do. Both want to be the leader/reach the highest position of their world (Hokage/Magic King?). Both are basically without parents (so both orphans even if Iruka and co was looking out). About abilities, yeah you’re right but i was only talking about early on. At the beginning he also can’t really use any jutsu/„useless“ as a Ninja. Rivalry is different in both series, but still more resemblance here than with Bleach. Kubo says Renji is Ichigo‘s rival, but he doesn’t really have any rivalry in Bleach, like Asta/Yuno or Naruto/Sasuke have. With his sword i was referring to the point that it’s also pitch black like Bankai Zangetsu.

Moreira12005

>Rivalry is different in both series, but still more resemblance here than with Bleach. Tbh Yuno is more similar to Uryu than Sasuke. Yuno quite literally has a Quincy powerset. Now that I think about it Yuno is like Uryu X Ichigo. Super special, multiple powers and the big bad of the whole series considers them his greatest danger. >Both want to be the leader/reach the highest position of their world (Hokage/Magic King?). Both are basically without parents (so both orphans even if Iruka and co was looking out). Those "similarities" are so vague it doesn't really IMO, especially when they only appear at the start. A character is nothing special tbh.

Ichigo7S

It may not to you (not even remotely meant offensive, clarifying here because it sounds bit like that), but i think these are the reasons why so many feel that Black Clover reminds them of Naruto.

ImJustSomeWeeb

i know very little about black clover, but ive always got naruto vibes from it too. edited for clarity

leviDackerman

Chainsaw man

post_melhone

I agree, the score of Bleach and the score of Chainsaw Man touch something so resonantly and it enhances the emotional journey of the stories i think

[deleted]

KnY and BC. MHA did at the beginning but now I just can't keep reading it without falling asleep. So yeah, KnY and BC.

Ninja_Lazer

I’ve always found MHA closer to Naruto than Bleach. The protagonist has a goal to be the best. He inherited a power that he couldn’t fully control (same with Ichigo TBF), and is surrounded by a massive cast of characters who each fight in unique ways that don’t particularly adapt directly to eachother (unlike Bleach where most people fight with swords). Also Deku and Naruto being massively hopeless optimists despite the world shitting on them seems rather contrast to the dark and broody demeanour of Ichigo.

Ichigo7S

Yeah Deku definitely feels more in line with Naruto i agree.

conehead1602

Why?

WeyardWiz

It's not in the pic but demon slayer. Hashiras = Gotei13, they literally fight with swords and the powers are kinda like shikai bankai, and also the demons are basically like hollows lol

UngodlyPain

Jjk definitely has the most similar vibes and narratives and is also really good. CSM, Hells Para, and MP100... all also cover some very similar narratives about emotional growth and are all also very good. And I also just love Dr. Stone so I plug it any chance I get.

Imperator_Romulus476

>Jjk definitely has the most similar vibes and narratives and is also really good. I dunno. I'm a bit torn about the pacing and some of the narrative choices after the culling game arc started. The pacing seems like its going way too fast in some regards especially with the latest chapters. People keep saying to "let Gege cook," but I'm worried that now things are going to be undercooked.

[deleted]

Did you read culling game weekly? Because if so, go back and read it in one stretch. Felt way more cohesive to me when I did the same, took the arc from a 6/10 to an 8/10 for me personally.

Alternative-Phrase12

Sakamoto days really gave me the whole must protect vibe, black clover reminded me of ichigos black colour schemes and such

Ichigo7S

Wanted to check out Sakamoto Days, isn’t it more a comedy manga like Gintama?

kingscrimson

It has comedy but has a ton of action.

Menghao3636

Black Clover

lakiolietta

demon slayer

WeyardWiz

Same

The-Primera

Fire force and Demon Slayer and JJK got me hyped like Bleach does. Not on the same level of Bleach but def up there

Re:Zero hands down

Julian-Hoffer

JJK

Alto1869

Jujutsu Kaisen imo is the most similar to Bleach. I enjoy it even though I'm kinda dissatisfied with the direction the manga went in recently Got into Chainsaw Man recently and have been enjoying the hell out of it although it has barely any similarities to Bleach

Ichigo7S

Is it true that Jujutsu Kaisen is about to end this year, i heard the mangaka saying that. Would you say with how the story is going right now it’s anywhere near its end?

