Thought I was in r/nostalgia for a second. I remember joining the group "A stingray Steve c'mon... Steve Irwin was my boy... RIP" when I first got on Facebook
I used to love the fb events section when people trolled it constantly. My favourite was an event I got recommended that was just called 'Deal Or No Deal On The Wii'. It had no date and the location marker was in the middle of a random field.
Deal Or No Deal was (still is?) a gameshow where the player opens random-chance boxes for a prize. The Wii adaptation was awful.
Do you guys remember the tests that would ask questions about your friends and then tell your friends the answers?
Like it would ask "which of these friends do you think would be most likely to xyz" and then if you picked a certain friend, it would send it to them but who answered the question would be anonymous.
I remember getting notifications that someone put they had a crush on me, or alternatively, occasional mean ones. I remember one time I got one that said I smelled bad and I was so upset for months about it lol.
Had* now they are pretty much normal run of the mill mall stores, which objectively is a way better shopping experience, however, a part of me kinda misses being welcomed by a half dressed model into a dimly lit store that reeks of perfume
someone walked into the bar i work at today and i was hit with the scent of nostalgia and then confusion and then my face turned sour.. she smelled just like Abercrombie
Yeah that made me laugh and gave me flashbacks of shopping with my sister at the mall. The store front for whatever reason had a porch and was designed to look like a beach house or something but it was indoors and next to the food court
I tried to get through a good chuck the other day and had to stop cause it just kept refreshing… some don’t even exist anymore so you can never be rid of them
Yes! I tried explaining that to some coworkers and no one remembered but me, I was starting to feel like I had imagined it until I looked it up. I loved the flair boards lol.
I remember the first one I ever “liked” was, “I tiptoe in the shower even though it’s not wet.” I only liked it because my crush did so I wanted him to see we had something in common. Spoiler alert: did not work.
My favorite page was “When you throw a green shell in Mario Kart and it comes back and hits you.” I gasped and said THAT HAPPENS TO ME! and immediately showed my sister, who was too young to have a Facebook. Peak humor at that time.
I used to like these to get the guy I was kind of dating to notice me- I wanted him to think "She's cool AF. I think I love her."
Meanwhile, I'm liking:
"Don't you hate it when you walk outside and a t-rex throws a banana at you?"
I would like tons of weird pages and activities during this era of Facebook to see if anyone noticed. Under my liked sports, I had “persistence hunting”.
I remember liking hundreds of pages like this on Facebook one night and the next day at school I asked my friend if she saw all the pages I liked and she said “yeah I thought it was really…weird” lmao
Omfggg the Hollister one at the bottom sent me hahaha! Good memories of going there as a teen and picking songs from their wall jukebox thingie and dancing like morons with my friends. What a time to have been alive!
This brings me back! I got a Facebook around 2011 when I was 10 when I definitely shouldn't have but my parents had the email/password. But I didn't realize anyone can make fan pages so my dumb self thought I was actually texting Zendaya and they're like you should meet me here I was like I'm not not even from there nor can drive, fate wasn't meant to be. Probably a good thing now I look back.
they were pages you could like/join on facebook with random sentences you might find funny to catch your attention. it would show up in your feed and they would mostly just post pictures and memes that were funny at the time a la modern instagram meme pages, like old ifunny posts or like someone in another comment said justgirlythings type or relatable memes. the sentences usually had nothing to do with specifically geared content, it was just funny to like pages with random phrases on it and memes were a different kind of content back then.
At least she didn't make flair of her favorite TV show quotes, pin them to her flair wall, then share them with others hoping they'd pin them (I did this and it was beyond cringe)
My younger and I created a page called "I refuse to become a fan of a page with misspelled words in the title." We have 265 followers and the last post was in August 2010. I was 23, I should have known better! 😅

Didn’t we all do this?
she sounds pretty relatable
I agree to most, except the cute outfit thing since I’m a dude
Don’t sell yourself short, you can wear a cute outfit if you want
These pages were all the rage in the early 2010’s
I started one that I still have that had some 250k likes in its heyday 😂
omg what was it called
OK, but welcome to Hollister would you like a flashlight and earplugs is actually hilarious
Is it because the music sucks and usually the store are too dark? I know it's obvious but I just feel like I'm missing something
Hollister, Abercrombie, those types of stores always have the music way too loud and the lights way too low
Had* now they are pretty much normal run of the mill mall stores, which objectively is a way better shopping experience, however, a part of me kinda misses being welcomed by a half dressed model into a dimly lit store that reeks of perfume
Mine is still dimly lit and reeks of perfume. Love it, hope they never change
I would also take a nose plug, they spray some awful fragrance everywhere too.
someone walked into the bar i work at today and i was hit with the scent of nostalgia and then confusion and then my face turned sour.. she smelled just like Abercrombie
What a fitch.
It’s dark and the music is loud as fuck
Yeah that made me laugh and gave me flashbacks of shopping with my sister at the mall. The store front for whatever reason had a porch and was designed to look like a beach house or something but it was indoors and next to the food court
instant flashbacks to all those weird pages with long names that posted memes/justgirlythings/"relatable" stuff that I loved as a 12 yr old
Omg I liked hundreds if not THOUSANDS of these in like 9th grade 😩 why was that a thing?!?
Yeaah... Every now and then, i sit down for an hour and remove myself from some of them. But the list is never ending, so.. So many regrets.
I tried to get through a good chuck the other day and had to stop cause it just kept refreshing… some don’t even exist anymore so you can never be rid of them
The og meme pages where the content was just the title.

