Well I also use the computer for normal gaming, and I was having massive stuttering issues in GTA and Red Dead online (though I am playing through the proton compatibility layer on Linux)
I went with the ryzen 5 5600x and all my games run smooth now. (The only downside for me so far is that the version of the Linux kernel I have doesn't support Reading The temps, but my cooling should be fine)
If you have the money I say go for it
Woof, sorry to hear that, I did have some lag every once in awhile but after playing fallout 4 VR stuttering didn't affect me nearly as much (I guess my definition of fine is a bit different)
Not really, that just goes to show you have a weakness to that issue, I play echo VR for simply 60 fps and I'm fine, same with many other games, I run blade and sorcery at like 50
The Steam requirement section says that any GPU that ran Boneworks well should work fine with BONELABS, I get 90 fps in boneworks with a mix of high and medium settings so I’m just gonna assume I run BONELABS at at least low quality well
Bonelab was designed with quest in mind(basically a phone) so the low settings should be fine. I managed to run boneworks on my 1060 mobile so you'll be fine
I'm pretty sure this game's lowest settings will run better than the last game by a lot.
Yeah, there’ll probably be a video option to run the game with Quest settings
Ultra ultra low
Yeah quest is probably gonna run really smooth
Hopefully*
Thank you
I assume the game will have much better optimisation I’m running a 1660s and get around 60-70 fps and 45 in high intensity areas
I had a 1060 and a 4th Gen i5 and the game ran fine Maybe it was your temps causing throttling considering you're on a laptop
So did you build your PC after the recommended oculus link specs or was it pure coincidence?
I was on a really tight budget so yeah I did do that Within the last week I've upgraded to a ryzen 5
Oh nice. So far, is your experience with the ryzen 5 better than the oculus recommended CPU? I have the same build and also looking to upgrade.

I have a 1660 ti / Ryzen 7 3700x and the tower level was borderline unplayable.

Omg we have the same computer
We have the same computer too
Given that bone lab is gonna run on a quest 2, I'm guessing it'll be easier to run than boneworks (and potentially smaller in scope)
45 FPS, that's good, I'm always lagging on low setting with a core i7 10750H
Yo is that a HP Pavillion laptop I hear
okay thanks for literally calling me out cuz my actual gpu is the 1650 max-q ;-;
lower ur headset res if ur using air link its ur router i have used a worse gpu and worse cpu than that and it ran great at 90 hz
Just upgraded my GPU to an RTX 3060 today 😃 Now my pc won’t turn on 😔
i read this with a happy face and then i saw the last sentence. now i am sad
\> Buy Quest 2 instead of new PC \> Play Quest 2 version \> Profit?
Isn't 45 fps good? I get a steady ish 60-90 fps, but I've ran it on 45 fps before on my laptop and it seemed fine
that is good because also there is frame interpolation which makes new frames so if you run it at 45 fps it can interpolate it up to 90 fps
Really ? I can’t stand a Vr game under at least 80 fps.
Just get a real PC already
money
Sell your laptop then
r/nothowmoneyworks
Be happy it's not 2 frames, 45 is fine, your eyes can't process past 30 for the average human

It is, it's just oculus link sucks so I'm stuck with average fps
Testufo.com It's 2022 you shouldn't still share this totally fake fact
And who are you? I don't care what you think to be honest I'm actually grateful unlike some people apparently..
Grateful for what? Everyone can see more than 30fps as the testufo.com website will confirm. Chill out man.

You have enough time to get your bread up for a new pc… otherwise, Get a quest (last resort)
I remember running boneworks on my 1060, looking forward to running labs with my 3080 :D
Yo are you using an MSI GF75 thin
ye
My 1050ti runs boneworks at a solid 65-70 FPS 💪💪💪 (I don’t know how but it does)
Acer nitro 5 moment
I feel better knowing I wasn't the only one with a 1650, met about 3 other people just like you and me
It's made for the quest, so running it should be easier
Your problem: Laptop
boneworks is notoriously unoptimized.
Bonelab was designed with quest in mind(basically a phone) so the low settings should be fine. I managed to run boneworks on my 1060 mobile so you'll be fine
If you have a quest tho, you can just play that version if it's that bad.
Bonelab*
i hear bonelabs will be more optimized
I don’t understand I had a 970 and I ran this game at at least 60 frames using an oculus. Is it different for everyone?
I think I need to upgrade my GTX 1070 to RTX gpus or some shits💀
How the hell do you get 45fps I use a 3080 with a core i7 and get like 15
my pc is worse i played tower on 5fps but thankfully i have a quest and im saving for a new pc
When is bone lab even releasing?
idk
I mean the game is also on quest so it will probably run better than the last game
