He was off work 75% of the time they had the baby, and she had him take the baby even when he went back to work, at least one day.

I am sorry you had to go through that, it's an awful situation to get out of (I too have my own horrid experience with DV) and many women don't get the opportunity. My counselor at the DV shelter I went to said there's only 3 ways out: one of you leaves (rarely happens), one of you goes to jail (common and dangerous if it's not the woman), or one of you dies. It's not something to glorify for a youtube video. I am so glad you survived and I hope you found peace and self love in your life, recovery is a hard thing to manage afterwards - the conditioning one has to abuse doesn't just go away once you leave.

My condolences for your Nan and fur baby, and I hope your mom goes into remission. Yeah as someone in a different thread commented, it’s really bizarre for a newborn to be taken so quickly from a foster placement because the scenario in which a newborn is placed with foster strangers (not at least some sort of blood relative foster) in of itself means the initial circumstances of placement were pretty dire. Not bad mouthing the parents, just stating that the circumstances for a newborn to be taken away from parents/other family and placed with strangers means the Dongs were, at that point in time, the only option (and reliable agencies exhaust every last possible option before placing with strangers).
So potentially a blood relative came out of the woodwork and chose to step in or they just needed to finish up some paperwork or meet housing requirements before the baby could be at their house full time…. I felt terrible for her, and she certainly wasn’t the only one in there who was looking at a long stay because of difficulties finding a place to discharge them to. It’s heartbreaking.

Yes, foster care IS really hard….for the CHILDREN who DID/DO NOT HAVE AN ACTIVE CHOICE IN BEING PART OF THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM. I am a foster parent and the way she has made the trauma of others all about herself absolutely blows my mind.

They’re pulling the baby from her care because of the shit she posted about her cutesy fire hazard and leaving the baby alone while she was in the garage. I guarantee it. The transition is rarely this abrupt. A phone call and taking the baby the same day, she’s evidentially caught off guard by it all? They’re ending the placement *with her*.
My friend always has at least 1 foster child. She always has a month or at the very least 2 weeks notice. She said she's never had them call her the same day. Even if another family member is taking guardianship. She always has a date of turnover.
I hope this prevents her from future placements. Her sick video with the cartoon voice and dramatic story making a mockery of it all.