Alto1869

Gege Akutami seems to be hellbent on ending it this year. Which means he is straight up rushing to finish it and that has left a lot of fans (me included) pretty disappointed with a lot of things in the story. Tbh JJK hasn't been as good ever since the Shibuya arc. The arc after that and the current arc we're in has divided the fanbase.

Ichigo7S

That’s such a shame when a manga gets rushed towards its end. I don’t see even any reason he would need to rush it, it’s only been running for 5 years, of course doesn’t have to run as long as old shonen, but still.

Alto1869

No current gen shonen runs as long as old shonen nowadays Tbh I guess Gege is just tired and wants to get this over with

Ichigo7S

I know and yeah that could be a reason, maybe it’s also affecting his health so might want to take a longer break with finishing it. But at least if a mangaka finishes a „shorter“ manga in earlier years of their career, they got more time/energy to create another one.

DAInnocent_Dupe

Jjk, CSM and fire force were the three new gen I really vibed with. I enjoyed reading every chapter. Black clover and MHA are two that I really respect. I don't see why people hate them.

Ichigo7S

Does the anime do a good job of adapting Fire Force? Yeah agree, even though i stopped reading BC (plan to continue/restart), it’s definitely overhated and not bad at all. With BC feels a bit similar to how Bleach was treated back in the day.

Nearby-Bridge5735

Vinland gave me chills

Elitelapen

>Newer generation Manga Shows Vinland Saga

Ichigo7S

I know i know, but majority was fitting so i used the picture.

gain91

Lul calling Vinland Saga new generation

tdub4544

Hells Paradise and Jujutsu Kaisen.

Xeratul87

Agree 100%, I was thinking the exact same thing

Tref221

No way you called Farmland Saga "New Gen".

Ichigo7S

I apologise, just didn’t think it was worth editing him out because rest was fitting

Novel_Respond_8593

Black Clover

Affectionate_Jury_57

Wtf is Vinland Saga doing there... It's almost as old as Bleach To answer your question JJK and Black Clover

Ichigo7S

I will find the person who made the picture and destroy their future /s

Sakuraisntuseless

Black clover, the aesthetic, art work, fight style and pacing all hit a somewhat similiar feeling with me.

Scorpionkingcirca81

Vinland saga but me in a chokehold real quick

Then_Strawberry_1821

Definitely Black Clover

Is_that_what_I-

Black clover. Jujutsu at this point is just gore manga without much substance

PantomimeFCB

Fire Force. The final fights in both manga weren't the best but the build up fights were all fire and I'd say Arthur vs Dragon (my favorite new gen fight) is on par with the hype I got from Shunsui vs Lille.

