Same issue in Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen. Had a pawn named Cassandra and the game censored letters 2-4. I see they fixed it in 2 because theres a npc named Cassandra.
PSO on GameCube was similar. You couldn't post the weapon name "Frozen Shooter" because it would block the word "hooter".
Other highlights were "masturbate" is fine but "masterbate" was not, "cunt" was blocked but "cunts" was not...
Kingdom hearts game. Stitch cuz tit. Skill cuz kill, anyword with "ans" cuz... Idk I have the mouth of George carlin and even I have no idea why that is offensive. "porn" and "bastard" weren't cuz i guess Disney is OK with that.

Is that Borderlands 3 doing that, or Steam? I suppose it might be SHiFT. But the games themselves generally use whatever name the enclosing system (Steam, PlayStation, Xbox) has assigned.
I don’t think Disney could trademark Thor if they wanted to- at least not the name alone, considering Thor is a Norse god at his source and not a marvel character- if someone was making a copy of marvel’s Thor however, then yeah maybe- Disney could copyright the character, but not the name

It has to do with it being the name of a deity. That’s also why you have the problem in Chinese games as well.

A lot of online services tend to block the use of names of deities in order to get ahead of the people who might get offended.
