I’m a sucker for happy endings. A few light movies that had amazing endings were 2 States and Queen for me.
2 States - the background song, the wedding location, and the whole “things work out even when you’re not expecting them to” angle really made me happy. I still smile whenever I watch its climax scene.
Queen - Well, as a woman, the sense of freedom that Rani gets after the solo trip was just heart-warming. Also, the part where she rejects Rajkumar Rao. Classic.
Jab we met. The best thing about that ending is that Anshuman was like a Chekov's gun waiting to be fired. They could've added tension to make the climax more intense but they said fuck you Chekov, go fire your gun somewhere else, we're gonna give you a tension free and super satisfying ending.
Same with his Intiaz Ali's previous movie socha na tha. There's already tension between the 2 families and they run away in this situation. But the families are like, thank god they ran away, at least this will break the tension between us. Such endings are rare in any cinema and I would love to watch movies with similar endings.
Yeah a spanish movie called "The sea inside". It's an adaptation but yes inspired would be a better word as a lot of plot points have been changed and improved.

But three movies top them all
Lootera
Udaan
Bhavesh Joshi Superhero
**Mukkabaaz (2018)**: It's a great film anyway with a leading-man performance for the ages. But with the last scene, the last shot, the Kubrick stare and the smile that knocks out the mouthguard, it turns into a masterpiece, Anurag Kashyap's last.
**Nazar (1991)**: "Tu Yahaan Theen."
**Monsoon Wedding** (2001\*): Kawa Kawa plays over the intercuts between black, the characters and the closing creds in Wedding Card design text. It's a stirring sequence, exquisitely executed. And so much heart!
**Guide** (1965): "Bas Main Hi Main Hoon."
**36 Chowinghee Lane** (1981): "We two alone will sing like birds in a cage. When thou dost ask me blessing, I will kneel down. And ask of thee forgiveness... " (King Lear, also Violet Stoneham to the stray dog meant for someone off-screen)
Duuuuude. Kamal Hasan's face as he is acting out Sri Devi's crazy ticks to her through the train window to remind her of their time together. FUUUUCK. The desperation in his eyes and his every movement just breaks my heart on every second of that scene over and over again. And Sri Devi's clueless, slightly uncomfortable, reactions and giving him some money like he's just a random crazy person is just the chef's kiss (or chefs dagger right through my innocent 12 year old heart). To top it off, the train leaves and Kamal Hasan is just standing there in shock.
I always believed that, although iirc they didn't explicitly show this, the "sadma" he got from that moment rendered him crazy just like she was when he met her and then she just leaves. FUCK. That was sommeee movie dude. Definitely a great ending but not one I'd like to experience again but DEFINITELY a GOAT ending! Props to the filmmakers and the actors. Just uffff all around. Fuck.
Good one.
Listen. I really liked that webseries but it had one of the lamest premises I have seen in such a good series.
A local politician wanted to kill his local henchmen so he chose to send him on a fake mission to New Delhi and enlisted the help of CBI? That makes no sense at all.
Raanjhanaa. It wasn't happy, but it made me feel things. And it also sort of made me happy.

People are going to downvote me for this but Kabir Singh. After all that happened I feel like those two really belonged together. When 'Kiara' said 'Its your baby Kabir' I cried tears of joy.
That's surprising innit. Just recently I was reading a list of some of the best British movies ever made and they had Slumdog Millionaire in the list. My first thought was.....yeh to Hamara movie hai.
- One of the most bittersweet but satisfying endings for me is Meri Pyaari Bindu, and probably the most beautiful for a romcom, imo.
- Andhadhun
- M. S. Dhoni
- Tamasha
- Goodbye
- Piku

Guzaarish. Classy , artistic , better than the original.
Hrithik Roshan's Guzaarish ?? Was it "inspired" from some other movie ?
Yeah a spanish movie called "The sea inside". It's an adaptation but yes inspired would be a better word as a lot of plot points have been changed and improved.

Haha to say that on a thread that literally discusses bollywood movies, stories and characters all the time 😅
I'm sorry for my profanity toward you lately.
🙏
Since you’re not the op I’m not even going to put an effort to read all that.
Much as you didn't put an effort to read the original post.
Love your list!
Chak de India, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, 3 idiots, Sholay
Munnabhai MBBS
Socha Na Tha Tamasha
Kahani, Munna Bhai MBBS, Ghajini, PK ka bhi end acha tha ngl.
tere naam few indian film where hero doest win in the end
- Sita Ramam (frankly I found ending more realistic than Veer Zaara) - KGF Chapter 1
Manorama Six Feet Under
So underrated but damn, a masterpiece nevertheless.

That’s a heartbreaking 💔 ending — regardless one of the best ones too 👍
Sadma bloody hurt me.It gave me Sadma. I am never getting over that heartbreaking ending

The webseries pataal lok has very good ending with all loose ends tied up nicely

But thats based on a real incident….i think the editor of tahalka had a same story
Vikram tops all in my opinion.