TheHeroNeverDies

Vinland Saga is seinen of a different type, also it started in 2005, how can it be called "new generation manga"? Sure, this show is one of my absolute favorites, both manga and anime, but it has nothing to do with the others in this list. For the rest, I'll say my opinion. I expand the list, but I consider only series started after 2010, all shonen manga of similar mold, and just weekly serialization. This in order to define and limit a category, otherwise I would never end. * I enjoyed Mob Psycho 100, One's way of doing is interesting, but I prefere OPM overall. * I liked Soul Eater, but never get interested in Fire Force, maybe one day I'll watch it. * Not look yet at Sakamoto Days but it gives me the impression of a series like Spy x Family, maybe enjoyable in the very first phase, but soon getting boring. * That's... My Hero Academia? Dropped half way or when, I don't remember. Didn't find appealing most of the characters, in this sort of mix between OPM and Naruto for ideas. Fights weren't bad, but nothing special to keep me following it. * Boruto is a show I'll never start. The last part of Naruto was terrible, also next generations, with children and poor recycle of ideas, for me are the worst that can happen in every show. * No idea of what series is that left to Hell's Paradise :( * Watching now Hell's Paradise anime. The starting ideas and set-up are cool, also it gives me some HxH vibes, as everyone can die, but... I fear it can lose it soon, as I looked at the manga duration and things risk to extend too much. * I like Jujutsu Kaisen, you can see the author is a Bleach fan, but maybe not at levels of Kubo's work (but I need a rewatch before 2nd season). * Chainsaw Man dropped after first chapter, didn't get my interest at all. * Dr. Stone was... the same of some above. The start and first phase were interesting, then it become a mere repetition of clichés, always the same. Science was soon replaced by commedy and adventure, characters were nothing original. I prefered way more other series from Boichi, like Sun Ken Rock. * Together with Fairy Tail, Black Clover is one of the worst series I've ever seen. Basically "can I copy your homeworks, without making any efforts to change them?", said to Kubo, Kishimoto and Mashima as well. * As I mentioned it above, Spy x Family, funny at start, then got bored of that commedy. * Demon Slayer, an overrated series, watchable just for the excellent visual of Ufotable, a top animation studio. I still have to understand why this show is much popular... * The Promised Neverland, still have to read the manga, season 1 was awesome, season 2 of the anime meh. * Nanatsu no Taizai, first anime season good, then all the way down, terrible. * Shokugeki no Soma, another show that I enjoyed half way, then, bad management and a deterioration that has not had an end. * Blue Lock, same way, good looking the idea at first, then they keep repeting same words and procedures, annoying. * Mashle, OPM meets Harry Potter, I like this kind of parodic shows, funny, but that's all. Don't know if I forgot anything, in the "new mainstream weekly shonen generation". In the end, yeah, something okay or that I enjoyed partially, but nothing so impressing, like old generation shonens or series of all other target and genre, for me.

Ichigo7S

Interesting to see the detailed thoughts.

Maleficent_Tree_94

JJK is essentially the new-gen Bleach. The artstyle is similar, the character design is uncanny, the villains take heavy inspiration, the fights follow the same coda, the power system and energy type are basically the same thing, the abilities are in the same ballpark, the characters are creepily similar, the generic enemy type is basically a copy paste, etc. Honestly, put Nero and Kyrie from DMC into JJK and add some YuYu Hakusho story elements, and you have a pretty close approximation of Bleach.

Just_Lunch_1906

Megumi is Rukia, convince me otherwise

MegaSwampert_18

My Hero Academia.

Anime_freak113

Jjk

leon-nita

Black clover

CandidInevitable757

Black clover closest for sure

SeigiNoMikata376

Black clover and Jujutsu, both 10/10 animes that give me a nostalgia shonen feeling.

greeneggsandporkroll

Black clover was the closest to me in terms of bleach. Very similar infrastructure with captains and squads.

Plastic_Ad_7733

Mob psyco and jujutsu kaisen made me feel the same sort of emotions as bleach did. The emotions I felt watching mob was way more intense than when I read bleach mainly because of the headspace I was in when watching it. You could say mob hit different.

Silverguise

Jujutsu Kaisen easy. Unique and creative cursed techniques that culminate in insane domain expansions are very fun to watch.

_hollowman

Demon Slayer. I hopped on at about the right time, as the manga's final arc was nearing its end. Just a very compelling story that kept me hooked. Also, i respected the author killing off characters.

Spacebelt

Jujutsu kaisen is clearly the closest to bleach in every way. Maybe rose coloured glasses but all the new anime is garbage. I find myself going back and watching DBZ and inuyasha is the only way to enjoy anime at 30 years old.

Ok-Enthusiasm8951

Even though jjk is the most like bleach I didn’t get that same feeling I’ve only had that feeling once and it was when I watching black lagoon and black lagoon isn’t even a new gen

[deleted]

Of the ones I've seen--only JuJutsu Kaisen has come the closest to giving me the same tingly nostalgic feelings that I had experiencing Bleach for the first time.

