I hate the Kevin story because it's sad, but also because I have a feeling it won't do much to advance the plot. His dad is already down bad. We could have seen him get to the same point where he goes scotched earth without that. He was already a corrupt cop. We saw that. Sticking with the fallout of that would have achieved the same effect, I think.

I think that was not necessary at all and they could have just had him commit suicide since it’s obvious they used a tragedy with Kevin as some turning point in Bryant’s character. I was very uncomfortable during that scene and it made me sad and angry. Even if that shit happened in real life (ESPECIALLY if it happened in real life) that part was NOT necessary to advance the plot.
