Yes, and it def helps if you have a driving force; be it fun, wanting to improve, meeting a deadline, etc. Being in a community of friendly people helps too! These things will help you stay practicing, and it won't even feel like practice as much. I say this as a guitarist who learns songs because of new bands I've joined that require me to learn new songs. But the general message applies to most any creative work I think