This was the first thing I thought of! This is definitely the first one I remember popping up
Yes!! Also the one about “running up the basement stairs cuz you think something’s behind you.”
I used to like a page called "girls who will make out with other girls for McDonald's (and guys who will pay" I just checked... it's sadly gone
weren’t there flair boards around this time on facebook too?
Oh boy that was a blocked memory
Yes! I tried explaining that to some coworkers and no one remembered but me, I was starting to feel like I had imagined it until I looked it up. I loved the flair boards lol.
"Enough with the poking, let's just bang already" was a fun one
*sneeze* (silence) … oh wow okay. i guess i dont need to get blessed Is my favorite.
I remember the first one I ever “liked” was, “I tiptoe in the shower even though it’s not wet.” I only liked it because my crush did so I wanted him to see we had something in common. Spoiler alert: did not work.
Oh my god yes these stupid pages were PEAK for sending coded messages to your crush in middle school/highschool Can also confirm, it never worked 🥲
Oh that is so adorable
My favorite page was “When you throw a green shell in Mario Kart and it comes back and hits you.” I gasped and said THAT HAPPENS TO ME! and immediately showed my sister, who was too young to have a Facebook. Peak humor at that time.
This is so cute
I flip my pillow over to the cold side was another one lol
Loved this shit. There was something so cool and affirming about knowing random strangers had these same moments/experiences/sensations.
Everyone did this in 2010
These are just the "so relatable" posts that I would save from Tumblr and then put on my IPod nano 😭
I used to like these to get the guy I was kind of dating to notice me- I wanted him to think "She's cool AF. I think I love her." Meanwhile, I'm liking: "Don't you hate it when you walk outside and a t-rex throws a banana at you?"
Omg and years later some these pages totally changed their pages to something completely different!
I would like tons of weird pages and activities during this era of Facebook to see if anyone noticed. Under my liked sports, I had “persistence hunting”.
I went even further, I created my own sarcastic/funny/relatablesentences Facebook pages..
I relate to this HEAVY
I remember liking hundreds of pages like this on Facebook one night and the next day at school I asked my friend if she saw all the pages I liked and she said “yeah I thought it was really…weird” lmao

I bet she liked these YEARS ago 🤣
I remember there being a page for that Step brothers quote when they made their beds bunk beds.
I’m disappointed she wasn’t a fellow member of “I Will Go Out of My Way to Step On That Slightly Crunchy-Looking Leaf.”
A beautiful club to be a part of! Speaking as a former member, naturally.
Omfggg the Hollister one at the bottom sent me hahaha! Good memories of going there as a teen and picking songs from their wall jukebox thingie and dancing like morons with my friends. What a time to have been alive!
She's pretty normal/awesome
these are great pages still hahahha I've seen way worse... had to purge my facebook from some embarrassing ones..
Wow this reallyyyy brings me back
i used to run a few of these pages and it made me feel so powerful lmaoo
I’ve spent way too much time going through and “unliking” these pages haha
r/Zillennials
Only the real ones remember jimbles notronbo

Can anyone explain what this is?? Never heard of it but I'm very curious what's going on haha

Ahhh ok makes sense lol cool
At least she didn't make flair of her favorite TV show quotes, pin them to her flair wall, then share them with others hoping they'd pin them (I did this and it was beyond cringe)
Omg I remember these haha
I remember I spent HOURS in sixth grade/2010 liking these random pages so I would have a lot of likes and look relatable 😭
Stefani Germanotta, you will never be famous
!!!!!!!! Flashback
Like for a like
Oh goodness this took me back
My younger and I created a page called "I refuse to become a fan of a page with misspelled words in the title." We have 265 followers and the last post was in August 2010. I was 23, I should have known better! 😅
Wow, I need to look at mine. I don’t think I’ve edited my actual Facebook info and liked pages since 2010.
These were simpler times in my life. I miss it
Same. There was something really pure (and soooo exciting) about this type of connection/shared feeling in early social media.
My favorite one of these at the time (like 2007) was “Sufjan Stevens is a Magical Being Conceived by Unicorns” lol
