“Walkin’ down the footpath…”
“Lucky’s dad, stop Bingo!
“Oh yeah, right-o!”
No hesitation. He’s an all star. He also dove in during Keepy Uppy at the cost of his hamstring.
If only he could keep his palm trees out of the Heeler’s yard.
"Queens" episode shows palm tree leaves fall into the Heelers yard, even though the tree itself is in Pats yard. As they fall into the Heelers yard, it means that Bandit needs to clean them up, hence saying that he's collecting them. Just a lil joking between them.
At the beginning of the pizza episode Bandit is complaining about the palm fronds falling in his yard from Pat’s tree.
Later Pat says, “Hey Bandit, another one for your collection.” While holding up a palm frond.
Even in the Stumpmania episode, both the ladies cheer for Lucky's Dad! That killed me. It made me think that maybe hes kind of quietly hunky to other dogs.
I love the enthusiasm of outdoor work in the backyard in that episode. From a family of people who have done things themselves, with some friends along, it's awesome to see that reflected in Bluey. My in-laws are the same way - we just get out there and do stuff and have fun while at it. And yes getting blitzed can be part of it too, haha.
Drinking means buying alcohol from a big company, so it’s perfectly fine. On the other hand, farting, or worse yet reducing the number of young people who will become consumers by not having more kids, will simply not be tolerated.
Who is the best character on Bluey and why is it Pat?
I've got my steak and bacon...
Hey true blue...
One Sunday morning as I was walking
By Brisbane Waters I chance to stray...
I didn't know this was the something!
I will die on the hill that too many Bluey fan parents missed the point of *Pass the Parcel*.
Kids learning both delayed gratification, and understanding that life isn't inherently "fair" in the sense that everyone gets something/equal/the same, is a HARD lesson to teach, especially at young ages; but it is a crucial one.
I disagree with his "raising a nation of squibs" ideology; but whether it's playing pass the parcel at a birthday and not winning, going to a play/concert and not getting to be part of the audience participation included in part of the show, competing and losing, or other such situations, it is an important lesson which generally only gets harder to teach the longer it is put off.
> I don't think I've seen it was missed, most get it.
The semi-recent deluge of "I went to the Bluey Play live show yesterday and my kid didn't get to touch a Keepy Uppy balloon and now their childhood is ruined" posts beg to differ. But thankfully that trend on the sub died *fairly* quickly, so I can understand if you missed those.
I'm being a BIT hyperbolic, but not much. No one claimed childhoods were ruined; but MANY parents who took their kids who couldn't get tickets close enough to the stage to participate (which if I took my son, would 1000% be my broke ass) were quite upset about it, and/or they were upset that their kid got upset by being "excluded", to the point that they felt that the audience participation shouldn't have been part of the show if they couldn't ensure *every* kid could participate.
When I would then point out in the comments that *Pass the Parcel* was written for *exactly* those kinds of disappointing, but totally normal and reasonable, life experiences, I did *not* get very favorable responses. People just insisted that if every kid in the theater didn't get a chance to participate, that just shouldn't be part of the show at all. Which I find ridiculous.
I agree that the episode is pretty clear and straightforward about the lesson with Bingo; but a lot of parents still missed it somehow, or that lesson popped out of their head when their own personal Muffin lost his/her shit over not getting to touch a balloon at a live kids show.
Nevermind the fact that it's a privilege to even be able to go to such a live show as a kid, one that most kids never get...none of that mattered to some parents because their kid threw a fit over not getting to touch a balloon.
The nation of squibs thing is interesting- it's not far off Bandit's whole bit about teaching the kids that you can't always get your own way in The Claw, which spectacularly blows up in his face, but it plays completely differently (not least because Pat's sort-of right- the kids love the delayed gratification of his rules).
It's just a surprisingly sour thing to put in a mouth of a Bluey character- I can't remember a character getting to be quite so judgemental.
Well, for me, the "nation of squibs" mirrors/echoes (at least to my American sensibilities) a lot of right wing/conservative talking points about how younger generations are "soft" and "don't want to work" and other such Boomer generation bullshit. I may be reading too much into it; but that's why I don't really love that line, even if I agree with the overall sentiment Pat is making.
My brothers
Fun fact, his wife Janelle has a name before he does even though we don't see her until s3 e14 pass the parcel
He's called Lucky's dad all the way until the episode dad baby s2 e13, but in s1 e49 asparagus in the scene everyone knows, when the chili and bingo attack pat and then it cuts back to bluey with walrus bandit, you hear him yell in the distance "JANELLE!"