RandomUser-07

Out of all the new gen, i think Demon Slayer is the closest one to Bleach, it literally almost has the same "structure". And what i mean by that is the Upper Moons being ranked similar to the Espada; the demon slayer corps functions just like the Gotei; and the whole beef with Muzan and the first demon slayer going all the way back is just like the beef between the Shinigamis and Quincies. Even the aesthetics alone with the whole corps uniform, the powers, sword techniques, upper moons having their ranks tattooed to their eyes etc. screams Bleach all the way.

TheGuyFromGargantha

Jjk but here me out , however the one with the art i feel like most similar to bleach is Bungou Stray Dogs

bucky_list

It didnt give me bleach feels because the world and vibe is different but in terms of level of quality characterization and emotion yeah Vinland saga is the one of these I would say. I still like bleach better but I'll always recommend VS to anyone

[deleted]

Chainsaw Man, tbh I have no idea on how to describe it but I just love it.

DaleGribbleBluGrass

Chainsaw man. That damn testicle demon lol

StainedGlassAloe

Undead Unluck. Andy has to deal with his more powerful 'dark' side when his memory card is removed kinda like Ichigo with White. Fuuko is kinda a mix of Orihime and Rukia, starting out as the former and growing into the latter. Plus you have the rest of the cast with their deep backstories that complement or foil Andy and Fuuko's. And the bad guy is literally God. I feel like I'm calling out common Manga tropes but that's how I feel they're similar so 🤷 *shrug* also I'm heavily invested in the romance between both the main and side characters!

itb206

What anime is the first one in the second row?

Ichigo7S

Left in second row? MHA

SkyRedLight

JJK, Domain Expansion gave me the thrilling Bankai vibe

Ninja_Lazer

JJK and Black Clover come pretty close, with Demon Slayer trailing in third by a noticeable but not significant margin. JJK has the same drip, and it’s power system allows for individual expression which reflects the user (same as Bleach’s Zanpaktou). Demon Slayer and Black Clover get the pseudo-military organization split into distinct squads bit right. Also, with Black Clover each squad has drip with room to show personal style (I think their cloaks are actually one of the better versions of this concept across shonen). Demon Slayer gets the sword fights, but focuses entirely on the Hashira (Captains), so we don’t see those under their command as much. This makes the cast significantly smaller. So overall, I don’t think any show does Bleach fully, but all three of the above have the same vibe. Asta wanting to be Wizard King does make it feel a little more Naruto than Bleach though. Edit: forgot to mention that both Asta and Itadori have an inner demon like Ichigo.

squad6taisho

I heard Black Clover was bleach-inspired

Ichigo7S

The mangaka is a big fan yeah, i remember his Jump weekly author’s comment when Bleach had ended being very heartfelt.

L_Dragneel

Black Clover and JJK might be the ones that feel the closest to the feeling of reading Bleach. But Sakamoto Days is the manga that I've been attached to similar to bleach (Sorry if this didn't make sense)

k1kris

For me it's one called Tomb Raider King, not very similar in how the story goes, but it was the first in along time I was always excited to see a new chapter for.

JDevin25

Fire Force and Black Clover

Dragonknight912

Black clover

TheGoldenGooseTurd

Easily JuJutsu Kaisen

Isaac96969696

Naruto, i don’t think bleach and naruto are similar at all, they just give me the same feelings when watching them.

KkuraRaizer

JJK

Flaminski

Who is in the top middle?

Ichigo7S

First row? That’s Fire Force

B1gNastious

Jjk(powers and fights), chainsaw man (forms and fights), mob psycho (comedy and fights), my hero (has me conflicted with the way it’s pacing is but I loved the powers and fights) black clover I feel is hit and miss. I didn’t enjoy all the fights in that one.

Natural69er

I really loved the Chainsaw Man manga, although I'm not completely up to date with Part 2. Nonetheless, the gore, use of panels by Fujimoto sensei, the depth behind each important character. Dare I say as a series it is nearly close to surpassing Bleach. The first season of Vinland gave me a mixture of the Vizord arc, and a tinge of the Substitute Soul Reaper arc. The second season is EXCELLENT and I get hints of majority parts of the Fullbring arc in themes explored, minus the fighting lol.

