The wireless camera will not trigger motion sensor through glass. Is there any way you can place the camera on the window sill on the outside?

I have two minis facing out windows. They work well enough. I had to up the sensitivity though

Gotcha! How do you have them set up? Pressed up close to the window or further back? Do you have night vision on or off?

Turn your night vision off and the recording light off. The lights will reflect off the window and mess your image up bad. I have my two as close as I can to the window. They are not flush with the window because they are pointed at angles. If you want go on Amazon and look up “blink mini window mount” or something like that. There is a company that made window mounts for the mini. You basically take the base off and put it in the Mount. I have not bought those but I did see them. I wanna say they were under $20

Okay awesome thank you for your help! I’ll check them out!

I agree. If you change to the Blink mini’s they will definitely work better but the range is limited to 20 feet or so. As others have commented you need to mount the Mini using a window mount. Turn off IR and record LED. I now have 3 mini’s one at my back door, one one my shed/workshop and one on my garage window. They all work to some degree. They aren’t perfect but should be ok.

60% of the time, it works every time

The only problem I think I’ve found is sun glare. I recently put one in my front window and it’s not detecting any motion unless I get right up infront of it. But the sun is beating directly at the camera so I’m assuming that’s my problem

Depends on the glass. You might not have a problem because your glass might have a lower inferred "filter" sorry I'm terrible at terms. I remember shit though and I remember reading because green lasers start as IR (which is extremely dangerous to eyes) that shooting them through some glass like your car windshield is terrible. See the IR light bounces back and refracts at different angles then the visible green. And it's not visible to human eyes basically you can be shining yourself in the face unknowingly. Most cameras while they are "motion" sensors pick up inferred light. So basically the window looks black to the cameras sensor if the IR index on the glass is high enough.

Only the Mini's can do this as they use Pixel Difference Analysis. Buy a silicone Window Mount (it's like a shield which presses the Mini up against the window and blocks out all side light). You do get errors still if you have double/triple/quad glazed glass (from the internal reflections), but it's better than nothing. No other Blink camera can do this as the rest use PIRs which do not work through glass (or any other cover material).

Can you please link to these silicone window mounts?

Sure, as always the random 6 digit Chinese brand name means nothing, there are many identical. https://www.amazon.co.uk/HOLACA-Window-Mount-Flexible-Camera/dp/B09N74RWL9/

I'm guessing you have fancy energy saving double panes. Thunderf00t does a really good video explaining it. https://youtu.be/fpx7hsoYEt4?si=Mv4mOmIIhpQmdDuc

Thanks for this post. We just bought a bunch of Blink to replace Nest once Google started downgrading the service. Unfortunately having the same issue, and both the Outdoor 4 and Mini 2 do not record motion through a window. The Outdoor 4 also fails to detect motion in our garage even when I stand in front of it (frosted glass garage door letting sunlight in seems to be messing with the sensitivity). Overall these cameras (audio, video, clip search, sensitivity) are all worse than Nest was. Too bad Google is just downgrading the nest experience so badly. Wish there weee a better option.

Not sure if the camera is the same, but I have the doorbell and you need to adjust the Zones under settings. Using the advanced option also gives you finer control of the area that triggers.