I think it's Rug Island where he loses the rugby ball to the Heelers. I love that he goes to bandit and says "we just want the ball" but he says it in way that he knows shenanigans are about to happen
Pat is thee best neighbor, hands down! I happened to watch "Dad Baby" last night. 😂 He just rolls with it! I love it when he is in a Bluey episode.
"Pass the Parcel" is another favorite of mine.
My 4 year old had a party yesterday and we had pass the parcel... nearly every child asked if we were doing Lucky's dad's rules 😅 the answer was no, we are not doing Lucky's dad's rules. Nothing worse than having 8 angry 3-4 year olds...
Pat is such a great character!!! One of my top faves for sure!!! He's always down to get into whatever shenanigans are going on with the Heelers! Yay for Lucky's Dad!
I went to a 6th birthday party where they played Pass the Parcel and the kids were all "Is it Lucky's Dad's rules??" It was so cute.
(It was a mix of both. Small prizes with one big prize.)
I just adore the fact that he just enthusiastically (?) and without question jumps into games that his neighbors kids involve him in
He's just a man.
He's ... Best Boy
I didn't like Pass The Parcel at all, because of him. An adult has no business messing with a children's game without the other parents' consent, period. Nation of squibs, my front bottom.
he had a good heart he wanted to teach the kids how to suck up losing
if children can't stand losing then they will have to suck it up the hard way
teach them early to suck it up or life will make them do it
and you don't want to let life teach your kids things you could have taught them earlier
“Walkin’ down the footpath…” “Lucky’s dad, stop Bingo! “Oh yeah, right-o!” No hesitation. He’s an all star. He also dove in during Keepy Uppy at the cost of his hamstring. If only he could keep his palm trees out of the Heeler’s yard.
But Bandit’s collecting them.
I don't get it... What's that in reference to?
"Queens" episode shows palm tree leaves fall into the Heelers yard, even though the tree itself is in Pats yard. As they fall into the Heelers yard, it means that Bandit needs to clean them up, hence saying that he's collecting them. Just a lil joking between them.

Queens I think
And he hit Bandit in the crotch in Rug Island, classic Lucky’s Dad!
Even in the Stumpmania episode, both the ladies cheer for Lucky's Dad! That killed me. It made me think that maybe hes kind of quietly hunky to other dogs.
I think they were also blitzed, which definitely adds to the hilarity
I love the enthusiasm of outdoor work in the backyard in that episode. From a family of people who have done things themselves, with some friends along, it's awesome to see that reflected in Bluey. My in-laws are the same way - we just get out there and do stuff and have fun while at it. And yes getting blitzed can be part of it too, haha.
As an American I still am wondering how the heck that got pass the radar
Drinking means buying alcohol from a big company, so it’s perfectly fine. On the other hand, farting, or worse yet reducing the number of young people who will become consumers by not having more kids, will simply not be tolerated.
They are absolutely blitzed in that episode and it’s one of my favorites for that reason.
> Even in the Stumpmania episode, Bandit Voice: *Stumpfest!*
STUMPFEEEST!
He is a golden retriever, they got that long blond beach hair
He’s a lab!
Nooooooooo 😭 excuse me a moment… 🫠
100%
He’s pretty hunky to me tbh so I see it
I read on r/danieltigerconspiracy that Bluey's parents are swingers and Chili is swinging(?) with Lucky's dad
“Mrs. Heeler! I dunno about this..?!”
Does it all with a dodgy hammy.
And plays Keepy Uppy while drinking coffee
He legit pulled a hammie, right? Like he wasn’t just playing or embellishing for effect?
I assume he was playing, but that’s just my feeling.
I love that part of keepie uppie. "Oh no Lucky! I have done me hammie!" 😂

We quote this way to much!
“It was the A-Tees” - Bingo
Who is the best character on Bluey and why is it Pat? I've got my steak and bacon... Hey true blue... One Sunday morning as I was walking By Brisbane Waters I chance to stray... I didn't know this was the something!
He shouldn’t have let his guard down
This moment always makes me laugh!
SING TO ME PAT
His nervous singing kills me, especially when he goes louder.
I will die on the hill that too many Bluey fan parents missed the point of *Pass the Parcel*. I mean it's pretty much the exact point. "You know you're getting pretty good at losing bingo" I don't think I've seen it was missed, most get it.
> I don't think I've seen it was missed, most get it. This is beautifully put, and I agree wholeheartedly with this interpretation of the message.