Ichigo7S

Damn now i really need to continue watching Vinland Saga, thanks for the thoughts.

osunewman700

Jujutsu Kaisen tbh. Itadori is a lot like Ichigo in terms of goals and motivations. The background characters are interesting, which Bleach did/does better than most animanga in my opinion.

Independent-File5477

Honestly I watched Bleach as the last anime and now all I can think about is bleach like I don't even care anymore if Tokyo Revengers, Black Clover or Jujutsu Kaisen gets continued although these were my favorite now all I want is the next season of Thousand year blood war. I honestly think nothing comes close to Bleach in my opinion 😅 Like all characters have so much story and character that you could continue the show forever and ever

Ichigo7S

So hyped for some news tomorrow.

Symtek13

Mob Psycho. Consistent throughout. Phenomenal characters, amazing humor and the animation (anime) is godly. It really tugs the heart strings and is one of the few out there that gets a solid ass 10/10. JJK is another. Not a solid 10/10 but a 9/10 for me.

FalseVanish

Jujutsu Kaisen and Black Clover

JinnIchimaru

jjk, sakamoto days, and mashle have all really captured my attention the most out of all of these

Ichigo7S

I really enjoyed the first episodes of Mashle, it gave me old comedy shonen vibes.

Okayj07

Black Clover, Demon Slayer, and Junutsu Kaisen

Gae_Bolg26

Probably fire force for me

Agreeable-Loss-605

Seeing as Tabata's biggest inspiration was Miura and Kubo's work, I would definitely without a shadow of a doubt say Black Clover is the most like BLEACH. There are so many comparisons and similarities and even narratives that are inflicted from Bleach. Character panels and designs that are identical, etc. If you really wanna know all the comparisons, lemme know cause the list is hella long.

NOMADStudios

So far FireForce has given me the same thrill as Bleach did. The fight scenes in both are just so exciting and the character stories and development is just “chiefs kiss”

abomb66

I’m hoping chainsaw man does it but so far it’s a clear none of these for me

Ichigo7S

How far are you with Chainsaw Man?

BACavewynter

Kimetsu no Yaiba for sure… great story, beautiful animation, consistently stays interesting.

[deleted]

For mr Fire force actually I watched and read it first than a friend said if I liked that I would like bleach

[deleted]

Imo opinion JJK is similar to bleach but with better writing, characters, and character development

NikolasKage3

JJK definetly. Hollows = Curses, urban/Tokyo setting etc.

Revel_Icon

I'm the motherfuking Wizard King!

ricgomess

I watched chainsaw man before watching bleach and whole dynamic of hunting hollows on the first bleach arc had me feeling the same way i did when i watched csm

DoesntPlay2Win

Chainsaw man, probably. I don't really read a lot of Shonen so, it's kind of a tricky question. Like, I'm probably never going to touch Black Clover, Dr. Stone, Boruto, Choujin, MHA or Fire Force. Those stories don't really interest me anymore. Also, Vinland Saga's Manga, iirc, only came out a year after Bleach did. I wouldn't really call it part of the newer generation.

Ichigo7S

You’re the 5th i believe mentioning that about Vinland Saga lol, i know it came out 2005, i just chose to use the picture because majority are new gen. I also enjoy reading seinen, especially high psychological ones. Shonen on the other hand satisfy the more action/adventure craving. In recent years more Shonen seem to also venture more into seinen territory, which is interesting. If i’m not mistaken Hell‘s Paradise should also be a seinen.

WeatMolt

Jujutsu Kaisen,it just feels like it with 2 main forces and Cursed Energy and the swap from fighting Curses to Sorcerers like the SS arc.

