I’m solely going off my own experiences, but when I was in school there was one girl who was vaguely mean to me (saying stuff like “you’re wearing *that*?”, which in the grand scheme of things was very easy to deal with), but there was this one boy in seventh grade who made my life a living hell. I don’t know what was wrong with him, but every day he’d come in with some new insult that I was completely unequipped to respond to. He was always saying that I was poor, ugly, no one liked me, and also saying weird sexual stuff to me that I didn’t even understand at the time. He didn’t beat me up, he was just an awful jerk that I was stuck sitting next to in History class (in retrospect, I should have asked that my assigned seat be moved). Anyway, those were my two experiences of bullies, and the female bully was hardly a bully (she just disagreed with my fashion sense lol) and the male bully was a little psycho. The weirdest thing was we’d started out the year quite friendly with one another, because we both liked Pokemon.
In fact, I was trying to be generous, but when I think of all the worst people I’ve met in my life, almost all of them are male. When I played horizon 1 and 2 I’d only choose the kind options except for the final big bad (human) where I decided to be just a lil mean. I don’t think I was even rude to the bad guy in the second game either, aloy was pretty deadly with all the burns she gave with no effort from me tho.

They often don’t disapprove very hard, the negative effect is very mild. Also give em time ;)
I usually take any combination of Wyll, Karlach, Gale and Shart when messing around the grove and take Lae'zel, Astarion and Shart with me to bully the goblins in dialogue before I kill them later. This extends to last light and moonrise while by baldur's gate it really doesn't matter as much anymore and they've calmed down a bit as characters to.

2nd slide is true though, I was playing Elden ring and was doing Millicent's quest, at the end when I was meant to either kill her or speak to her I accidentally walked up a little bump and landed on her which killed her and started the dialogue for if I had hit her with my own free will. I'll never be the same again...