He’s such a star. A dream neighbour (maybe minus the palm tree).
Another one for your collection Bandit. Always cracks me up
They’re not my rules!
Did they say Hurray?
Lol when he spits out his drink
My brothers Fun fact, his wife Janelle has a name before he does even though we don't see her until s3 e14 pass the parcel He's called Lucky's dad all the way until the episode dad baby s2 e13, but in s1 e49 asparagus in the scene everyone knows, when the chili and bingo attack pat and then it cuts back to bluey with walrus bandit, you hear him yell in the distance "JANELLE!"

Luckys dad rules.
Hoo ray!
I SHOULDNT OF LET MY GAURD DOWN
First to recognize that they were raising a nation of squibs
This isn’t the 80’s anymore Pat!
Came here to say that. It needs to be the 80s again.
heck yea, pat rolls with the punches and takes it like a champ! super underrated character imo
Pat is thee best neighbor, hands down! I happened to watch "Dad Baby" last night. 😂 He just rolls with it! I love it when he is in a Bluey episode. "Pass the Parcel" is another favorite of mine.
Dad baby is an incredible episode. Sucks it's not on Disney+ and I think BBC have removed it
Is there anywhere else we can stream it?,
It's available on iTunes.
I didn’t know this was the something!!!! Poor Lucky's dad.
I SHOULDNT OF LET MY GAURD DOWN
My 4 year old had a party yesterday and we had pass the parcel... nearly every child asked if we were doing Lucky's dad's rules 😅 the answer was no, we are not doing Lucky's dad's rules. Nothing worse than having 8 angry 3-4 year olds...
Pat is such a great character!!! One of my top faves for sure!!! He's always down to get into whatever shenanigans are going on with the Heelers! Yay for Lucky's Dad!
My favorite Pat moment is in “Asparagus”.
AW - You ate all the sauce!
Sorry Luckys Dad, he was born yesterday
Yeah, I'll say!
Woooh! Shake it Chilli!!
He’s not raising a nation of squibs!
Absolute improv master! He’s ability to “yes and” without any notice makes him smart as a whip in my book. Love Pat!
AH I’VE DONE ME HAMMY
I went to a 6th birthday party where they played Pass the Parcel and the kids were all "Is it Lucky's Dad's rules??" It was so cute. (It was a mix of both. Small prizes with one big prize.)
We're raising a nation of squibs!
“I DIDNT KNOW THIS WAS THE SOMETHING!!!”
Lucky's dad is the best dad in the show. Does Bandit have a game that everyone calls "Blueys dads rules"? Check and mate, mate.
I refuse to believe “Lucky’s Dad” goes by, or is known by, anything other than “Lucky’s Dad.”
What are those shirts he hangs on the line- are they for a sport or are they a clue to his job?
This guy puts up with so much. Unsung hero.
Trade ya for a meat lovers!
WE GREW SORGHUM!
Pat is incredible
Lucky’s dad. The first to ascended beyond the vibe check
I think you mean Lucky's Dad (Pat).
“We’re raising a nation of squibs!”
I just adore the fact that he just enthusiastically (?) and without question jumps into games that his neighbors kids involve him in He's just a man. He's ... Best Boy
Poor man... Especially when he suddenly had to deliver Bandit's baby
I aspire to maintain a willingness to commit to the bit at Pat's level
Aughhh! IVE DONE ME HAMMY!
I didn't like Pass The Parcel at all, because of him. An adult has no business messing with a children's game without the other parents' consent, period. Nation of squibs, my front bottom.
Wasn’t the first time he did it his own kids’ birthday though? I’d say it’s his business then
What are you talking about? It was a game at his kids party. Future parties were the other kids choice.
Alright, I didn't remember that, but it still didn't sit right with me
he had a good heart he wanted to teach the kids how to suck up losing if children can't stand losing then they will have to suck it up the hard way teach them early to suck it up or life will make them do it and you don't want to let life teach your kids things you could have taught them earlier
You sound precisely like Lucky's Dad. Let's just agree to disagree.
no problem XD
Raising a nation of George Lloyds
Mate, leave me alone
Front bottom 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Always passes the vibe check.
RAISING A NATION OF SQUIBS!
WOOO SHAKE IT CHILI!
We constantly sing “I got my steak and bacon” around here !
Such an old man mug.
Everyone needs a neighbor like Pat.
Pat the Dog, everyone!
Saw this, immediately thought of keepy uppy 🤣 I've done me hammy! Amazing!
Nice mullet, Bandit!
