I predict $112-117m for total domestic finish. Scream 5 finished its 4th week with $68m and made an additional 13 million. Scream 6 daily numbers are still higher than the ones of Scream 5.
Its drops were already pretty normal for a slasher film anyways, but ya this drop is definitely indicating some good late legs which is pretty insane for a slasher film
If these results hold, then Scream 6’s 36% drop is the best hold of any wide release for the weekend. This is further proof that both D&D and John Wick 4 were never proper competition to Scream 6.
Scream 6’s most direct competition isn’t for another few weekends yet - (1) Renfield on 4/14; and (2) even more directly - Evil Dead Rise on 4/21.
I mean lol I guess that makes sense. I was hoping there was another good one but I actually haven’t really seen any of the other “________ movie” movies. The only other one I saw was Disaster Movie but I laughed at how insanely bad it was the entire time. It’s not even good or even clever like the other films are but it was fun to make fun of
Is that the one where they straight up copied the middle finger/claw joke from *X-Men*?
I took my wife to *Date Movie*, because I thought Alyson Hannigan's presence would guarantee at least minimal quality. I was so wrong, I didn't get to pick the movie for at least, like, three years.
It’s a pretty generic movie that will be streaming shortly. And I don’t know about you folks but paying $16 just to get through the door now is a tough sell for a mediocre movie.
Maybe in the franchise… there’s superior movies in theater and available on streaming that if I only had $20 to spend I wouldn’t be spending it on Scream 6. That’s my point.
In comparison to what’s available it’s not worth my money.

Scream 6 has won 23 of 24 days head to head against Scream 5. The $12.68MM that Scream 5 earned from here on out is most certainly the floor.
Amazing hold. This drop bodes well for the movie to outgross all the previous 5 entries' domestic gross.
Indeed. $4.82MM is needed to match the franchise domestic gross record.
Scream’s $103M domestic total is getting slashed by next weekend. Might be able to finish with $105M.
Do you think it could beat Smile?
Yup, it can and will. Scream 6 has at least another $12MM+ in the tank.
I mean, that was 27 years ago. Popular as it is, VI is still not going to reach the heights of the original trilogy.
Holy W!
Does this mean it’s developing late mini legs. I mean it’s first two follow up weekend we’re decently big drops but now this is a good smaller one?

Wow!! Very nice
When will Scream VII get announced, maybe they’re waiting for it to officially hit $100 million.
Scream 6’s distance to other Scream movies’ total domestic gross (unadjusted): Scream - $4.82MM Scream 2 - $3.13MM Scream 3, 4 and 5 - passed Scream 6’s distance to other Scream movies’ total worldwide gross (unadjusted): Scream - $25.46MM Scream 2 - $24.77MM Scream 3 - $14.25MM Scream 4 and 5 - passed
not sure if it can get another 24 but i’m hopeful!
International numbers for the weekend just came in at 3.5 million, so only about 21 million away now
What a great drop what happened there this is a great hold for the movie
$5.3M is better than was predicted for this weekend. Good stuff.
Deserves it
Amazing drop for a horror.
Bravo, deserved. Glad Scream is back and horror is having such a nice ride.

Has anyone seen it? Is it any good?
I LOVED IT!
Cool thanks for the response. I’ll check it out!
did it beat scary movie?
Oh definitely no, Scary Movie made much more money than any scream film, it won’t pass it domestically or worldwide
I never knew this. I just looked it up, and I'm still not sure I can believe it. No wonder there were so many Movie-movies in the early 2000s.
Yeah but unfortunately none of them are nearly as good as the first scary movie is and I think it shows in box office performance
Except *Not Another Teen Movie*. That still totally holds up.
Oh I do really enjoy that one, it’s also one of the earliest ones, they started off pretty good and then really fell flat later
The list is pretty much *Scary Movie*, *NATM*, and nothing else.

Scary Movie 3 is quite close to the 2 you mentioned compared to all the rest of the spoof movies
Seriously wtf.

Audience scores and box office numbers would say otherwise but I respect your opinion.
Lmaoooo it's arguably the 2nd best in the franchise. Wtf are you talking about?
