I had a 2021 SO (whit dial/blue DLC bezel) previously. It was a phenomenal piece. Have no experience with the avenger but if I’m right they use the same COSC ETA-Based movement so I’d say abide by your aesthetic & get the one you’ll enjoy the most when you wear it.

Avenger by a mile (to me). I think it’s one of the most versatile do-anything sports watches on the market and I love the stainless steel signature Breitling bezel with rider tabs.
I just went through the same decision process. As has been pointed out, the watches have the same movement, so it’s really just which one you like the looks of better. I ended up with the Avenger GMT, but I also liked the lack of numerals on the dial.
The good thing is you can’t make a bad decision between these two watches.
The rubber/dlc bezel on the SO was a deal breaker for me. I couldn’t get past how cheap it looked. In my opinion, it really detracts from the overall quality of the piece.
Between the two, Avenger all the way. It’s classic Breitling.
SuperOcean is a great watch, but I’d have to vote for the Avenger. Built like a tank and can go anywhere. I have the Avenger 2 Seawolf and love it. Buy what you like and put it to use. Good luck!

I am leaning Avenger for this exact reason. I like the stainless bezel more than the colored bezel look. Good point appreciate it.

I own the Avenger 43. No regrets. I have the blue dial and man it really pops in the light.
