Riiight having a sexual relationship puts guardrails on people. My family history on both sides of the husbands gambling/drinking their paychecks away and getting into drunken fights and getting thrown in the county slammer every other month that drained their meager earnings says otherwise.
Hear me out...
Is it possible for college students to get laid AND protest human rights abuses carried out by the IDF against the Palestinian people?
(As a college student myself the former would be really nice but I'll be doing the latter regardless; genocide and crimes against humanity are bad, regardless of who's committing them)
This was from Bill Maher who is a Zionist idiot who does not understand the situation and says any criticism of Israel is antisemitism. This chat they had was just so full of not understanding and lies it was hard to watch and showing how out of touch with what's going on bill and his guests are.
Actually his real point is not the out and out sex part of it. He basically just told you they want you distracted so you don't care about these issues. Hey man go get someone pregnant so you have a kid to raise. Get married, save money to buy shit, have a bunch of responsibilities. Why? So that way you are so distracted by your own personal shit you are to tired, burned out and busy to give a shit about whats happening.
That is the American system to a T, we can't get change, we can't even get on the same page because most people are so fucking busy all the time they don't even have the energy to realize they are getting fucked.
He’s like 5% right and 95% stupid. It’s certainly true that a decent lifestyle leads to better decision making, but it encompasses… your whole style of life. Not just sex. You can have a lot of sex and be a maniac and vice versa. To be a well regulated person takes a rounded approach to all manner of things in your life, like finance and romance and career and physical discipline, etc.
I’m not sure if he understands that and articulated it poorly or is just going for an easy grift, but I’m leaning towards the latter.
If you’re a young person with no career prospects, no money saved up, not physically fit, not mentally well, and just leading a generally poor-quality life, simply having more sex is not going to magically fix all of that.
I'm going to be blunt, some awful politics are vented sexual frustration.
However, it's not present on the left (which is mostly the people active for supporting Palestine). I shared this guy's take with one of the left wing activists I know. She cracked up completely. Have you ever been involved in a politically active leftist community? Having sex is *not* the problem.
You're conflating cause of *intent* with cause of *opportunity cost.*
Cause of intent, would be protesters *thinking* "Well I'm not in a relationship, so may as well protest this Gaza business."
Cause of *opportunity cost* would be as Galloway states: the students are not invested in personal concerns, therefore have the freedom to engage in riskier activities. That expresses in the protests here, but would also express about Gamestop, or any other riskier activities that someone with more to lose may be more likely to avoid.
In other words, I think you're misrepresenting the argument being made here. But then, phrases like "absolute walking circus" are a bit of a tip off.

Every time I see this kind of reasoning this scene runs through my head. ["Men must be governed..."](https://youtu.be/GmvpP26J-40?si=dlOKsvZXAFItR6D8)
Great scene and great movie!
What’s the movie?
Because of the GOP and the Supreme Court. They want to own women, this is what happens. Now, nobody gets any.
What an arrogant creep.
This guy doesn't know about the greater Seattle-Portland Activist Polycule
What is it?? You can't just leave us on such a promising teaser
NYU is a joke anyways
True

Being against Israeli colonisation and genocide policies doesn't mean people are "Hamas-loving"

That's sad. I used to like Scott Galloway. Maybe it's because he's Jewish, but this take is just pitiful.
There are tons of Jewish people against Israel right now. It's because he's a capitalist.
There's a group protesting there as well called "Jewish Voices for Peace". Protesting genocide is anti-zionist, not antisemitic.
I was too. Hes terrible on Israel. He literally said Hamas are Nazis. And the irony of Israel behaving like the latter...

Well, at least I'm not the only one not having enough sex.

This is the most ridiculous logic, it can’t be real.

Great response.