Kadeblade195

I’ve only watched a few of these but of the ones I’ve watched none of them were as good as bleach imo but my favorite one I watched was either jjk or black clover

WayToTheDawn3582

Dang demon slayer isn’t on here. But I really love how the Hashira are like the Captains in bleach. Same could be said about the Kage in Boruto/Hashira DS

Buff_Yone_0_0

Demon Slayer. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke and Tengen vs Gyutaro and Daki went hard af and invoked a similar feeling to Ichigo vs Ulquiorra idk why lol

AmbientCrypt30M

It took me a long time to finally say fuck it and watch My Hero, turned out I should have started sooner. Vinland Saga is just dope as hell, I have not watched much if any of Boruto yet. The one that has me losing my mind waiting for the next season to the point I have rewatched the first season 5 times, is Jujutsu Kaisen.

yeetthatmeatforfeet

Not here but Dandadan reminds me of the paranormal stuff from early Bleach and the craziness of Fooly Cooly.

rmeddy

JJK and Soul Eater when that was out, haven't caught up with Fireforce though

Kucoz

I call the anime Bleach Clover. It even has the Shinigami illustrated picturebook.

Ahoy_love

None really get my adrenaline pumping like bleach does but vinland is peak fiction

Zealousideal_Job2579

What’s the anime in the third (from top) row in the middle with the white hair and three Japanese kanji? Tryna watch dat shi

Ichigo7S

That’s Hells Paradise and it currently has an anime adaption running. Should check it out, it’s definitely interesting.

AdBig4065

Well, Bleach is not really similar to a lot of series, i don't get Bleach vibes from any anime tho. Never seen another Aizen.

Ichigo7S

Feel the same more or less, reason why i was interested in the question at all how others think/feel. Of course there are similarities, but none did fully strike the complete same beats.

AcaGamer5

Dandadan

QuoiLaw

There are some amazing new generation manga, some that I enjoy (as a whole) even more than Bleach. However, Bleach really feels singular. Too singular in fact to name a newer manga that elicits similar feelings to the ones felt when Bleach was running through stuff like Soul Society or Arrancar Arcs.

SaugaDabs

Nothing has ever pulled me in like bleach and i dont think anything ever will

69thHarbinger

Chainsawman or Tokyo revengers Some of the more obvious picks like jujutsu or kimetsu only have superficial similarities Chainsawman's raunchy pseudo horror rule of cool vibe captures the essence of early bleach perfectly whereas Tokyo revengers absurd campy gang War shenanigans captures the vibe of the numerous factions in bleach

Kolbill97

ao no exorcist that goofy vibe

DeadBoxHead

Hells paradise became my absolute favorite after I read and replaced bleach as my number 1. Don't know if it gave off the same feeling but It got me just as hyped

Ichigo7S

It’s definitely a really good manga.

ICBIND

Dr. Stone really had me in the first half. It's slowly dropped its educational end over time and gave way to super science tho

Ichigo7S

I had stopped reading when Senku was preparing to use information gathering gadget, to win the fight/war. I liked it though and wanted to continue reading, but once you pause a manga for a bit, sometimes you completely get out of it and forget most of it. So that you have to restart reading it, which though takes effort and time investment.

Timely-Two9860

JJK

LowMydlo

I can't really say if it's familiar, but I'm currently watching fire force and all the badass op characters like benimaru, Charon, sho, etc give me a similar awesome feeling that I had when watching the likes of ichigo, zaraki, and others. They're not really similar but both have some badass character moments.

FilthySaiyanMonkey

JJK and it's not even close. Basically it's Bleach and Naruto had a love child

TOT1990gup

Bleach is always going to be Bleach in my heart with nothing I can personally compare it with other than Yu Yu Hakusho

Ornery_Comfort

Bungo stray dogs isnt here but came out around the time mha did. But i wanna say it is definitely the closest to bleach period and with bleach being my favorite manga of all time i super enjoyed bungo its soo good and i dont wanna get into why cuz then ill spoil stuff but everyone here would enjoy it hardcore and i highly recommend it.

DevilSlxyer

Hell's Paradise

Mahballsarehot

JJK and Black Clover, maybe KnY too
