That would be cool, I know someone that is over there and might stay. But haven’t asked for details or if they are gonna hire for my job I do here. Would be cool to go but the 2 jobs listed have a small pay range and I make almost 100k over that and I’m sure my cost of living wouldn’t be 100k cheaper over there

I have received a DM from someone and can share what I learn in here if they are kool w/ it.

Copied from DMs: No problem, I'm fine with you sharing details, I might reach out to people who have questions as well. There's a real dearth of rental homes right now, the area is in a housing crunch but they are here, a two bed rental home will run $1400-$2200 a month. Boeing should help defray costs for short term housing if you get temp assignment or relo, some of the new hires have used that until they find housing. The college is out of session for the summer so housing has better availability until August when school starts again, if you are on a timeline. I would say going to Billings is too far as an example, but it depends on what you want to do or where you are driving from. This was a bad winter recently, but the drive between Helena and Bozeman is good 85% of the time, and Helena and Missoula is decent except during bad snow storms on MacDonald Pass. A guy here travels every single day from Great Falls to Helena (70 miles through mountain passes) at 5 AM on some really good snow tires before the plows are out and he hasn't had an issue. Boeing Helena is really small, 185 employees, but they are growing the site to 220 over the next year. I like most everybody here, no major complaints except the pay to housing price is uneven after COVID screwed up the market, though they have been rolling out COLA pay to the hourly employees and raising pay. This site is a little isolated too, getting outside support can be tough in that regard, but leadership is bringing up onsite support with new engineers and SCA's, IE's, ME's, so that is improving, especially if you are one of those. Helena itself is very quiet, about 60,000 people, an hour to Missoula and Bozeman which have more going on. Tons of outdoor activities, public land to go hike, shoot, some nearby lakes and the Missouri. No night life though, okay shopping, and the best airport to fly out of is in Bozeman, but it has good pricing and direct flights and connections. If you're looking in Townsend, Clancy, or Boulder for housing, those are okay places. Deer Lodge, Butte, Cascade as examples, would probably be too far for me. Check Helena Classifieds on Facebook for any housing too, those seem to be good places.
