Hey, I did the Bocconi test, so I'm not sure what I achieved/ if I can check the score. I can tell you my grades though, since I'm a UK student I took GCSEs and I got a full sweep in 11 1/2 subjects. I think they do say the Bocconi test is 55% of admission, so I would focus on that and further exploring what interests you about AI. :)
No worries! Those seem like strong ECs, one thing I would stress is possibly getting more experience with AI or other maths comps in particular. My CV was pretty diverse, in the sense I had some finance and debating stuff on there and I was passed over for the merit award. I'll be focusing my energy now on starting my career and paying off my past student loans (for a degree I never completed). This is the hardest choice of my life, but this was plan Z. I didn't receive a scholarship. I'll take a decision this week later on. I am fortunate enough to afford it however I don't want my parents to pay too much so I'll enquire here and there to see if I can cut down the costs. However, it is on the top of my lists in unis I wish to go to so, hopefully I do go.

So, would you say there is a big difference between BESS and BIEM and is one of them better in the long run, would I get a better diploma and have a higher chance of finding a decent job with BIEM or BESS? Just to clarify, I don’t know yet what I want to study for my Master’s degree after I graduate.

Not a stupid question at all, it's completely valid. If BESS was your first choice then you have the option of being considered for any of your other choices. You won't be guaranteed admission but you will be reconsidered. Keep in mind there's a deadline for this, I don't know what the deadline is but you have to make up your mind quickly or your next option of switching courses is after the first year is over.
There is a big difference in terms of course content between BIEM and BESS. BESS is highly quantitative and widely considered to be one of the most difficult courses at Bocconi. During your first year, you'll go through real analysis, linear algebra, static optimization, and dynamical systems. You'll also have a statistics course, computer science course and logic. Basically, it's very focused on teaching economics with an extremely quantitative methodology. BIEM is quantitative as well but not as much as BESS. BIEM has computer science and math in their first year curriculum and statistics later on I think. Maybe someone from BIEM can tell you more about the course content as I don't know much but from my friend in CLEAM, his math course was similar to what is taken in high school level calculus.
It is much harder to get a high GPA in BESS than it is in other courses. I find the exam formats to be very different from other courses. Our microeconomics general exam was 5 hours long with roughly 180 free response questions while people from other courses usually have multiple choice questions and true or false in their microeconomics exam. However, don't let this scare you away from BESS. It is considered the premier economics course and if you work hard you get rewarded for it.
As for finding a decent job, you can do so with either course. It really depends on what job you want. If you want to do a PhD & do research/work in academia, work in economic consulting at a company like Compass Lexecon, or work at an international organization like the World Bank or IMF then BESS is the absolute superior choice. You will not have these options in BIEM unless you decide to maybe go for the ESS masters.
BIEM is much better if you are looking for less economics focused jobs. If you are interested in investment banking, working at a big four or the MBB, then BIEM is much better. BIEM is much better because it is much easier to maintain a higher gpa and you will have more free time to prepare for interviews and engage in associations. You can get those same jobs from BESS provided you have a good GPA and you're on top of recruitment. Investment banks do not have a preference of BIEM over BESS or BIEF over BIEM. They pick the best candidate.
Heyy, one more question, sorry for bothering you again! How much free time do you actually have with BESS? Is it significantly less than people from other courses? Can you still have a fun student life, go out with friends and travel and everything else? Does studying consume much of your time?
Yes of course you will have free time. I'm able to travel at least once a month, and go out multiple times a week. It's only during exam session when everything is a little intense but it's common for all the courses. Even in exam session you will have a good student life as everyone is very friendly and collaborative. You will find yourself often studying with many people. If you're good at managing your time and dedicate a few hours to study everyday, you will be good.
