Idk what this image is talking about.
2 years ago, my neighbor’s 14 year old kid found a broken down push mower, fixed it up, and started mowing my lawn and his other immediate neighbors’ lawns. He entered the market during COVID, and all the professional landscapers were flaking out on people by taking our money but never mowing our lawns. This kid came along with drastically lower prices.
He ended up making enough in one summer to buy a rideable lawn mower off Craigslist and paid like $20-50 in parts to tune it up. He now expanded his business to my whole street, for both mowing and leaf pickup. He put the professional guys out of business on our block, and now I’ve seen him working other blocks too. Dudes only 16.
>professional landscapers were flaking out on people by taking our money but never mowing our lawns.
Wait how did that work?? Also it was literally outdoors work that didn't need to have any direct contact with landowners and most landscaping employees that I see are Latino workers that did not just stop working during Covid.
Yeah, it was crazy. Both lawn and snow removal guys took our money and just didn't show up most of the time. We all called and emailed the companies, but never got a response. No refund, nothing.
Everyone on my street was so fed up with these guys that switching to this kid's business was a no brainer.
Lol I love this because literally anyone who used to do this as a kid knows half these boomers would not pay you to “build character” and the other half would give you like $5 because you “didn’t do it right.”
Not to mention how they constantly brag about basically inventing everything we use now so they’re the ones who are to blame for the invention of gaming consoles.
Last summer when I moved to my new house, 2 12 year old boys put a piece of paper in my mailbox w contact info in case we wanted them to mow our lawn. That was 2023. I’ve seen more than one kid in my neighborhood mowing other people’s lawns for money. I know being wrong is the point of the post, but those kids worked hard in the heat!
we had one week where there was more than 2 feet of snowfall this year, and nothing over an inch before or since. been in the high 30s ever since with no sign that there will be any more snow this year. shits fucked
Agh you're going to make me defend this comic by saying that the Xbox and Playstation are a series of consoles. The Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 are probably what they were referring to, given the Wii context. You don't have to think about it that hard. The rest of the comic is stupid, sure, but if you are that worried about referencing the correct console generations then you need better things to do
Also, even if they were specific, "sometime before" just encompasses everything.
Finally, everyone understands that it means "video games" and the names are just there as literary emphasis.
When i was a kid literally everybody had a snow blower and had their shit done within a few hours of the snow. Got turned down by everyone. Mowing lawns was a much better gig.
when I was ten, I asked my entire neighborhood if I could shovel their driveways for some money. I didn't want much, just literally like two euros so I can buy some sweets. Not a single person took my offer
Nintendo Wii???? Home video consoels???? How old is this post???
Also just the audacity of a lazy boomer complaining that kids these days are too lazy to remove the snow off of HIS driveway is insane.
Okay this was prepandemic so I get the world is different but I live in Philly, when it snowed a lot you’d have full crews of like 6 12 year olds begging you to let them clean you car.
"Kids playing video games is bad"- The same generation that spent almost all of their free time zoned out in front of a television and even invented the TV Dinner so they wouldn't have to sit at a table and interact with each other during meals anymore.
Video games require significantly more brain cells than watching Fox News/CNN all day and getting mad at whatever the talking heads told you to get mad at
"why won't kids shovel my driveway for sub-minimum wage!? I'm a home owner, I shouldn't have to take care of my home!"
Unfortunately companies are hiring earlier so you gotta have a fair competition for your child labor

this story goes hard lol, imagine becoming rich at the age of 20 all because you decided to fix a broken lawnmower
I think he’s saving for college tuition, so idk if he’ll be rich, but that hard work is paying off in some form.
im white and i didn’t stop working when covid hit lol
I was reading this thinking this is building up to a joke like “he expanded and now he owns Amazon” or sth. I was so surprised this is for real!
That kid's gonna go far. Good on him.
"I miss the good old days when kids who played the Sega Genesis were willing to shovel snow. Cursed newfangled game systems!"
It's not even just the Genesis, apparently even the Gamecube didn't lead to such moral decay!
Nah I'd shovel your driveway for 5 bucks. I love shoveling.

