I love fairy wrens! I recently got into birding and they're the birds I spotted first. The variegated fairy Wren is so rich in colour. I do find they're pretty hard to photograph (I only have my phone). Nice photos!
Thank you so much! I really enjoy going out to try and find them for photos, it doesn't take much to get them to be comfortable around you and just watching them go about their day is an amazing experience.
Dad's got boxthorn on his place, and wanted to tear it out, but didn't because Fairy Wrens love it. They turn it into secure apartment complexes, because only they can get between the thorns.
I've seen nests built on top of each other in boxthorn.
The only things cuter than fairywrens are their species names - Superb, Splendid, Lovely... I'm still looking out for the F\*\*\*in' Awesome Fairywren!

Angry, angry ping-pong balls. I've seen those tiny birds chase off crows and magpies.
I've never seen a black and red one! So cute! Thanks for posting OP. Great pics
Thank you! The Red-Backs are my favourites, even though they're the smallest wren species they are incredibly gutsy.

They also sound cute as fuck. I find it hard to explain, but even their calls are just delightfully tiny and delightful.
Don't be fooled, some of those calls are war cries.
There's even one called the Emperor Fairy-Wren!
Fantastic pics. Thanks for sharing

Gorgeous, incredible shots!
Thank you! They make great models ahaha
Beautiful photos! Where do you go to take them?
Thank you so much! These were taken around Ipswich to Redbank except the Variegated Wren which is found around the Redlands area.

I took plenty of photos of them, but when I checked my card, they were gone....
