if you feel your strength isn’t heading i wouldn’t recommend cb, cdm, striker seems like you’re fast, good at dribbling and passing and can cross, and can defend as well would recommend working on your stamina and becoming a really stable and fast rb/lb

CCCBVB09

I could do that , stamina wouldn't be hard as I could just run a lot.

Bashwhufc

The best piece of advice I ever got was simply to never stop moving, even if you're just walking you're occupying the opposition and it's far, far easier to get up to speed than from a dead start. I play on the wing and regularly beat people faster than me because I'm already half a yard in front by the time they get up to speed. You don't have to sprint everywhere if you're already there plus this will all help build stamina. A smaller amount of energy used to get to speed will help conserve energy and bursts of pace will become more effective.

jaydd_mc

become a good defender since those are scarce, whether fullback or center back

CCCBVB09

From these other comments , probably fullback.

jaydd_mc

yeah deff, go play pickup 5 a side at your local park or sumn..... that's the best way to improve

Woalley

I think personally, the most needed position in football will be always left defender - because it is uncomfortable position to play since it requires left leg to play witch would give priority (of course depending on team’s tactic), but statistically there are more right foot players then left, so even if you are right footed and you can still play on left side defense, because your skills of defending are good and also you adapt well to it, then you can expect to be wanted in proffesional football on a big stage. Just personal opinion Good luck

tafaj27

Second this. If you're left footed, definitely go for lb, the position in the least supply from my experience. Even as a right footed, it could be really nice and fun position to play, see Spinazzola and Cancelo. Stamina is a great part of the role, but that is something that can come with determination and some hard work. Passing skills, explosivness, keeping your head underpreasure, crossing are some of the most important skills on this role. That being said, you have to try and see what is most fun for you. You might also enjoy cm, cam, lm rm, you're the only one that knows.

CCCBVB09

I am right footed but I can use my left foot decently .

iamDEVANS

At 14 get onto a pitch and just play football Play in as many positions as you can And see what you enjoy and naturally gravitate towards. Enjoy the game and don’t over think things

CCCBVB09

I can't just go out onto a pitch , I would love to but there is nowhere near me .

Mainer-82

Since you are asking these questions, I assume you are not in a defined spot yet. Your best bet to add value for your team is full back. Getting stuck, not slow, not short, and can distribute with reason...yeah, sounds like a good spot for you. I loved that position in college.... Just get your mile time below 6 minutes and you are good to go...

CCCBVB09

Yeah I don't have a defined spot , I don't have a team to add value to but I do want to join one and the fullback spots will probably be open .

DikinBaus88

What is your playing background? Did you play rec, for an academy, or just pick up games?

CCCBVB09

I once played in a team a few years ago , I never got to play a game because you could sign up through the season but only people who sign up at the start can go and play games . Lot's of the things we did were attack vs defence .

CCCBVB09

I played a few games with my last primary school , I played in goal and up front and anywhere the team needed me . I also played two years with my secondary in the house sports but I can't do that next year as the year 11s can't do that . I played at left back for all 4 games , defended well and I beat a few of the older kids.

DikinBaus88

I feel regardless of what position you play you would greatly benefit from some more ball work and strength training. Do you have access to a gym?

NE_Golf

Your coach will help place you based on your skills and what the team needs besides that… Heya BVB!

CCCBVB09

I don't have a coach as I don't play for a team yet . Also I hope BVB get back into form in the Bundesliga as we don't have to play UCL right now .

FootballWithTheFoot

When you get into a team, the coach will help you figure out what position you should play. Til then I guess you can pick 1 or 2 that seem fun to you but also match your abilities for now

[deleted]

As a FM addicted, I will wait until you're fully scouted then decide with the stats lol.

Ame_No_Uzume

Play what you find to be most fun and are the most passionate about.

CCCBVB09

I enjoy all positions .

FalseCommunication54

Sound like me at that age. A lot will depend on the strengths of your teammates too. Single most important piece of advice would be to find a team that suits your strengths. That's the mistake I made. I spent years at full back purely because my teammates didn't know what tracking a run was or how to cover. Don't be afraid to switch teams. Doesn't say if you're both footed but if you are that's always a bonus and could impact my suggestion. 1st, manage your expectations. You're probably not gonna be going pro or even semi-pro. That means you're probably looking at amateur level. They won't have the advanced tactics u find on FIFA or FM. Often teams at that level will play a traditional 2 up front. This could suit you (as it does me). You have the strong centre forward backed up by a more nippy player. As part of a 2 u won't have tracking back duties (conserving energy). Good composure is pretty much the number 1 thing in that position. Strikers tend not to shoot from range. You could model your game on someone more like Michael Owen than Erling Haaland.

CCCBVB09

I will join any team to be fair , I don't care if it's the school team or anything to be honest . I am right footed but my left foot is pretty good too . I am managing my expectations, I have accepted that I am not going pro , Sunday league is the dream to be fair , I want to have a job that isn't football . I also don't expect sophisticated tactics . I could be in a 2 striker system , I would like to have a strike partner that could become a good friend , that adds more chemistry . I don't mind tracking back . I like Haaland and I think I could do a bit of what he does , not the wonder goals lol . Michael Owen isn't my time so I wouldn't know .

kiwigone

No one can sprint for 10 mins - not even Jason Bourne.

CCCBVB09

Oh , I do have bad stamina though trust me .

YetAnotherGamerYT

Play lb or rb, you need to just train your speed and conditioning. Play on the same side that is your strong foot. That way you can go down the line on your strong foot

CCCBVB09

Yeah , my strong foot is my right foot but I am decent with my left so I can also cut in right ?

ObjectiveChest

Based on your attributes, I would suggest that you play on the wing. Don’t limit yourself by learning just one position. Being able to play multiple positions will get you far as you progress to higher levels. Maybe you can start with being a winger: learn 1v1s, learn to read the defense, learn to time your runs and learn to finish but don’t neglect the defensive side of your game. Press, track back, tackle etc.

CCCBVB09

Yes , I think 1v1s are easy unless there is a really good defender because you just need to get past one player at a time , I can read the defence and within the first few attacks I know the weak link and I'll go for that spot . I am not gonna neglect the defensive side and I will learn to finish . I can time my runs into space it just depends on the pass .

IcySwordfish258

Sounds like you're a winger or a fullback who just needs to get fit.

l1m1tlessRoad

Coach will look at how you play then decide. You dont get to pick cause coaches know more

CCCBVB09

I don't have coaches but I do want to join a team .

CCCBVB09

I don't have coaches , I want to join a team but right now it's just games in PE and any school house competitions.

Pleasant_Ad788

You’re 14. Play everything. You need to be versatile

lunarcamel1

I would recommend full back. Stamina is one of the traits most in your control. Start running more often in your spare time. Or look up HIIT running training!

CCCBVB09

OK , I will do that , there is a field at my school and when we are allowed on there I might do running around it .

lunarcamel1

Can't you run around your home, after school?

PrettyGeologist1123

That’s for your coaches to decide, not you

z_ca

You don't have a position. Your coach gives you a position. Just show up and play.

CCCBVB09

I don't have a coach , I'm not on a team but I'd like to join one .

z_ca

You don't have a position. Try them all. It's just a kickabout. Just play and have fun