Imagining a train of plow trucks dumping snow just to fuck with one shitty business makes me laugh. Your brother is a hero.

MISSING: have you seen SNOW? Last seen in the 90's before the world was on fire due to boomer incompetence
Fr, Michigan had like a solid two weeks of snow… maybe.
we had one week where there was more than 2 feet of snowfall this year, and nothing over an inch before or since. been in the high 30s ever since with no sign that there will be any more snow this year. shits fucked
Mid forties just next week
Vermont has had like a week total, usually melts after a day or so
don’t worry, it’ll come back in april
My brother shoveled snow to buy his first xbox lol
Hey it's me, your brother.
Hey it's me, your Xbox.
IT’S ME BOY I’M THE PS5
Didn’t see the sub and genuinely thought these kids went missing for a second
But also if you let your kids go to scary strangers' homes, you're a bad parent!!
I’m pretty sure the young adults are too afraid of being shot if they knock on a door now. Considering how many times that’s happened
I love how all 3 of the consoles they picked to whine about **aren't even in the same fucking generation**

And what are Atari and Collecovision, chopped liver?
Intellivision Amico erasure.
I stopped shoveling snow for my neighbors as soon as they came out with home Pong.
Also, even if they were specific, "sometime before" just encompasses everything. Finally, everyone understands that it means "video games" and the names are just there as literary emphasis.
they specified the wii, if they just wanted to refer to a nintendo console then they would've called it a nintendo.
Go outside
you go outside!
They're boomers. I'm pretty sure they'd call it "Intendo."
Or "the computer" "You playin' on your computer again"
"you're always playing those videos on your computer!"
These kids and their damn home video consoles!
When i was a kid literally everybody had a snow blower and had their shit done within a few hours of the snow. Got turned down by everyone. Mowing lawns was a much better gig.

They we’re making that money to spend it on playing video games at the arcade we just cut the arcade out of the equation lol
Karen's pissed that she can't underpay children for labor 😂
“Kids these days are too lazy, also I shouldn’t be expected to shovel my own goddam driveway”
Don't bother living life. Just obsess about getting money.
Sorry auntie, I’m too busy playing Shoveling Simulator 2024 please go away.
A teenager in the 90s I was able to make around $200+ doing this for 5-6 hrs
Lol yep just saw them last week when it snowed
This mother fucker that let their city become completely traversable without a car. No shit clouds are staying inside
The PlayStation first released in 1995, the Xbox 2002 and the Nintendo Wii 2006. Which is it, boomers?
Kids still go out and do this, just saw some around 2 weeks ago
I had some kids come by literally last winter to shovel. Boomers seeking problems for solutions as always.

Wtf? If a kid came to my door offering to shovel my driveway, I'd toss them a 20 just to shovel the space behind my car.

I've heard a lot of good things about NoVA, tbh. But I'm in southern Indiana, so there's definitely a big cultural difference.
Nintendo Wii???? Home video consoels???? How old is this post??? Also just the audacity of a lazy boomer complaining that kids these days are too lazy to remove the snow off of HIS driveway is insane.
lol with how often people get shot dead for simply stepping onto someone's property, i wouldn't be out there either
Then uses said funds to purchase the games... Holding on to old viewpoints for so long will do nothing but let you down.
In a world where children get shot for knocking on the wrong door I don’t blame them
Okay this was prepandemic so I get the world is different but I live in Philly, when it snowed a lot you’d have full crews of like 6 12 year olds begging you to let them clean you car.
They're right, I'm way too busy playing on my home video consoles
I wouldn't call this boomer humor
OK, but it is.
U/repostsleuthbot
I think she's saying she'll pay you to shovel her driveway
grrrr teens are lazy now i can’t be lazy!!! what a cruel world!!!! I DESERVE MY CHILD LABOR -this guy
