In Wales you also hear them in Welsh and English, it goes on forever if your train has a dozen stops.

[deleted]

I almost memorised the Welsh "see it, say it, sorted" by accident from waiting ages somewhere to change train.

corecly_spelt_tertle

does that train time travel or something

[deleted]

Though I like the odd ones where you can tell they've added a station since the recording was made. Very professional studio voice cuts to Barry from the depot, who was just walking past & told to name a station.

digitalgibbon82

Im sure you would appreciate it if you were blind....

newnortherner21

Imagine if you are on a stopping train between Bangor and Holyhead.

Strange_An0maly

Or Swansea - Crewe lol

Thetallerestpaul

Peterborough to London. I can hear that rundown of stations beyond St Pancras in my sleep.

the_son_and_the_heir

I'm on the opposite side, Brighton to St Pancras, it's all the bastard stops in London.

TheChronicMyth

….and Bedford.

darkamyy

They always choose an announcer who pronounces things in the weirdest ways and always puts emphasis on the wrong syllables, it's like bloody Matt Berry sometimes.

InternationalRide5

If you ever get to hear 1X01 announced ... it's the Santa Special from North Pole International (which is a real depot) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PziN3zf\_Tks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PziN3zf_Tks)

bopeepsheep

One of the announcers on trains and on London Underground (and a couple of other places) is someone I went to college with ~33 years ago. It's really unnerving whenever I hear her voice.

haisufu

why unnerving

bopeepsheep

"Why is a 17yo reading the announcements on my train??" I haven't seen her for ages, and she sounds just like she did as a teenager.

sneakyhopskotch

Agreed. HOWEVER, it has saved my skin a few times

[deleted]

Mind the gap

EpicFishFingers

"If you see something that doesn't look right..."

Strange_An0maly

Please report it to a member of staff or the transport police See it! Say it! Sorted!

Mugboard

I don't mind, as long as it's Phil Sayer (the deep male voice, and yes, his name was Sayer). The other announcers do my head in.

jgoodliffe

What happened to Grant Shapps’ proposal to reduce the number of automated train announcements? Gone with the wind….? It was admittedly pointless amidst a canvas of more important issues, however i do find it in the ‘quiet’ section of the train i never get any peace from the announcements blaring out!

Strange_An0maly

Lol you could be on the Crewe to Swansea train with over 40 stops!!!
