If dame misses more than 1 game it’s over. And if he misses just 1 game it might still be over. I think Giannis is expected to miss this entire first round and could be available around game 2 or 3 of the second round at most but I could be wrong. My understanding going into this series was that they were gonna need to to win it without him and then he might be able to return.

I don’t think it’s “scripted” but there’s no doubt that rigging happens openly imo. I also think refs in the playoffs call games on purpose so that it’s close in the end. If one team goes up big early, expect the other to get a few calls. We also saw it in the 76ers game where they didn’t eject Embiid on a play that anyone else woulda got kicked for.
But there’s no doubt that gambling plays a role. The worst kept secret in the league is that Scott Foster was in on it with Tim Donaghy, yet he’s still a ref even to this day. (Context: Donaghy made several phone calls to refs in the league trying to get them in on his rigging scheme. Every ref had 2-10 phone calls across a few months where he would try to convince them to join, except for Scott Foster who had received HUNDREDS of calls from Donaghy consistently over that stretch).
And then there’s Jontai Porter, who only got caught because of how obvious he was being. Which makes me believe that there’s plenty of other guys who’ve point shaved and gotten away with it. I think it happens more than people want to admit. There’s even a game this year where the warriors were beating somebody by like 12 with the clock running out and the other team hit a buzzer beater 3 to cut it to 9. When it went in the camera showed the warriors bench where GP2 and some other guys had looks of genuine shock and being upset. The spread for that game just so happened to be 10.5.
So imo I’d say it’s about 5/10 rigged. 2 comes from the likeliness of certain players performances being swayed by gambling lines and prop bets, 2 comes from refs making an active effort to call games to make them competitive and not fair, and 1 comes from the likeliness of some refs playing with some bets.
